Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 765: Chapter 289: Mother City Deep Net

Aramaki didn’t panic. Since the person’s ’Personality Evolution’ ability can be exerted on outsiders, it can naturally also be exerted on insiders. This doesn’t mean the person can return so quickly. Aramaki still has many cards up his sleeve.

”Fortress Elder.”

For this version of the Fortress, Aramaki maintained adequate respect.

”A tiny personality born from my personality simulator has already grown to such a point, Aramaki brat, have you forgotten that I was the one who introduced you to Deep Net? If she knew your identity as a spy, what would happen?”

”It probably wouldn’t be surprising,” Aramaki said calmly. ”Since my faked death, I’ve left a file for Ms. Deep Web, completely explaining my identity, and I haven’t lost my title as a Deep Web Enthusiast. Clearly, she probably knew about it all along.”

”Hmph,” the Fortress Elder’s faceless visage displayed intense evil qi. ”Get out of my domain, traitor!”

”Of course, but before leaving, I have one last question to ask you.”

”You still want to extract information from this imposter!”

”No, it’s to ask you.”

”What do you want to ask?”

”Regarding the monster in the starry sky, that Memory Mother, how much do you know?”

”Nonsense!”

With a ’bang’, the door slammed shut heavily, and somehow, Aramaki appeared outside of it.

”Let’s go, kid, he’s really angry now. If he gets agitated and lets some things out, that won’t be good.”

The voice inside the door sounded again.

Aramaki took a deep breath, his rugged face seemed to grow even older.

Just as the other had said, all the doors in the corridor were banging incessantly. With each collision, hidden and fleeting monsters could be glimpsed through the cracks.

”Kid, let me out. I’m the information virus the Fortress fears most. I can help you deal with him!”

”I’m a top expert in artificial intelligence. I’ve detected that the Fortress has been implanted with a virus.”

”Aramaki, don’t forget me. I’m your old friend Charles!”

”Minister Aramaki, I have evidence in my hands of the Fortress betraying Mother City’s interests.”

Aramaki’s face was serious, his steps resolute, but his expression soon changed. In the corridor, fragments of a door lay scattered everywhere.

Yet the room opposite was empty, not a shadow in sight.

Did someone escape?

”Weren’t you just probing my information? Old thing!”

Aramaki’s foot hit empty air as a golden sand whirlpool rapidly formed. A hand lurking among the sand grains suddenly reached out, grabbing the opponent’s ankle.

In an instant, countless lines of source code were absorbed into the ’Golden Avalanche’.

Cyber Killer Zero!

Aramaki still understood the leader of the Punk Group, knowing that once caught by them, all artificial intelligence capabilities would be destroyed.

His old eyes flashed with a hint of fierceness, his thigh twisted sharply, and the entire calf ripped off. His whole figure quickly dimmed.

”Where are you going!!”

The ’Golden Avalanche’ directly formed a giant hand, about to reach into the void and grab Aramaki’s true form.

However, a blue light stopped it. Under the effect of the blue light, a chunk of the ’Golden Avalanche’ directly disappeared.

”Hmm?”

The shadow in the sand withdrew its hand, and as the ’Golden Avalanche’ washed over the blue light, it gradually dissipated, dissolving into the most basic essence of destruction.

”Destruction Form?”

...

”Brother Gao, someone sent us a letter.”

Early in the morning, just as Gao Gong was about to go out, he received a letter from Fat Xiang.

”Nowadays, someone still handwrites letters, so vintage?”

Gao Gong opened it to find beautifully written text inviting him to visit next door.

”Bionic Physiology Research Expert, Yi Yun.”

Yi Yun? Gao Gong seems to have heard this name somewhere before. It seems like Yi Yun is a famous scientist in the Bionic Realm, responsible for designing several models of bionic men, a name listed among talents in Super Corporation’s database.

”His wife is nice. When I was running in the morning, she even offered me a baozi she made,” Fat Xiang said earnestly.

”It’s not surprising for such a super expert to live here.”

The autonomous flying car was already parked at the entrance. In the Other Shore of Freedom, everyone could call a special car, and it’s all free.

When Fat Xiang squeezed into the back seat, the rear of the car noticeably sank a bit.

”Hello, onboard intelligent Doggy is at your service. Please state your destination—”

”Deep Net.”

”Alright, please fasten your seatbelt. If you encounter issues such as a modified flying car, gravity device malfunction, hacker intrusion, the ejection system will ensure your safety.”

”Brother Gao, are we going to Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division Headquarters?”

Inside the car, Fat Xiang asked curiously.

After a comfortable night’s sleep, he thought he would need to start working today.

”No hurry, who rushes to work? Besides, my Mother City Reward hasn’t been redeemed yet.”

During the corporate war, Gao Gong went all-out and earned a total of 122000 points at the Mother City Trading Point.

This is quite a substantial number.

Moreover, unlike the Mother City Trading Point and Mechanical Coin, it is a super currency capable of directly trading with the Planet Host, allowing for the exchange of resources and technology not even available on this planet.

Gao Gong plans to use this to acquire a complete set of Martial God Armor for himself.

Thinking of this, he opened up the personal panel again—

Personal System (Mechanical): 131%

Sports System: 78%

Neural System: 14%

Endocrine System: 3%

Circulatory System: 15%

Respiratory System: 9%

Digestive System: 3%

Urogenital System: 2%

Reproductive System: 7%

Level 40, the upper limit of human transformation is 200%.

For every increase of 10 levels, the transformation rate releases a portion, which is 25% at level 10, 50% at level 20, 50% at level 30, and 75% at level 40, respectively.

Altogether, it precisely totals 200%.

As the level increases, these transformation rates continue to release until level 90, reaching 800%, the peak.

Each human body system’s transformation limit is 100%, totaling 800% overall.

Most of Gao Gong’s mechanical transformation is concentrated in the ’Sports System’, specifically the human skeletal structure.

This is not surprising; from the perspective of robots, many human body systems are unnecessary, such as the Urogenital System, Reproductive System, Endocrine System, and Circulatory System.

This is also the most difficult aspect of achieving 100% transformation.

Some human body systems you want to transform, but the ’transformation rate’ is full.

Some human body systems you don’t want to transform, but to achieve 100% transformation, you have no choice.

For instance, Gao Gong seriously pondered over the Reproductive System. In the cosmic mechanical race, there might not be one in ten that has this feature, making it a headache to fill this system.

We can’t just blindly modify it; Director Du would cry.

Conversely, in the Biological System, this system is very easy to fill.

But these are matters for the future.

Now, Gao Gong only wants to use the Mother City’s channels to properly equip his body with several pieces of Martial God Armor.

It’s best to directly fill the Personal System.

With a transformation rate of 69%, he needs to think carefully.

...

The Deep Net is an hour’s drive from the Other Shore of Freedom, with a vast river of virtual and reality in between, also known as the Black and White River.

Half of this river is real water, rushing with white waves crashing into the sky, while the other half is waste data streams discharged from the Deep Net, virtual data transformed into a waste stream. Due to the excessive waste data discharge, it has exceeded the processing capacity of the virtual level, gradually rejecting the real-level river water, occupying half of the riverbed.

The Deep Net is very special. To be precise, all three major Mother Cities are special. For example, Cybertron is a mechanical satellite, the Fortress stores most of the virtual personalities on this planet, resembling a storage center.

The uniqueness of the Deep Net lies in its being the first city where virtual and reality completely fuse.

Of course, as the Electronic Brain Plan unfolds, the blending of virtual space and reality will eventually transform all cities into the image of the ’Deep Net’.

Virtual data conduits paved the city’s ground, making it appear as if the entire city were a gigantic holographic projection. Realistically, tall buildings were generated in place as data was imported.

This is the city’s unique ’virtual architecture’, where its existence is akin to a data processing center. Some Neural Editors can ’work online’, greatly enhancing work efficiency.

Besides, in the Deep Net, there are some physically significant skyscrapers, with their surfaces full of thick conduits. The more advanced the building, the more conduits are inserted.

”Brother Gao, what’s with these pipes in the building? Is it in a critical condition?” Fat Xiang’s imagination remained wild.

”These are Deep Net’s unique network buildings. Through this network, the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division and leading Mother City mobile forces can connect globally at any time, deploying combat prosthetic bodies to execute combat missions. This encrypted connection can also effectively prevent hacker attacks,” explained the Artificial Intelligence dog.

”It looks familiar,” Fat Xiang looked at the data conduits as thick as water tanks, suddenly stunned, exclaiming, ”Brother Gao, isn’t this a brain-machine interface, and it’s wired?”

”All applied technologies are not created out of thin air. Beforehand, they must go through numerous technical trials. Undoubtedly, the Mother City is such a place,” Gao Gong casually said.

”Really interesting.”

Fat Xiang widened his eyes, looking outside. The Mother City also flickered with ’Neon Radiance’, but unlike the Mechanical City, where scams and holographic ads abound, dozens of searchlight-like beams occasionally flashed by in the slightly dim urban environment.

”What’s that?”

”Backup data of a certain advanced AI, a backup of corporate commercial data, or even a person.”

”A person?”

”Yes, doesn’t our family have an ’Consciousness Upload’ device? Where did you think these ’consciousnesses’ were uploaded to?”

”Turns out it’s like this!” Fat Xiang felt that his eyes were truly opened this time.

”Sir, are you really not going to the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division?” Miss Ke’s voice suddenly sounded.

Gao Gong looked up, saw the building with the highest floor, and the most conduits, then calmly lowered his head again.

”Didn’t we agree on three days? Only one day has passed, what’s the rush.”

”Understood, sir. Everything will proceed according to your arrangements.”
