Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 775: Chapter 299: Tower of Spirit Image

Gao Gong is indeed lying.

He’s not here for this task.

In fact, he has no intention of participating in Old Man Aramaki’s plan at all.

Aramaki, or even those who invite wolves into their homes, might be overlooking one thing.

And that is the power of the Level 5 Information Monster!

It is so powerful that it can effortlessly change this planet.

Aramaki might think that as long as he takes action, gathers these rebels together somehow, then cuts off their communication with the higher-ups, and then swaps them with the Crown Prince under disguise, the problem can be smoothly resolved. As for the monster in the starry sky, just sending a fake planetary coordinate would suffice.

On the scale of the universe, the next meeting may be in tens of thousands of years.

But the Memory Mother has already arrived and has already parasitized all life forms on this planet with larvae.

Old Man Aramaki’s operations can only amaze normal people, but not monsters of that level.

No matter what plans Aramaki has, Gao Gong can be 100% sure that the Cyber Tide will erupt.

So what’s the point of following this old man and doing useless things?

Might as well focus on my ’Virtual Safe House.’

But this creates a problem: although I have 5 billion, no, now 6 billion in ’Alliance Experience,’ when gambling on ’Tier 3 Civilization Architecture’-level super blueprints, they average out to just 2 billion per architectural blueprint, which is definitely not enough.

If I can’t get them through ’hard gambling,’ I’ll have to find a shortcut.

The shortcut is simple: just get a few ’large blueprints’ of the same type to significantly reduce the consumption of ’gambling blueprints.’

That’s why Gao Gong came here.

This place was indeed told to him by Old Man Aramaki, but not by the Aramaki of this lifetime.

In the last lifetime’s Cyber Tide, all fronts collapsed entirely, and Aramaki could only notify the remaining players to teleport to the Earth Core through the ’Gravity Void’ to leave a spark for this planet’s civilization.

Gao Gong received the notification in the last life, but before he was halfway on his way, Aramaki disappeared, and the mission vanished.

So unfortunately, he never got to enter.

This time, he had the fortune to enter the true headquarters of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division.

This ’Shell Attack Center’ is on the same level as the ’Planet Host,’ but the Planet Host focuses on computation, while the Shell Attack Center focuses on surveillance.

Moreover, each ’Inspector Center’ specializes in different directions, and the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division focuses on corporate surveillance.

Now, in Gao Gong’s hands, he has the information of all the corporate executives on this planet, as well as all the technical test data.

The technological experiments carried out in this test field are truly innumerable; the evolutionary process of technology that takes tens of thousands of years in a normal civilization is condensed into less than a century.

The intensity of these tests can be imagined.

Gao Gong focused on those related to the ’Brain Domain Civilization.’

For example, one ’Virtual Human Project’ research was declared a failure, and the project data was also transferred to the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’s data center, which is here, with a danger level of 5.

Within this ’Virtual Human Project’ is a large blueprint called the ’Virtual Life Converter,’ a crucial device in ’Tier 3 Information Architecture.’

[You obtained a Level 13 large information blueprint [Virtual Life Converter]]

Gao Gong also found another component, the ’[Brain Shell Simulator],’ from another information experiment.

The former can temporarily convert Carbon-Based Life into Virtual Life, allowing for an early taste of the ’Out-of-Body Experience’; the latter simulates all ’neural electric reactions’ of the brain.

With these two combined, one of the three ’Tier 3 Information Architecture’ pieces Gao Gong envisioned has come to fruition.

He added ’Neuro-Editing Technology,’ ’Life Technology,’ and ’Electronic Life Chip’ into the gamble blueprint page.

Then dragged [Virtual Life Converter] and [Brain Shell Simulator] into the transparent box below.

Soon, a line of text popped up.

[Checking the matching degree between ’Professional Knowledge Chain’ and ’Large Blueprint’ — 13.1% probability to synthesize ’Tier 3 Information Architecture - Tower of Spirit Image,’ 6.5% chance to synthesize ’Tier 2 Information Species - Neural Flow Soldier,’ 1.1% chance to synthesize Tier 4 Bloodline - Child of the Soul]

Let’s do this!

[Synthesis failed]

[Synthesis failed]

[Synthesis succeeded, you obtained ’???’ blueprint]

[Synthesis failed]

[Synthesis succeeded, you obtained ’????’ blueprint]

[Synthesis failed]

...

The fact proves that having blueprints for synthesis is more reliable than not having any.

Soon, the synthesis succeeded, but it wasn’t what Gao Gong wanted.

[You obtained the manufacture method of ’Tier 2 Information Species - Neural Flow Soldier’]

Neural Flow Soldier: Rare Information Species within Tier 2 Civilization, composed of specific ’neural currents,’ has a strong overlord ability when the brain’s computational power is sufficient, can directly attack the enemy’s information processing core, and possesses a decent repair ability, which is hard for ordinary antivirus software to eliminate.

”This thing is a perfect match for the Biological Can,” Gao Gong muttered.

You know, the final fate of most players is to become a Biological Can and be shoved into a Planet Factory for bio-generating electricity.

If combined with this ’Neural Flow Soldier,’ the speed of overlord might be exaggeratedly powerful, generating troops one legion after another.

However, soon Gao Gong thought of something else.

This ’Tier 2 Species’ seems to match well with the ’Brain-in-a-Vat.’ After all, its brain’s power generation capacity likely equals that of a hundred million people.

Anyway, having one more Tier 2 Species in the alliance is always a good thing, plus the Biomechanical Knight, Biological Hunter, Mechanical Hunter, Tier 2 Mecha Manipulator, Elite Species - Imperial Guard.

Our alliance already has six Tier 2 Species.

For a Tier 2 power, this is indeed a rather substantial number.

Without further ado, continue gambling.

Stuff in alliance experience worth millions, tens of millions.

After about 40 more attempts, they finally gambled what Gao Gong wanted.

[You have obtained Tier 3 Information Architecture - Tower of Spirit Image]

The Tower of Spirit Image: In industrial civilization, the electric tower is a guarantee for transmission lines and an important part of the power system, and in virtual civilization, the Tower of Spirit Image is similarly the guarantee of civilization, an important part of the soul guarantee system. It can convert and transmit souls, virtual personalities, artificial intelligences, and other virtual life forms on a large scale.

”Finally settled one.”

Gao Gong breathed a sigh of relief, glancing at alliance experience, only consuming 500 million, with 5.5 billion remaining.

This undoubtedly bodes well for the subsequent ’gambling blueprint.’

’Once we get out, give this ’Tier 3 Architecture’ to Director Du, get it built as soon as possible. One Tower of Spirit Image can cover the area of a continent, and at least 15 are needed to move freely within the Cyber Tide.’

”Minister Gao, it seems you’ve breathed a sigh of relief.”

”Indeed, I have.”

Next, Gao Gong began collecting a large amount of information, gathering all the data related to the other two virtual buildings.

Fortunately, with Miss Ke’s help, this heavy task was relatively smoothly handled.

...

A few days later

”Captain!”

”Captain, say something!”

”With this new minister here, I feel our department is going downhill.”

Yagami Suuji suddenly looked up, coldly swept a glance at the standout members, and immediately these fearless members shivered.

”If you are dissatisfied with the new minister, you should take it up with him. What use is it to tell me?”

”But, Captain, you have always been the new minister’s—”

”What, do you mean I should rebel?”

”No, no, of course not,” this member hurriedly denied, although their eyes rolled around, seeming to think this idea wasn’t entirely unaccepted.

”Speak if you have something to say, if not, get out!”

Once these members left, Yagami Suuji reverted to her indifferent expression and continued working, casually saying:

”Miss Ke.”

”Captain Suji, I am here.”

”What’s our minister been busy with lately?”

”Looking at our headquarters’ information, I think it’s a good sign, Captain Suji.”

”Have you learned to lie too, Miss Ke? I remember your operation program doesn’t include a lying option.”

”I haven’t lied, Captain Suji.”

”But you didn’t tell me about you taking our new minister into the ’Shell Attack Center.’

Miss Ke’s surprised voice sounded.

”How did Captain Suji know?”

”I have been a reservist at the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division since I was six and know very little of this department,” Yagami Suuji said calmly, ”You haven’t answered my question, Miss Ke.”

”Bringing all previous ministers to the core of this Inspector Department has been something I’ve always done.”

”But you didn’t say this minister needs to be recognized by you, Miss Ke. The second and third ministers weren’t accepted by you like this. The Shell Attack Center is your main body, after all.”

Miss Ke was silent for a moment before speaking again:

”Just as you chose to trust the other, I chose to trust the fourth minister, for the same reason.”

”It seems you are hiding a lot from me.”

Yagami Suuji closed her eyes, then opened them, speaking calmly and firmly: ”Please inform the other party that I will also be involved in investigating the monster in the Starry Sky. If there’s any interference, notify me in advance.”

”Okay.”

”By the way, I won’t be attending this Six Ministers’ meeting. The new minister can’t possibly not have time for a meeting.”

”Certainly not,” Miss Ke said, ”In fact, he is reviewing our department’s intelligence summary.”

Yagami Suuji raised an eyebrow, finding this minister incredibly diligent?

Gao Gong was indeed looking, as with the minister’s authority, nothing could be concealed from him in the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division.

Moreover, some recent events had indeed caught his attention.

For instance, there was a traitor from the Xiao Family, taking a very important technological artifact, named ’Xiao Yu.’

Additionally, one of the Big Data Conceptual Bodies, the ’Eye of Peeping,’ has died.

According to another version, the update has been implemented.
