Not Being a Trainer This Time

”Congratulations, Wings King contestant, now you are just one step away from the first place.” Not waiting for Naoki to speak, Vivian smiled and asked, ”I’ve already matched you with your opponent for the next match.”

The days spent together allowed Vivian to have a certain understanding of this powerful and mysterious trainer.

For example, he came to the Royal Dome not for fame, nor for the prize money.

Because Vivian observed that Wings King contestant seemed not very interested in money and never goes into business for his fans.

It’s worth knowing that his sometimes swift and fierce, sometimes quirky style has already helped him attract quite a few spectators.

So far, Wings King contestant’s popularity in the Royal Dome is second only to the already famous Royal Masked Man.

Unfortunately, Wings King contestant always comes straight for the battles.

From a certain angle, he is truly a very pure trainer.

Thinking of this, Vivian looked at the computer screen and continued, ”Your next match is scheduled for tonight at seven, during prime time, good luck!”

Naoki: ”...” He hadn’t even spoken yet.

But he’s already fourth, so this should be his last match, right?

For this final match, which Pokemon should he send out?

Farfetch’d? Alcremie? Arboliva?

Or should he send his main Pokemon out?

Naoki could not help but fall into deep thought.

If his guess is correct, he might finally encounter the Royal Masked Man tonight, who is Professor Kukui in the anime.

But speaking of Professor Kukui, it reminded Naoki of some things.

Unlike many trainers in the anime, Professor Kukui will not easily display his companion Pokemon.

He will only release his Pokemon when necessary.

For example, for major battles, solving crises, or when he needs the assistance of Pokemon for research.

As a professor, Professor Kukui naturally has many Pokemon by his side.

Naoki can remember at least six of them.

Such as Braviary, Empoleon, Lucario, Incineroar, Pelipper, Wailord, Venusaur, and more.

Among them, Professor Kukui only sends out his Incineroar when he appears as the Royal Masked Man, and this Pokemon is kept secret from others, even his wife Professor Burnet does not know.

No surprises, he will face Professor Kukui’s Incineroar tonight.

Since that’s the case, then let that Pokemon go!

Naoki’s heart already has a suitable candidate.

At seven o’clock, during prime time in the Alola region.

Even before the match started, the Royal Dome was already crowded with people.

Because many viewers have already received word from the Royal Dome that several celebrity contestants will be competing tonight.

Royal Masked Man, Karate King, Laiyang Nanako, and the contestant who has won consecutively from the Normal rank all the way to the Master rank without losing a single match – the Wings King contestant!

The seats around the arena were fully occupied, and the shouts of the audience echoed throughout the stadium.

They shouted loudly the names of the celebrity contestants they supported, vigorously waving their cheer sticks, the atmosphere ignited, pushing the whole environment to a new peak.

”Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Royal Battle today!”

Roger was the first to appear on the lift platform.

Holding a microphone, he looked excitedly at the ocean of spectators, his voice filled with fiery passion:

”I believe everyone has already known in advance that four celebrity contestants are appearing in today’s match! Haha, this is truly a rare spectacle!”

”Whoa ah!” The audience erupted in a wave of cheers.

”Alright, less talk, I believe everyone can’t wait to watch today’s intense battles!” Roger continued, ”First, let us welcome the first contestant!”

”Ka ka ka!”

Above the ring, a row of spotlights lit up neatly, illuminating the straight entrance path.

A man dressed in loose fighting attire, with an experienced and steady demeanor, looking very reserved and low-key, slowly walked out.

The man walked onto the stage, accompanied by a flash of white light, and a towering Hariyama over 2.3 meters tall came crashing down onto the stage.

”Wow! It’s the Karate King’s Hariyama!” Roger exclaimed, ”I can already imagine Hariyama using powerful Fighting techniques after Belly Drum to crush the opponent! It’s really something to look forward to!”

The Karate King folded his arms, nodding his head towards the camera.

”Now, let us welcome the second contestant!”

”Ka ka ka!”

Another row of spotlights shone brightly.

Next, a young girl with short hair, wearing a beret on her head, looking youthful and cute, hopped out from the passage.

”Everyone! Long time no see!”

The girl blew a kiss to the audience and the camera, then threw her Poke Ball.

”Come out! My partner!”

Accompanied by a flash of white light, a mushroom Pokemon with a large, pale-colored, warty mushroom cap like a Poke Ball and a huge gray stalk-like body appeared in the battle arena.

The Pokemon’s eyes were very fierce, its arms resembling red and white balls, its pink mouth puffed up.
