Not Being a Trainer This Time

Have you ever seen an Alcremie that defeats Gym Leader level Pokémon with just Metronome?

Every time Metronome is used, it brings out an array of powerful and incredibly dazzling moves, instantly overwhelming the opponent.

Have you seen a Farfetch’d that’s mastered Scallion Techniques to such an extent that it resembles a Sword Saint?

It carries a massive scallion, appearing and disappearing without a trace, its exquisite sword skills seemingly capable of cutting through anything in the world.

In this battle, which Pokémon will the contestant Winged King send out?

Farfetch’d? Or that cute-looking Alcremie?

The audience couldn’t contain themselves, trying to shout loudly to urge Winged King to send out the Pokémon they want to see.

”Farfetch’d!”

”Farfetch’d!”

”I want to see Alcremie!”

”Alcremie, thrash them!”

”...”

Amidst the cheers, the contestant Winged King slowly took out his Poke Ball.

It was just an ordinary red and white ball.

Accompanied by a flash of white light, what appeared before the audience was neither of those familiar Pokémon, but a gigantic green Pokémon resembling an olive tree.

At this scene, countless spectators widened their eyes simultaneously.

The commentator Roger was astonished: ”That Pokémon is... wait! Let me scan!”

Saying this, he took out his Phone Rotom and aimed it at the Arboliva below.

Soon, the name of the Pokémon appeared on the Phone Rotom.

[Arboliva, a Normal and Grass Type Pokémon, with a gentle temperament and benevolent nature, it shares its nutritious and delicious oil with weakened Pokémon, unique to the Paldea Region!]

”Arboliva, that Pokémon is Arboliva from the Paldea Region! It’s astounding! In such a critical match, the contestant Winged King has sent out a Pokémon never used in previous battles!”

”Moreover... based on the data, a normal Arboliva is only 1.4 meters tall, but the Arboliva of the contestant Winged King vastly surpasses this figure in height! It’s huge!”

”I wonder what kind of surprises this Pokémon will bring us compared to Farfetch’d and Alcremie!”

”Arboliva, I’m counting on you.”

On the arena, Naoki spoke softly to the Arboliva before him.

Currently, having absorbed a significant amount of Natural Energy from the World Tree, and with Leaf Cake made from the World Tree’s leaves, Arboliva’s strength had, unknowingly, reached an astonishing level.

Though not comparable to the Gogoat, it far surpassed most ordinary Pokémon.

”Li～”

Upon hearing Naoki’s words, Arboliva gently nodded its head.

”Dang dang dang!”

With the urgent ringing of a bell, this crucial qualification match officially began.

”Arboliva, Grassy Terrain!”

Upon receiving the command, a surge of green energy burst forth from Arboliva, transforming into a field of grass, instantly covering the entire arena.

For a moment, the arena seemed like a prairie, with countless energy-formed blades of grass gently swaying.

At the same time, Wolf King, Songstress, and Punch King also issued commands.

They were well-acquainted, having faced each other many times in the Royal Dome.

And now, facing a formidable opponent on a winning streak, the three exchanged a glance, tacitly deciding to cooperate, launching an attack on Arboliva from three different angles.

”Houndoom, Howl!”

”Primarina, Icy Wind!”

”Crabominable, Ice Hammer!”

Almost in an instant, the three Pokémon reacted.

Houndoom let out a long howl towards the sky, a sound akin to a battle cry. Upon hearing it, Primarina and Crabominable were filled with strength, charging forward with tremendous momentum.

Primarina gracefully raised its beautiful head, rapidly gathering a chill in its mouth, transforming into a cold wind that blew towards Arboliva.

Crabominable swung its massive fists as it ran forward, each fist encased in solid ice, resembling gigantic ice hammers.

”Wow!” Roger widened his eyes in amazement: ”At the start of the match, the three contestants chose to join forces, three against one! The contestant Winged King is in danger!”

Houndoom’s Howl could enhance the power of its ally Pokémon, and Primarina’s Icy Wind and Crabominable’s Ice Hammer were inherently countering Grass Type Pokémon.

Moreover, it’s three against one.

How will the contestant Winged King face such a dire situation?

Roger’s heart couldn’t help but tense up.

However, Naoki and Arboliva remained calm; although Crabominable’s power was immense, its speed had slowed considerably, so Primarina’s Icy Wind reached them first!

Naoki’s mind raced, and almost simultaneously, he calmly gave the order: ”Mirror Coat!”

”Li～”

Arboliva placed unconditional trust in its trainer, and in an instant, it brought its arms together, and a transparent, mirror-like rectangular barrier appeared in front of it.

The next second, Icy Wind swept in, striking the ”mirror” in front of Arboliva with precision.

The chill gathered continuously, eventually forming a deep blue beam of light, which was reflected back by the mirror.

”Danger!” shouted the Songstress.

Unable to dodge in time, Primarina was directly hit by its own attack, causing it to stagger backward.

Seeing this, Roger immediately widened his eyes.

”The contestant Winged King used Mirror Coat to reflect Primarina’s attack!”
