Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 763: Chapter 287: Loom

The Thought Police decisively slipped away.

The full name of the Six Ministries is the Six Major Inspector Departments. The ranks of the department members are divided into Intermediate, Advanced, Special Level, and above the Special Level, Ministerial Level.

As a regular ’Thought Police,’ just an Intermediate member, encountering these big shots, what else can you do but flee?

”Tsk tsk, the powerful computational power brought by the Electronic Brain Plan was indeed first allocated to the Six Ministries. They even managed to research the replicas of Cyber Killer.”

Gao Gong cheerfully said, seemingly paying no attention to the trio frantically winking at him.

Gao Gong turned his gaze to the last lady.

The lady had short purple-red hair, red pupils, upon closer inspection, the finest bionic eyes, capable of communicating with Armed Space Stations in outer space.

Her figure was equally explosive, dressed in a tight black combat suit with a hint of style, wearing a tight-fitting red vest over it, appearing both sexy and competent.

”This is Miss Yagami Suuji. Your name precedes you, I have heard much about you.”

”You know me?” Yagami Suuji gently asked.

”Uh, although we haven’t met, I have heard of your reputation, ranked as the foremost female powerhouse in the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, first in the sequence of the Action Department, Deep Net Enthusiast.”

”And Female Tyrannosaurus,” the Collider joked from behind, only to be fiercely glared at by the Pupil. Are you asking for trouble? We still want to live, don’t you know the captain is currently in a state of rage?

However, to the trio’s surprise, Yagami Suuji did not rage, but was much calmer than expected. Furthermore, when being warmly invited to join for coffee, she replied courteously.

”What’s up with the captain?” The Collider asked puzzledly, scratching his head.

”Something’s up, a big situation,” Chapai rubbed his chin said.

”What’s happening?” The Pupil couldn’t resist asking.

”Don’t you think this Mr. G looks quite handsome?”

”Handsome?”

The Pupil lifted his beer-bottle-thick mirror surface, suddenly, numerous photos of Mr. G refreshed, explosive figure, handsome features with a touch of wildness, exuding a kind of desirous conqueror charm.

Thinking of this, the Pupil’s heart itched instantly.

Uh-oh! Caught by the handsome trap!

The Pupil was terrified inside. Even someone like her, who fancies beautiful young men as an older beautiful girl, felt affected, not to mention Captain Suzi, a strong woman, undoubtedly most taken by this type.

The trio was about to enter when Fat Xiang blocked the door and said muffledly, ”Brother Gao and your captain said they want a private chat. You guys just wait here.”

The Pupil felt even more uneasy. First meeting and they want a private chat, who knows what might happen next, can’t even imagine.

But in truth, by the poolside on the beach, the two were merely chatting casually.

Gao Gong’s ’handsome aura’ was one thing, but more importantly, it was Aramaki hiding in the shadows, connecting the two.

With this old man around, the two weren’t considered strangers.

”He told me there are monsters in the starry sky, are the monsters here now?”

Gao Gong thought for a bit, laughed, ”In about three months, you’ll be able to see the monsters.”

”What do the monsters look like?”

”To ordinary people, you and I are monsters. To humans, Radiation Beasts are monsters. To Radiation Beasts, huge Mechanical Weapons are monsters. To regular Mechanical City citizens, enterprises are monsters. In the eyes of good people, bad people are monsters.”

Gao Gong calmly said:

”So, you ask me what a monster is, then I’m afraid I can’t give you a precise answer. You can ask yourself, what is it that you fear most. When you think it through, it will definitely take the form of what you fear the most.”

Yagami Suuji’s corner of her eye twitched slightly, she didn’t expect to receive such an answer. What is it that she fears most?

She didn’t think further but instead asked her second question in a deep voice:

”Where is Aramaki now?”

”He,” Gao Gong pondered, sincerely said, ”I don’t know.”

”You don’t know?”

”Of course not, I was just busy with the Corporate War the last while, who knows where this old man is wandering?”

Yagami Suuji’s brows slightly furrowed.

Gao Gong laughed, ”But if you really want to investigate him, I can give you two directions; one clue is an underground sect called the Turing Sect, another clue is the Fortress.”

Gao Gong wasn’t talking nonsense, but in the previous life, Aramaki frequented these two directions, and he keenly realized the value of players.

Then almost single-handedly, he investigated the ’Memory Mother.’

Although eventually proved useless.

”Turing Sect... and Fortress?”

Yagami Suuji was clearly more interested in the latter.

”I may not know what’s happening in the Fortress, but without a doubt, something went wrong.”

In the previous life, the Fortress’ collapse was indeed a bit too swift, swift enough to probably not even open the Host Firewall.

Yagami Suuji contemplated for a moment before asking the next question.

”As the new Minister of Shell Mobile Division, what do you plan to do?”

”Eat, take, card, and demand.” Gao Gong said with a serious face.

”...”

”Haha, just a joke, of course to inherit the will of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, to monitor corporations and protect humanity.”

Yagami Suuji was somewhat satisfied with this answer, and after a moment of silence, she asked again:

”What was your real purpose for using that ’Star-Destroying Weapon’?”

”If I said it was a coincidence, would you believe it?” Gao Gong said with a helpless expression.

From encountering Xie Egui to an intense battle, finally using the ’Ministerial Authority’ to swallow the opponent with a black hole, everything was a battlefield improvisation, from beginning to end, it may not even have been an hour. He still hasn’t figured out how the other party became fixated on Director Du, as this guy was in outer space, perhaps even beyond the Star System.

Sure enough, a rich lady is a treasure, attracting attention no matter where she goes.

Seeing the sincerity in Gao Gong’s eyes, Yagami Suuji was silent for a moment, then asked one last question.

”When do you plan to take office?”

”Within three days.”

Yagami Suuji didn’t say another word, stood up, turned around and left, leaving only a beautiful back for Gao Gong to see.

Just like that, relieved?

’Hello, Minister Gao, I am the Artificial Intelligence of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division, you can call me ’Miss Ke’.’

Oh, it seems not so relieved after all.

...

In the Fortress, amidst a riotous banquet.

Du Zhaodi, wearing a white lab coat, seemed out of place, her cold face having already rejected countless invitations to dance.

”What’s wrong, Sister Du?” Dressed in a luxurious gown with a generous amount of white skin exposed, Qin Zhenzi sensed something was off with Du Zhaodi and quietly approached to ask in a low voice.

”I feel a bit unwell.”

”Is it because of the environment here?” Qin Zhenzi said, glancing around at the lavish and sensual surroundings.

”No, it’s not that.”

Du Zhaodi’s gaze fell upon the man at the center of the reception, dressed in a red suit, whose expression always carried an indescribable smile, seemingly sincere yet feeling like it could penetrate one’s inner thoughts.

Mr. Ren, the Minister of the Humanity Experiment Department among the Six Major Inspector Departments, despite looking about twenty, he is like Old Man Aramaki, an initial Minister.

”Him.”

Qin Zhenzi recalled the previous scenes, both Sister Du and the Holy Brain Group individual only exchanged pleasantries briefly at the beginning, then allowed the two female Presidents to proceed at their leisure, making it hard to say whether it was maintaining appropriate social distance or just sheer carelessness.

”This person doesn’t seem very enthusiastic about you?”

”Let’s go for a walk.”

”Okay, I’ll accompany you.”

Meanwhile, Ye the Big Lolita enjoyed socializing, or more accurately, enjoyed leaving an undetectable mental imprint on powerful individuals, which in the future would gradually consume their minds until they were fully in her control.

This was actually a technique of the ’Holy Brain’, which she had learned and further developed.

However, this approach was soon forced to stop.

Ye the Big Lolita looked helplessly at a certain brainless girl fiercely glaring with wide, round eyes, intimidating any guests trying to approach her.

”What are you doing?” she couldn’t help but ask.

”Of course, protecting you,” Xiao Yu said matter-of-factly, ”Don’t forget, I’m your bodyguard. There are many people here with mixed intentions; what if you encounter an assassin?”

Ye the Big Lolita wanted to flick her forehead in frustration, but finally sighed, saying helplessly, ”The war is over.”

”No, in the eyes of a true warrior, the war has never ended!” Xiao Yu said with a serious face.

”...”

Ye the Big Lolita gritted her teeth, ”But I am quite strong.”

”No, you only think you’re strong. My boss told me that people like you have a nickname, Ye Family Asura, never beaten by the strong.”

”I—”

Ye the Big Lolita wished to crush Gao Gong to death, aside from the time spent with him, her win rate was quite high, thank you very much.

”Come on, let’s go get something to eat.”

”I want teppanyaki!” Xiao Yu’s eyes shone brightly.

Ye the Big Lolita lazily led Xiao Yu to the buffet area, signaling a 2 to the working Bionic Man, then after a thought, added a 0.

Meanwhile, Xiao Yu’s mouth was watering from the smell of grilled meat on the teppan.

Just as Ye the Big Lolita was contemplating what to let the other person eat next, an indescribable ripple suddenly alarmed her, and the surrounding figures instantly became overlapping visions, followed by a strange string sound, and then screams sounded one after another.

”Mr. Ren is dead!”

”Quick, call a doctor!”

What on earth, who died, was it the Minister of the Humanity Experiment Department?

Ye the Big Lolita instinctively stepped forward, then the next moment, the floor beneath her disappeared, as if she was falling into an endless abyss.

’You still dare to make a move against me?’

Ye the Big Lolita’s face turned stern, and with a thought, an infinite Black Tide surged out from within her, engulfing everything around her.

At the end of the Black Tide, she seemed to see an old textile machine.
