Not Being a Trainer This Time

”Long time no see! I came to see how you’re doing this time,” Geeta replied.

She said this, but her gaze inadvertently swept over the nearby grassland, pausing for a moment on the sunbathing Pokemon, trying to find her target among them.

Geeta’s odd behavior immediately caught Naoki’s attention.

His heart instantly became highly alert.

Oh no! Geeta must suspect that the Motorcycle Mask appearing in the Alola Region is actually him!

”Luckily, I prepared in advance.” Naoki felt relieved in his heart, then pretended to be puzzled and asked: ”What’s up? Chief, are you looking for something?”

”Oh, nothing,” Geeta suddenly realized and said: ”I just noticed that some new Pokemon have joined the ranch.”

”Yeah!” Naoki glanced at the four Treasures of Ruin sunbathing over there: ”That’s Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Chi-Yu, and Ting-Lu.”

Geeta was a bit curious about these four extraordinary-looking Pokemon: ”They don’t look like ordinary Pokemon!”

Naoki nodded: ”To be precise, they’re also known as Treasures of Ruin, Pokemon that have existed since the Paldea Kingdom period. However, due to certain events, they were sealed away later.”

”Treasures of Ruin...” Geeta showed some interest but did not forget her real purpose for coming here.

”By the way, a friend of mine recently captured an Alcremie, and he wants me to ask a Trainer who has bred Alcremie about the breeding methods. Coincidentally, you’re the only one around me who has an Alcremie, so I came to visit you today,” Geeta said.

Her expression was as if she really had such a friend.

Naoki: ”...”

Friend, my foot!

He clearly knew that Geeta was acting, but at this point he could only pretend to be oblivious and showed a troubled expression.

”But my Alcremie is a production Pokemon! It’s not good at battling.”

”Oh, stop pretending already!” Geeta was completely speechless, unable to keep up the act: ”From what I know, your ranch has a Metronome trial led by Alcremie, and the Alcremie in the Royal Battle is very good at the move Metronome.”

”Hmm? Could all of this be just a coincidence, Wing King contestant?” Geeta asked.

Naoki: ”...”

What else could he do?

Continue defending himself, saying how Alola Region and Paldea are so far apart, that it’s impossible for him to go back and forth in such a short time, that he’s been watering flowers at the ranch the whole time?

But Geeta isn’t a fool; she wouldn’t believe whatever people say.

The name ”Wing King” is known to very few in the Paldea Region, but as the Chief Champion, Geeta happens to be one of them.

Witnessing this, Geeta straightforwardly asked: ”Is that person you?”

Naoki sighed helplessly: ”I didn’t expect you to find out.”

Having his suspicion confirmed, Geeta felt great.

”I wasn’t wrong after all. I never imagined the Motorcycle Mask was actually a Trainer from our Paldea Region, ohoho! This is the best news I’ve heard all week!”

Naoki: ”...That’s a bit exaggerated.”

”That’s just your own opinion. Capturing both Calyrex and Giratina, aside from you, probably no one else could achieve such a feat in this world.”

Geeta shook her head, showing an excited expression before asking:

”If the Paldea Region ever encountered an incident like what happened in the Hoenn Region, you’d help, wouldn’t you?”

”Probably not, right?” Naoki was slightly stunned. From what he knew, the Paldea Region didn’t have any dangerous Legendary Beast.

”Just giving an example!” Geeta said.

Naoki sighed helplessly: ”Of course, after all, my home is here.”

This answer greatly satisfied Geeta.

”Be more careful next time you take action!” Geeta said: ”Otherwise, if your identity is exposed, your ranch would surely be swarmed by enthusiastic fans.”

Just thinking about this gave Naoki a headache, as he’d already seen the massive crowd at the Royal Dome on TV, and was glad he left early.

”But at that time, the Paldea League will also help cover it up for you.” Geeta reassured him.

”Okay.” With the Paldea League’s help, he could keep his identity hidden longer.

”Tut tut tut, speaking of which, today’s events reminded me of something,” Geeta suddenly said.

”What?” Naoki looked at her.

”If you could represent the Paldea Region with Calyrex and Giratina in the World Championship and Eight Great Masters, you’d win the championship without a doubt, right?” Geeta fantasized.

By that time, they could promote the strongest Champion being in Paldea, attracting more talents here.

Ohoho! Just thinking about it makes one feel happy!

Now’s the time to fantasize!

”Stop, stop!” Naoki quickly interrupted Geeta’s fantasy: ”Let’s just leave it as fantasy.”

Having him compete with Giratina and a fully-formed Calyrex, would everyone else just give up then?

Geeta instantly felt a bit of regret.

But never mind, as long as Naoki stays here in their Paldea Region!

”By the way, how are things progressing between you and Lono lately? Have you thought about when to get married?” Geeta suddenly asked with a smile.
