Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 724: Chapter 249: Sky Fortress

Ever since experiencing the battle with the thirteen-route mercenary army of the Eternal Financial Group, and turning the tide in a way that no one dared to believe.

Du Gao Technology has become the hot commodity in today’s mercenary market.

No one doubts the power of their mecha army anymore, instead there’s a surge in ’orders’.

Director Du has also proven one thing, and that is unless there is a ’civilization-level’ difference, or possessing universe-level bugs like giant structures or relics, the advantage of mass production will always crush everyone.

But now Gao Gong is a bit embarrassed.

The female executives of the group don’t give him any face and actually attack the research association.

It’s not just the research association being attacked; to be precise, all five ’third-stage competitive influences’ in the Southern Hemisphere— all of Mechanical City are being invaded by the mecha army.

”Are these women crazy?” Gao Gong muttered secretly, then couldn’t help but ask curiously: ”How many mechas did they deploy?”

”According to satellite positioning, at least a million.”

”Oh, my gosh.”

Gao Gong could imagine the assembly lines of the unmanned factory running day and night, with various large mechanical parts, under the control of Director Du, assembled and debugged with maximum efficiency and then sent to the battlefield.

A senior member opened a holographic display.

On the sea, each sea beast-type mecha waded through the waters, mouths wide open, with energy cannons flashing almost nonstop.

In the sky, a massive flock of mechanical birds attacked each corporate base, those bird flocks are also a type of ’unmanned mecha’.

Presumably, the group’s internal mecha technology has advanced again, and now they’ve combined the characteristics of ’mechas’ and ’radiation beasts’ to produce a variety of models.

Gao Gong stealthily glanced at the alliance panel.

Beast-type mecha: Type 1351, Human-form mecha: Type 134

”Where did they get so much advanced technology to develop so many special models of mecha?”

One senior manager couldn’t help but despair.

Mass production is one thing; mecha development is another.

”I think, maybe there’s some anomaly secretly helping them.”

Gao Gong rubbed his nose.

Who else could it be, it must be that Brain-in-a-Vat character.

This guy can be considered a ’large-scale biological computer’, and being a ’radiation species model’, having such a radiation beast spy who can dissect all biological structures and principles, it’s no wonder the development of the ’radiation beast mecha’ technology has been so rapid.

”Also, Du Gao Technology was only established for three years, even with special abilities in military weapon development, how do they handle the ’control center’ needed for operating so many unmanned mechas?”

A member couldn’t help but ask.

”This level of data processing technology, based on my guess, it’s probably some old gentleman, no, old lady helping them.”

’Brother!!’

The voice of Gao Yuanyuan came into Gao Gong’s mind, full of dissatisfaction.

Oh, he forgot, that old lady was his own little sister. He had taught her a lot of skills from his previous life.

He was counting on Gao Yuanyuan to continue walking down the ’virtual civilization’ path from his last life.

”So what’s the opponent’s reason for adopting such tactics?”

A military advisor from the research association couldn’t help but ask.

”According to our deduction, the opponent will most likely use the method of joint alliances to focus on dismantling several Southern Hemisphere technology route hostile companies, like Secret Electronics, or Planet Energy.”

”Let me see, no, let me think—”

Gao Gong, looking serious, thought for a moment, then accessed Du Gao Technology’s internal network with a high-privileged account and briefly reviewed the planning scheme.

”I personally guess, it’s because our side, no, the enemy side determines, after the high-intensity wars of the first and second phases, most corporate ammunition will be severely depleted, with stockpile not exceeding 40 percent, at this time, just by continuously depleting through the sea of machines tactic, reducing the opponent’s ammunition reserve below 20 percent, it can neutralize the threat of all Southern Hemisphere corporations.”

”And for the ’Holy Brain Group’ in the third phase, because the enemy forces can’t attack, it’s most suited for this annihilation tactic.”

Below these two paragraphs, there are plenty of ’analytic data’ to support it.

As for the initiator of this ’tactic’, it’s General Quel.

’This methodical style really matches her painting style.’

Gao Gong stroked his chin, recalling that she also had a boss template, though only one, yet it was a ’gunner template’, which seemed very suited for this current scene.

Flame General (Faction Exclusive):

General’s Might: Able to boost and inspire, enhancing the morale of one’s side, morale +30%, faction loyalty +10%

Blood of War: General Quel possesses excellent command abilities, as long as she sits in the commander’s position, the battle victory rate +20%

Legendary Gunner: General Quel excels at gun battles; under her command, artillery accuracy +10%

’In the future, as we venture into interstellar space, let’s upgrade her, and set up several ’cosmic battleship’ type boss templates, ’heavy battleship and giant cannon’ style suits her better.’

Once again, in the combat conference room, everyone looked at Gao Gong with strange eyes.

Gao Gong was angry:

”What else do you want, I’ve already leaked military secrets to you guys, as a chairman holding a neutral stance, haven’t I done enough for you?!”

A group of people was speechless.

Though secrets are secrets, they don’t really help.

After all, they’re playing an open strategy.

Could this be a double-act performance?

Gao Gong perceived some people’s thoughts and snorted coldly.

”Then you guys handle it yourselves. I didn’t want to get involved in these matters in the first place. You’re the ones who insisted on dragging me into this.”

Gao Gong was about to leave, but the group of seasoned executives hurriedly persuaded him, showering him with flattering words as if they cost nothing.

”Well, how about this: you all surrender, and I’ll negotiate a high-level prisoner treatment for you. You might as well give up your own Brain-Machine Plan and obediently become downstream manufacturers. Wealth isn’t about being the richest; it’s about being content.”

”Chairman, the Holy Brain Group’s ’Brain-Machine’ is on the biological side.”

Someone couldn’t help but speak up.

Of the 30 companies in Mr. G’s Research Association, most were on the ’mechanical and electronic’ route, so even being downstream manufacturers wasn’t an option for them.

This is why they had no choice but to fight to the end.

”So what now? You guys figure it out yourselves.”

Gao Gong decided to take the path of least resistance, wearing an expression that said ’do whatever you like.’

”Actually, why not use the chairman as a hostage to cooperate with us—”

Whoa, which genius came up with that idea? Gao Gong was furious and scanned his gaze around the room.

Many people’s eyes flickered, looking like they were harboring ulterior motives.

Probably because if Person G wasn’t so formidable, these people might have actually done it.

”Chairman, how about you talk to President Du, let them deal with other companies first, and we wait a little longer, just a bit longer.”

This suggestion immediately garnered a lot of agreement, as if this was their plan all along.

”Yes, Chairman, we’re all from the same origin. Why fight each other so fiercely?”

”That’s right, no matter what, we, Du Gao Technology, and Holy Brain Group are potential allies.”

”Exactly, everything can be negotiated.”

”Chairman, maybe you could sacrifice some charm for this...”

Faced with this chairman who was impervious to flattery or threats, these powerful and ruthless figures rarely found themselves out of options.

He didn’t lack money, he didn’t lack power, and using a beauty trap might offend that ’President Du.’

So they could only resort to soft persuasion.

”Fine, I’ll ask, but let it be clear, I’m just asking. Whether it can be agreed upon is not up to me.”

The group nodded eagerly.

”But I can’t have nothing in return,” Gao Gong pondered while stroking his chin, then tapped his foot on the metallic floor.

”Hand over the manufacturing technology for this ’Sky Fortress’ to me later.”

All eyes turned to an executive who seemed to have undergone 100% mechanical transformation, looking almost like a robot.

”Chaston, what do you think?”

Sky Fortress and Sky Carrier belong to the same technological branch.

The Sky Carrier leans towards starship, emphasizing cosmic travel, heavy engines, and high speed.

Whereas Sky Fortress takes the ’Death Star’ direction, and beyond that is the Space Fortress, a structure ten times the size of a space station and ending with the ’Death Star,’ a planet annihilation weapon.

And the technology for the Space Fortress, at least in terms of the number of technical blueprints, exceeds that of the Sky Carrier.

And this technology is the core technology of the mechanical heavy industry to which Chaston belongs.

True to the spirit of sacrificing a friend rather than oneself, the group of executives immediately focused their attention on Chaston.

”Chaston, the chairman has always sacrificed for us. It’s time to repay him!”

”Chaston, you wouldn’t want to be stripped of your executive position and have your personality chip deleted due to a ’Corporate War’ failure, right?”

”Old Cha, our company can compensate you with a billion.”

”Chief Steward Cha, don’t be ungrateful!”

Chaston’s face had been reshaped beyond recognition, otherwise, it would’ve been red with anger. You shameless lot, asking for benefits for yourselves, yet expecting someone else to put in the effort!

Screw it all!

And he didn’t dare outright oppose them.

After all, the Research Association abides by the majority rule, didn’t you see even the chairman couldn’t step down from his position?

If he objected, for sure he’d be kicked out of the organization immediately and then assaulted by all.

And for failed executives, no matter the company, the treatment is exceedingly harsh.

But, this is the technology for the ’Sky Fortress’!

He’s not in a position to make this decision.

”I have to consult the board.”

Chaston hesitated for a while, before finally gritting his teeth and saying.

”Then hurry up and go!” The other members quickly urged.

For the first time, Chaston found himself so ’popular.’

A moment later, Chaston returned; it was hard to read his expression due to the lack of synthetic skin.

”So, what did they say?” someone asked.

Chaston glanced at the laid-back chairman, the energy pipes in his mechanical body slowly contracting, giving him a ’stomach ache’ feeling—though he had that organ removed ten years ago.

”The higher-ups said I should make the decision myself.”
