Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 725: Chapter 250: Boss Beatdown Series

Anyone who has been through the workplace knows, when your boss says, ’Handle it yourself’, it usually means you’re going to take the fall.

So, Chaston was feeling quite peeved.

If everything goes smoothly, the Research Association could benefit from the ’Electronic Brain Plan’, then gifting a top-level development technology is just fine.

But on the flip side, if nothing is gained in the end, there’s a good chance the punishment will be doubled.

Faced with this situation, Chaston wasn’t in a hurry anymore; he squinted his eyes at their chairman.

He didn’t believe that the other party was truly a lazy bum.

So the question is—

What exactly does the old man want?

”Chaston, have you thought it through?” Gao Gong suddenly asked.

”I’ve thought it through, I’m willing to follow the chairman’s arrangement,” Chaston said decisively, contrary to his usual behavior.

”That’s good then.”

Gao Gong smiled slightly:

”Then I’ll make a trip, but don’t hold too much hope.”

Purple light flashed, and Gao Gong vanished from the spot.

No surveillance device could figure out how Gao Gong disappeared.

”Is the rumor true?”

Many people looked with strange expressions, rumored that their chairman had the ability to teleport anywhere at any time.

If that’s really the case, then it’s terrifying!

At the junction of the ’Northern and Southern Hemispheres’, a ’little black dot’ was suddenly marked out.

”The chairman has appeared!”

...

Like the ’equator’ of some Blue Star, the Mechanical Split Star also has its ’Northern and Southern Hemisphere Boundary’, only it’s called the ’Split Realm’.

The origin of this term is untraceable, but it’s said to be related to the world wars before the ’Second World War’.

It was through those world wars that the territorial boundaries of this planet in the Civilization Era were established.

And the Split Realm is similar to the equator in some ways.

For example, both are low-pressure zones, densely packed with islands along the way, and before the continental plates were destroyed, it was connected with most of this planet’s planet-level topography.

But now, it’s one of the most radiation energy dense sea areas on this planet.

The oceanic climate sweeps up the radiation from the seabed, forming the planet’s unique ’Radiation Storm’.

And the chain of islands here is also one of the forward bases for Du Gao Group’s expansion, with large mechas like steel city walls stationed at the northern hemisphere’s frontline, using their steel shells to block the roaring waves.

As long as the southern hemisphere hasn’t produced a victor for a day.

Then, for a day, they cannot use long-range weapons to bombard these northern hemisphere mecha bases.

[You have entered a high radiation zone, Blood Volume recovery +100 points/second]

[You have entered a high radiation zone, your organism enters charging state, Biological Energy recovery 100 points/second]

Gao Gong glanced ahead, seeing countless mecha armies standing densely packed on the island chain.

Behind, various maritime equipment continued to transport mechas endlessly.

”Wow, that’s fierce,”

Gao Gong looked up at the sky, mainly at the surveillance satellite in the sky, and gave a confident smile.

Then he landed in front of a mecha, patting its head.

”Hey hey, who’s in charge here, come out and let’s have a chat.”

A series of ’zzz’ sounds rang out.

Then a rather sharp voice sounded.

”Chat my foot, who are you!?”

It was the voice of the ’Little Woman’.

Gao Gong lazily said:

”Huang Yuanli, don’t you even recognize your boss anymore?”

”Sorry, our boss is President Du, some ungrateful little wolfhound doesn’t count.”

”Damn, Little Woman, don’t think that just because you’re short I can’t beat you up, come over if you dare.”

”You come over!”

”You tiny three-inch!”

”You big-tailed wolf!!”

”You 007 working stiff!!”

”You useless hands-off manager!!”

The two started swearing at each other across the sea.

And the surveillance machines faithfully recorded this, many people, especially members of the Research Association, had a big question mark in their minds.

Does our chairman have any authority at all?

Meanwhile, at the joint operations base of Du Gao Technology and Holy Brain Group, besides Little Woman spraying profusely, others couldn’t help but look at each other in dismay.

”Isn’t it not good to treat a consultant like this?” A Super Hunter said, clearly an old member of the Cable Tribe.

”Then you persuade her,” Qin Zhenzi stood with arms crossed, signaling him to look at Huang Yuanli in the distance.

”Hah, persuade Sister Yuanli? Better forget it, I fear getting beaten.”

”Now what?”

Another person looked up and said.

”General Quel at the frontline asked, should we halt the offensive now?”

Several executives of Du Gao Group looked at each other, unable to make a decision.

”Notify President Du.”

Soon, President Du’s secretary, Little Doudou, came down with a peculiar expression and said:

”President Du said, the plan remains unchanged; and to carry out a special operation plan.”

”Special operation plan, how special?” Dr. Rong wondered.

”Capture Mr. G alive!”

...

Gao Gong was blowing the sea breeze, arguing with Little Woman across a new type of sea beast-type mecha for a full ten minutes.

Suddenly, a strong sense of alertness rose in his heart.

The voice of the artificial intelligence inside the mecha sounded—

’Weapon system activated’

’Engine charging’

’Combat chip activating—’

”Hey hey hey, what are you all doing? I’m the boss, are you really going to attack me?”

Gao Gong shouted exaggeratedly, but his eyes flickered with a hint of amusement.

At the next moment, the mecha suddenly lifted its panel, and two mechanical claws shot out, their target directly aiming at Gao Gong.

Gao Gong quite easily dodged it, but his expression seemed to look more ’irritated’.

The next moment, ten large mechas soared into the air, the mechanical energy of these mechas all breaking the ’million’ mark, which in Radiation Beast terms, was of ’A-level’ standard.

This is the latest super mecha from Du Gao Technology—the Pioneer.

On these ten Pioneers, barrels revealed themselves, and the specially designed targeting systems all locked onto Gao Gong.

”Are you really going to fight me?”

Gao Gong grasped his hand, his full-level military hacker secondary job, triggering large-scale hacking traits—’Secondary Infection’, ’High-speed Cracking’, ’Virtual Invasion’. These three hacking skills activated almost simultaneously.

Secondary Infection: Causes a minor virus intrusion to the target, this skill effect can spread to all targets within a 10-meter radius, allowing for secondary infections, infection cap: 5 times.

Note: This skill effect can be combined with other hacker skills.

High-speed Cracking: Deconstructs targets like Electronic Defense Walls, at a deconstruction speed ten times that of Virtual Invasion, causing infection-style cracking on integrated electronic defense walls/distributed electronic defense walls.

Virtual Invasion (Modified) (Expert Level): A carefully modified invasion protocol by a genius teenage hacker, invasion speed +40%, cooldown time for quick cracking on Humanoid AI -30%.

In an instant, the electronic eyes of the large mechas flickered on and off, and the ’targeting systems’ generated various garbled codes.

”Still not quite right.”

”Who are you saying isn’t doing well?”

One of the mechas suddenly had a flash of human-like expression in its eyes, the handheld energy cannon swung nimbly, a thick laser accurately aimed at someone.

”Huh? Isn’t this an unmanned mecha?”

Gao Gong’s ’Energy Block Arm’ also swung back, a large energy shield appeared, blocking the shot.

”And that voice, Xiaoju?”

Gao Gong had some impression of several genius mecha drivers in his faction.

Moreover, this Xiaoju was also an old member of the Cable Tribe.

”I thought you’d be out of a job once the unmanned mechas were developed,” Gao Gong quipped.

”Sorry, I’m not Xiaoju, but Xiaoju·Consciousness Package 4.0 version.”

Another mecha suddenly spoke with the same voice.

A dozen mecha arms shot out electrically, ’Energy Light Blades’ popped out, slicing towards Gao Gong, this ’mosquito’, from various tricky angles.

These energy blades slashed, seemingly silently, yet were more dangerous than a Sound Burst Slash, because the actions a mecha could perform were more complex than a human.

”Are you Xiaoju too?”

Gao Gong focused a bit more, but still asked in confusion:

”I don’t remember our faction ever dabbling in human cloning.”

”Consciousness Package Technology, it’s Consciousness Package Technology, Boss! Don’t you have the slightest impression of me?”

An irritating voice echoed from inside the mecha.

”Host Brain?”

”Yeah, Boss, I’ve combined Neuro Editing Group’s Consciousness Package Technology with some artificial intelligence algorithms, creating the current ’Mecha Consciousness Package’.

Once hacked, these mechas will cut off the network and enter ’Consciousness Package Mode’, these consciousness packages are equivalent to temporary data personalities, mastering 80% of the original mecha manipulator’s operational skills.”

”Xiaoju’s mecha operation can be ranked among the top three with us.”

Gao Gong’s mouth twitched slightly.

”So, that means I now have to deal with ten Xiaoju’s?”

”Hehe, didn’t I do a great job, Boss?”

The Host Brain let out a strange laugh:

”And, not ten, but a hundred.”

Another ninety ’Pioneers’ soared into the air.

Faced with the onslaught of so many ’Million-Level Mechas’, each manipulated by one-in-a-million experts, even Gao Gong found himself a bit flustered.

”Your efficiency is too high!”

Gao Gong gritted his teeth.

The [Consciousness Package Technology] was indeed faction black technology, resulting in such an abnormal effect, not surprising after all.

But should you wage workers have to work so hard?

The corporate war isn’t over yet, and new tech is already installed?

”Hehe, I just wanted to perform well in the new company.”

”...”

For a moment, Gao Gong’s emotions were rather complex.

”Wait,” Gao Gong suddenly said, ”You just mentioned temporary data personalities, meaning these ’Fake Chrysanthemums’ have limited uptime, right.”

”Of course, the ’Consciousness Package’ can only be downloaded, once downloading ends, the uptime ends too.”

The Host Brain’s tone shifted:

”However, the exact duration in the current adversarial mode, I can’t tell you.”

”Heh, traitor.”

Gao Gong said coldly.

Then a high-pitched scream eighteen degrees higher came from the communication device.

”You’re the damn traitor!!!!”

Oh, sorry, almost forgot, I’m the traitor here.

This damned protagonist immersion.

’Better take control of the situation first.’

Though the Great Serpent Mode can’t be used now, ’Transformation’ is still possible.

In an instant, A-level Bloodline ’Mother of Darkness’ Mode activated.

Gao Gong appeared like a black sun, dark light absorbed inward, then exploded outward from his core, sweeping away all surrounding mechas.

This special ’Black Radiation Light’ had an interception effect on energy.

In other words, it could directly cut off the internal energy supply system of the mecha.

Sure enough, with this move, the Pioneer mechas fell like rain.

Yet what surprised Gao Gong was, these mechas didn’t sink into the sea, but stopped at 2000 meters before managing a shaky control of their bodies.

Other mechanical modules still ’buzzed’, but the chest X-Type Reactor grew brighter, directly controlling all mechanical systems.

Seeing the familiar ’X’ type, Gao Gong’s mouth twitched slightly.

The only difference between this and the X-Type Reactor in his chest—

Was that his reactor was only fist-sized, while theirs was as big as a water barrel.

So this thing could already be mass-produced.

He finally knew where their ’Million-Level’ mechanical energy was coming from.

The real high technology was ’mass-producible’ high technology.

Simultaneously, a Tier 2: Ordinary mission was triggered.

The mission name was quite frustrating—

[Beat the Boss Series One]

Is this damn thing a chain mission too?
