Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 745: Chapter 270: Explanation

Gao Gong then looked at ’Little Lady No. 2’ and ’Keramos’.

”You two come over too, there are some things I want to talk to you about.”

”Us?”

Their surprised expressions hadn’t faded when the scene changed to a rundown hospital appearing before them.

”Huh? This is—”

Though ’Little Lady No. 2’ wore ’Huang Yuanli’s’ face, her aura was completely different, much more intelligent, and she immediately sensed something was wrong here.

”Such an advanced information field!”

Ye the Big Lolita was also surprised because this ’illusion’ somewhat resembled her own ’Dark Space’.

’Could it be that they have also mastered some peculiar energy?’

Once inside, the appearances of the three women all changed.

’Little Lady No. 2’s’ body became transparent, and from time to time, limbs of Radiation Beasts would squeeze out, some terrifyingly large, but as soon as they emerged, they quickly vanished into nothingness.

Meanwhile, Keramos, this tall beauty, became even taller, nearly three meters, with her arms and legs invisible, leaving only segments of a white worm body topped with a woman’s head, her eyes bulging out, making her look even more uncanny.

As for Ye the Big Lolita, her eyes turned pitch black, with at least half of her body merging into the darkness, and the other half seemed as if it could dissolve at any moment.

The three women glanced at each other, their expressions somewhat perplexed, a shared thought running through their minds.

Though we’re all monsters, you really do look quite strange.

”Let’s go.”

Gao Gong proceeded first.

”How come you haven’t changed?” Ye the Big Lolita asked curiously.

”In an advanced information field, lower-level information returns to its original form. You three, being a Brain-in-a-Vat, Biological Computer, and Super Mutant, reverting to your original forms is quite normal. As for me—”

Gao Gong paused, his figure suddenly becoming transparent like a ’glass man’, with each ’glass’ reflecting different scenes, but after just three breaths, the ’glass man’ returned to normal.

”I’m a bit special and can change back.”

Ye the Big Lolita suspiciously scrutinized him, wondering if this man was fooling them again, implying that the ’information’ on him was more formidable than the advanced information field or at least on par.

Gao Gong ignored their thoughts, leading the three to the inpatient department, riding an elevator to the ninth floor, and then entering a ward.

Throughout the process, not a single nurse was seen.

But the three faintly felt a perverse gaze intermittently watching them, making their hair stand on end.

At the ward’s entrance, Gao Gong pushed the door open. There were two hospital beds in the room.

On one bed sat an expressionless old man, exuding a terrifying aura.

The other lay a smoking skull.

But whether it was the old man or the skull, the impression they gave was only one—monster!

”Is your Du Gao Technology a monster paradise, adding two more monsters?” Ye the Big Lolita remarked subconsciously, surprised.

”Do you recognize this person? Remember the owner of the ninth-layer Data Cloud at Knight’s High Ground?”

”It’s him? He’s not dead!?” Ye the Big Lolita was even more astonished.

She had already learned from Holy Brain Group channels about the fall of three ’Electronic Ascenders’, but seeing this, at least one ’Electronic Ascender’ was still alive and hidden.

This meant Du Gao Group had gained another top-level combatant.

For a moment, Ye the Big Lolita didn’t know whether to feel happy or worried.

”This is the founder of ’Soul Recognition Technology’, Skull.”

Gao Gong pointed to the other ’patient’.

Ye the Big Lolita thought for a moment and remembered that ’Soul Recognition Technology’, a small but well-known information enterprise, had rapidly developed over the past two years, gradually showing the potential of a next-generation ’Super Corporation’.

This ’nascent giant’ also fell into his hands?

”Initially, I wanted to kill him, but later I changed my mind. At this juncture, having an additional advanced combatant on the Virtual Level isn’t bad; in the inevitable future super crisis, an extra person means extra strength.”

Gao Gong paused and said:

”So the things in his head, I’ll retrieve them once he’s fully repaired.”

”Future inevitable super crisis?” ’Little Lady No. 2’ caught the key point.

Gao Gong nodded, scanning the hospital: ”I was considering how to tell you, after all, it should have evolved from ’Unconscious Stage’ to ’Conscious Stage’ by now, like dreaming. In a half-awake state, calling its name might make it hear us, or not, and I’m not taking that risk.”

”Fortunately, with ’Ancient Information’ as an ’Advanced Information Field’ as a shield, it can somewhat obscure its perception, at least isolating the ’Memory Worm Eggs’ on us.”

Gao Gong glanced at the three’s current states, nodding with satisfaction.

The three women were struggling to keep up with Gao Gong’s thought process.

Super crisis, worm eggs, ’Unconscious Stage’, ’Conscious Stage’, what on earth is this?

It was Keramos, the ’King of Deep Sea Leeches’, who first spoke up.

”The super crisis you speak of, is it an insect-like monster? Has it already laid eggs on us?”

”Correct understanding.”

”How come I didn’t know this?” ’Little Lady No. 2’ questioned. As a Brain-in-a-Vat, there should be no reason she wasn’t aware of a newly emerged Radiation Beast Bloodline on this planet.

”Because it is extremely powerful.”

”How powerful?”

Gao Gong thought for a moment: ”Upon descent, it’s roughly a level stronger than the ’Planet Host’.”

”...” Ye the Big Lolita

”...” Keramos

”...” Little Lady No. 2

If it weren’t for the fact that they confirmed this person in front of them was the real deal, just that one sentence would have led the three of them to believe he was a cyber psychosis patient.

Although in a strict sense, his ’illness’ was worse.

”You might as well start from the beginning,” ’Little Lady No. 2’ said seriously. If it were Huang Yuanli, she might have called a doctor by now.

”Where should I start? Let’s start with the Minister of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division faking his death...”

He didn’t intend to reveal his identity as a ’Transmigrator’, even though from a cosmic perspective, ’Time Travelers’ are not non-existent, but after all, this is the ’Newbie Village’, and having a version that’s too advanced isn’t good.

But he didn’t lie either, instead, he chose a different angle, starting from the perspective of ’Aramaki’.

From the collaboration of the Minister of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division with the ruler of the Bionic Realm to investigate the Cloud Nobility...

Aramaki discovered something was amiss in the world.

He began to fake his death to investigate the reasons.

Then he discovered the Tier 5 Cosmic Information Monster ’Memory Mother’.

After that, he started secretly recruiting allies to resolve this world crisis.

In this process, Gao Gong became his ally.

Throughout the story, Gao Gong didn’t tell a single lie.

Aramaki was indeed recruiting allies, otherwise, he wouldn’t have become the ’Minister of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’.

”You want to become the Minister of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division!?”

Ye the Big Lolita was taken aback. In this cyber era, super corporations are equivalent to rulers of half the world, but the only entity they truly feared, even more than the Mother City, was the special division ’Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’.

This department wields enormous power. Whenever they want, they can take anyone away, anytime, anywhere.

What’s scarier is that the people in this department recognize no kinship, no amount of persuasion works, and countless financial oligarchs and corporate executives have perished in their hands.

Letting this guy become the leader of that department seemed utterly absurd to Ye the Big Lolita.

How does he deserve, how does he qualify to become Minister?

If this guy becomes Minister, won’t he come after me?

Ye the Big Lolita finally understood why the super corporations of the Southern Hemisphere were so agreeable.

Gao Gong said helplessly, ”I say, can you focus on the point here? Are we discussing this now?”

”You’re talking about an information disaster covering the entire planet,” ’Little Lady No. 2’ said seriously.

”Yes, it’s even more dangerous than that ’Brain-in-a-Vat’ of yours.”

Gao Gong glanced around and said:

”In fact, after the descent of the Memory Mother, the first to be contaminated will be those most closely linked to the information level, such as the ’Brain-in-a-Vat’ ruling the Radiation Ecology, the ’winners’ of the Electronic Brain Plan, and the ’large-scale biological computer’, these entities will be wiped out in the first wave, without any other possibility.”

Gao Gong named the three of them.

Upon hearing this, even Ye the Big Lolita, who kept murmuring ’eat, take, card, demand’, stopped murmuring altogether, feeling a bit skeptical, a bit shocked.

”Is it true?”

”Would I bother using ’world crisis’ to trick you?”

”With your personality, it’s very possible.”

The other two nodded seriously as well.

I’ve been really holding back in this life, alright? My personality is only at negative 21 points so far.

Not even three digits!!

”It’s very simple to confirm if it’s true; after the Electronic Brain Plan is over, you can see if I become the ’Minister of the Ghost in the Shell Mobile Division’ or not.”

Seeing Gao Gong so serious, ’Little Lady No. 2’ finally began to worry.

”Is it really unavoidable?”

”Just like how Radiation Beasts can’t escape your control, we also can’t escape its control.”

”But according to what you said, it wasn’t so strong from the start,” ’Little Lady No. 2’ asked.

”That’s indeed the case, the Unconscious Stage, Conscious Stage, Feeding Stage, Growth Stage, Butterfly Stage, at most it is in the second phase now.”

”So is there any means to control it now?”

”No, not to mention we don’t have one, even the Planet Host doesn’t have one; we can only watch it grow stronger little by little, finally entering the ’Butterfly Stage’.”

Gao Gong stated a very harsh truth.

Information Life, without information weapons of the same level, cannot be resisted, this is a fact.

”But if destruction is destined, then what’s the point of you telling us this?”

”The destruction of the world doesn’t mean we have to be destroyed along with it,” Gao Gong paused: ”Moreover, we might have no way before it reaches its Peak Stage, but after it reaches its Peak Stage, it doesn’t mean we still won’t have a way.”

The three exchanged glances, what kind of statement is that?

Not being able to deal with it before the Peak Stage, how would you after it reaches Peak Stage?

Isn’t this contradictory?

Gao Gong shook his head, unwilling to explain further, the more he explained, the more likely he’d expose something.

The universe’s four major systems, Mechanical Realm, Carbon-Based Sequence, Energy Realm, Information Ocean, each has its own characteristics.

The world grows larger and larger

The sequence, the earlier, the stronger

The realms wage continuous battles

The deeper into the ocean, the more treacherous it becomes

Advanced Information Life, due to its high instability, is the only existence capable of being overthrown from below.

This is considered a characteristic of the system as well.
