Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 719: Chapter 244: The Balance Plan

This time, Gao Gong reaped quite a bit from the corporate war.

Let’s not even mention the experience, specialization points, and skill points.

Just the Mother City Trading Point alone gave him 67,000 points, which could be exchanged for ’Black Technology’ and the coveted ’Martial God Armor’.

In addition to these,

Gao Gong also acquired two Tier 3 Civilization Architectures.

Tier 3 Civilization Architecture - Sawtooth

Tier 3 Civilization Architecture - Nest Repairer

And various blueprints — Level 2 Civilization Super Technology [Consciousness Package Technology], Tier 2 Civilization Super Technology [AT Force Field], faction-exclusive architecture: Mechanical Brain Data Transmission Center, over a thousand pieces of Biomechanical Technology data, six kinds of enemy transformation technologies, and five faction blueprints...

These things, in any faction, are extremely valuable supplements,

And now, as the ’Electronic Brain Plan’ winner has been selected for the Northern Hemisphere.

Gao Gong understood, the good times are over.

The brutal knockout round had begun.

As the Holy Brain Group enters the third phase, it can freely attack any company in the Southern Hemisphere.

As long as a dominant company isn’t selected for the Southern Hemisphere, the five companies can only defend, not attack.

This system ensures that whoever enters the third phase first has a high probability of winning.

Gao Gong peeked through the curtains at the distance, as, due to the unification of ’Electronic Brain Infrastructure,’ in the real world, data illusions would appear from time to time, like an upside-down city, a sudden group of ’humans’, and some thoughts and ideas that don’t belong to oneself.

And now, above the clouds, only the Black Tide remained, sometimes covering the city beneath him like mist, then slowly receding.

In the Black Tide, faint silver-bell-like laughter could be heard.

”Playing tricks.”

Gao Gong showed disdain.

But now, ’Ye the Big Lolita’ was no weaker than any ’Destruction Form.’

He had said that Xuanyuan X’s level was about the same as the peak of ’Ye the Big Lolita.’

But that was only if he fully recovered.

Right now, the Big Lolita was probably monitoring all enemies by using one electronic brain after another.

Gao Gong turned his head, the entire meeting room was packed, full of ’members’ of the Research Association.

The executives from 30 companies, not a single one missing, and they all came in person, each eagerly looking at Gao Gong.

Their purpose could be summed up in one sentence—

If the gentleman doesn’t act, what can the world do!!!

Gao Gong rubbed his nose and chuckled.

”It’s rare for everyone to gather, why not have a barbecue together later?”

A big-bearded executive said seriously:

”Mr. G, it’s time for you to step up, the Research Association needs you!”

Another executive immediately followed up:

”Our 30 companies, 30 members, all the military force, all the resources, are at your disposal!”

”Indeed, at this critical moment, only if you step up can we resist that terrifying ’Ms. Ye.’

”For the rise and fall of the Research Association, we implore you to take action personally, we can raise another 100 billion Mechanical Coins, no, 200 billion!”

”Mr. G...”

Gao Gong looked at them with amusement, stroked his chin, and suddenly said:

”Did you forget something? I am the founder of Du Gao Technology, and Du Gao Technology is the only designated mercenary corps for the Holy Brain Group.”

”What illusion makes you think my allegiance lies with you?”

Everyone’s expression froze.

Yes, he was a partner of the Holy Brain Group, and the Holy Brain Group was the winner of the Northern Hemisphere.

Following the winner has a high probability of winning the electronic brain war.

A member, unwilling to give up, said:

”But Chairman, what about our Research Association?”

Gao Gong said in surprise:

”Isn’t our Research Association a neutral technology R&D organization, with technology collaboration and shared outcomes, didn’t I make it clear when we founded it?”

”But our members aren’t neutral.”

”That’s why I haven’t stopped you,” Gao Gong was even more surprised, ”look, you’ve engaged in brain-machine collaborations, military cooperations, joint operations, did I say anything? I haven’t opposed it!”

Everyone fell silent again.

Indeed, he hadn’t opposed it, and his Hacker Corps even helped a great deal secretly.

”Your hackers—”

”I’m not, I didn’t, don’t talk nonsense,” Gao Gong quickly denied.

”I’m a law-abiding citizen, I don’t know any hackers, and whatever those hackers do is their business, has nothing to do with me, don’t blame me!”

Gao Gong paused, and continued: ”I’m planning to apply to become a Mother City citizen, my records can’t be tarnished.”

”Then what exactly is your goal?”

A high-ranked executive, with a brain-machine hole at the back of his head, finally couldn’t resist anymore.

A female executive sitting at the back suddenly felt a sharp pain in her nerves and couldn’t help but rub her temples. Using the reflection from the table, she realized that her eyes had become pitch black, and more importantly, a powerful spiritual force had penetrated in, easily demolishing her brain-machine firewall.

”Hehehe—”

A burst of laughter suddenly came.

The female executive stood up at some point, her eyes pitch black, her expression peculiar.

The distinct spiritual fluctuation further triggered this building’s ’defense system’.

”There’s an intruder!”

”There’s an intruder!!”

Various hidden defensive weapons emerged from the walls and ceiling, their dark muzzles aimed at the counterpart.

”Ms. Xu?”

A familiar executive couldn’t help but speak.

”My surname is not Xu; it’s Ye.”

With a cold demeanor, the sharp-featured female executive directed her gaze at Gao Gong, a playful look on her face.

”Mr. G, we meet again.”

”Tsk, tsk, hello, Ms. Ye.”

Gao Gong felt the other party’s spiritual power had evolved; at least before, they couldn’t have spanned half a planet to invade a human brain.

”The Dark Witch of the Holy Brain Group?!”

The executives present turned pale; some even took several steps back in fear.

There was no doubt that everyone present had heard of her infamous reputation.

”I prefer being called Ms. Ye.”

’Ye the Big Lolita’ glanced lightly at the speaking executive, and in the next moment, his facial features started to bleed, and he began to retch on the spot.

Gao Gong knocked on the table and spoke,

”I say, could you not kill people on my turf?”

The executive possessed by ’Ye the Big Lolita’ indeed stopped, with high heels clicking on the ground. She walked to Gao Gong’s side, placed one hand on his shoulder, and said with a radiant smile.

”It seems everyone has been so busy waging war lately that the financial news has been overlooked.”

”Let me inform you all of a piece of good news: Du Gao Technology has spent 150 billion to acquire 11.2% of the Holy Brain Group’s shares, thus becoming a strategic partner of the ’Holy Brain Group’.”

Most people present were taken aback, clearly unaware of this news.

”Therefore, you must understand that the Holy Brain Group and Du Gao Technology are no longer merely in an ’employer-employee’ relationship but true comrades-in-arms. Do you think our Mr. G would sell out his own people’s interests for a small favor?”

Everyone present remained silent.

”So, my personal suggestion is that the various houses of the Research Association can rely on Mr. G’s connection to sign cooperation contracts with our Holy Brain Group, becoming our brain-machine component suppliers.”

’Ye the Big Lolita’ smiled and said.

”This opportunity comes only once; it will be invalid the next time.”

In the next moment, the female executive shivered all over, regaining her senses. Looking around in confusion, she saw the meeting room members all looking at her with complex expressions.

After a moment of silence, Gao Gong cleared his throat and said:

”I believe all of you understand that I, Person G, have my difficulties. I think I need to recuse myself.”

”Here’s the thing, as the ’Chairman’, although I have a veto, I’ve decided to forfeit my power in the ’Electronic Brain Plan’.”

”The minority will obey the majority. Whatever decision you make here, I will choose not to ’veto’, even if you decide to take action against the Holy Brain Group, I will not object.”

”And as chairman, my only duty is to ensure the survival of our ’Research Association’!”

The meeting ended in silence.

Most members wore heavy expressions.

To try to steal a chicken only to lose the rice used to lure it was perhaps the best way to describe it at this moment.

Without a chairman, who would confront that monster? This was a question concerning survival.

...

Gao Gong strolled leisurely back to his office, pondering what to do to kill time. Suddenly, he sensed a familiar spiritual fluctuation and sighed.

”Why are you here again? Didn’t you just say everything you wanted to?”

A female employee directly pushed the door open, and seeing her pitch-black eyes, one would know she was again possessed by Ye the Big Lolita.

’Ye the Big Lolita’ wasn’t polite, sitting unceremoniously opposite Gao Gong and grabbing a fruit cultivated from the Asteroid Belt to munch on.

”So delicious. I wouldn’t dare eat randomly at the Holy Brain Group.”

While eating, ’Ye the Big Lolita’ said:

”I know what’s on your mind. Isn’t it just to stir the pot? Whichever company has the potential to unite the electronic brain market of the Southern Hemisphere, you’ll suppress it, like playing whack-a-mole.”

”This way, nobody wins, but nobody wants to lose either, so to avoid losing, everyone will accept a more compromised technical solution, like the ’Virtual Helmet’, right?”

”In the seventeen corporate wars, there have been only two instances during the third stage where two social reform plans were deadlocked, and in the end, the Mother City decided that the corporate war would end in a draw, with both reform plans carrying out a social transformation simultaneously.”

”Isn’t this what you want?”

Nobody is foolish, huh.

Gao Gong marveled.

He had only hinted a little, and the other party realized his plan for a balance strategy.

The Electronic Brain Plan must have a victor, and it cannot be the ’Virtual Helmet’ plan.

Because the way ’Virtual Helmets’ connect and disconnect at will has the computation power among all plans ranking at the bottom, the Mother City wouldn’t allow ’global computational power enhancement’ to become inefficient.

However, he also couldn’t admit defeat, leaving aside the ’Boss Template Task’, the most important point.

Only the technical route of the ’Virtual Helmet’ can create the ’Information Security House’.

Without the Information Security House, once the Memory Mother descends, this planet will be completely doomed.
