Not Being a Trainer This Time

Its face suddenly showed a dazed expression, blinking its little yellow eyes.

What? Isn’t that Pokemon a partner? Why are they fighting?

”Ah gah sss!” Koraidon quietly hinted to Bellibolt not to be afraid; it wouldn’t go all out!

”Bellibolt, go ahead, use Discharge!” Lono pointed with his hand.

Bellibolt was bewildered on the field, but hearing the Trainer’s command, it hurriedly began to gather the electricity within its body.

Soon, a strong and dazzling electric light burst from Bellibolt’s body, enveloping the entire battlefield in the blink of an eye.

Yet such a powerful electric shock was completely harmless to Koraidon.

It hurriedly looked left and right, then pretended to be struck hard, letting out a ”wail” as it fell to the ground.

A moment later, the electric light vanished.

Koraidon staggered to its feet, feigning a look of great pain.

The audience stared at the scene, dumbfounded.

Wha-What happened?!

When did Bellibolt’s Discharge attack become so powerful?

And that Pokemon looked so strong, why was it so vulnerable? Could it be that its weakness is Electric Type attacks?

However, some people saw through the facade.

That red Pokemon was definitely doing it on purpose!

That man was intentionally letting Lono win!

A woman who traveled to Levincia City with her husband, and happened to come here to watch a local Gym challenge, couldn’t help but cover her mouth and exclaimed: ”That man is so romantic!”

Man: ”...”

On the battlefield, Lono also saw through Naoki’s intention: ”Eh? You should be serious in a Pokemon battle!”

Naoki: ”...Koraidon, use Flamethrower.”

”Ah gah sss!”

Koraidon opened its mouth, swiftly condensing blazing flames within.

Seeing this, Lono spoke: ”That’s right, that’s more like it! If that’s the case, Bellibolt, use Thunderbolt!”

The next second, a jet of flame surged from Koraidon’s mouth, colliding mid-air with the burst of current from Bellibolt’s body.

The two distinctly different forces continued to intertwine, holding each other in check for a while, eventually leading to a dreadful big explosion.

Instantly, dust and smoke rose all over the battlefield.

The audience’s attention was completely captured by this scene.

A moment later, as all the dust settled, only Bellibolt was left standing on the large field.

Not far away, Koraidon lay on the ground with closed eyes, covered in dirt, motionless.

Bellibolt: ”?”

A big question mark popped up over Bellibolt’s little head.

What happened? Who is it? Where is it? When did it become so powerful?

The referee stepped forward to check on Koraidon’s injury, then blew the whistle hanging around his neck, announcing:

”Koraidon has lost the ability to battle, this match is won by Gym Leader Lono!”

The audience: ”...”

The acting is too obvious, hey?!

Naoki, however, earnestly stepped forward to check on Koraidon’s injuries.

Koraidon quietly opened a slit of its eyes, murmuring: ”Ah gah sss?”

Did it perform well?

Naoki twitched his mouth: ”Alright, get up, I’ll take you for some good food later.”

Koraidon immediately became excited, unable to stop itself from licking Naoki’s face: ”Ah gah sss!”

Naoki, covered in slobber: ”...”

Meanwhile, Lono’s side was also coming to a close.

She held a microphone and waved goodbye to the audience: ”Hello, today’s Lono’s live stream is ending here! Everyone, see you next time!”

After speaking, Lono turned off the live stream, then jogged to Naoki’s side. As she approached, she slowed her pace and joked:

”The show is over, let’s go!”

Naoki raised an eyebrow, asking: ”Aren’t you going to greet the challengers next?”

”Gym Leaders can have their own rest time too!”

”Okay, let’s go then!”

Naoki stood up, and the pretending-to-be-unconscious Koraidon also got up.

Lono reached out and patted its head: ”Long time no see, Koraidon!”

”Ah gah sss～”

Today the weather was somewhat cloudy as the two walked with Koraidon on Levincia City’s street.

Lono happily shared with Naoki the things she’s encountered in recent days.

”Ah, it’s really been busy recently! Trainers from many other regions have come to the Paldea Region, you know? Even Gym Leaders from other regions have come over!”

”Hmm?” Naoki raised an eyebrow: ”Who?”

”It’s the Gym Leader from the Johto Region, I think it’s the Gym Leader from Blackthorn City, a Trainer who specializes in Dragon Type Pokemon! Her Pokemon have given Bellibolt and others a hard time!” Lono complained.

Hearing this, Naoki immediately knew who she was.

He couldn’t help but smile and comfort: ”No worries, I’ve already won back for you!”

”Eh?!” Lono was stunned.

Naoki explained: ”That person is Clair, right? The reason she came to the Paldea Region was to have a Pokemon battle with me, but previously the chief issued a rule.”

”Trainers from other regions need to collect eight Gym Badges from the Paldea Region to be eligible to battle with me, so she came to challenge the Gyms to collect badges.”

”And the result?” Lono was very curious.

”Of course, I won!” Naoki nodded: ”Although there were some dangers in between, she didn’t defeat even one of my Pokemon, so this can be considered me winning it back for you, right?”
