God's Imitator

Qin Yao immediately became alert, ”Encouraging the strong to band together? Lawyer Lin won’t be poached by other communities, will he?”

Seeing Qin Yao’s somewhat worried expression, Lin Sizhi shook his head.

”Not likely. Community 17 is very interesting. I have no plans to jump ship for now.”

Some people also showed worried expressions but this worry wasn’t just about strong players being poached, but more about being kicked out themselves.

Obviously, after several games and motion discussions, the players’ status hierarchy had more or less been established.

Whether someone was a crucial strong player in the community or an insignificant burden?

Most people had a clear sense of their own level.

Although the one-person-one-vote community mechanism still maintained surface equality for everyone, the status differences between different players were rapidly widening.

Li Renshu said seriously, ”Here, I want to make a simple statement regarding this rule.

”We, Community 17, will never actively kick out any player.

”Fu Chen, do you agree?”

Fu Chen immediately nodded, ”Of course! I agree!”

Many others also agreed, ”Yes, agreed!”

Li Renshu didn’t dwell too much on this issue, ”Then let’s mainly consider the selection of new members.”

Everyone sat down around the long table, beginning to look forward to new members with anticipation.

Li Renshu looked around at everyone, ”According to what we’ve already agreed upon, we must recruit a female player this time, so we’ll mainly focus on discussing age and profession.

”I don’t think there are any urgent professional requirements like ’doctor’ this time, so my idea is for all of us to vote on several different professional options.

”For example, we provide four different professional options. After everyone votes, we eliminate the two with the lowest votes, then vote again on the two with higher votes.

”The final result will be the profession we decide on.”

Wang Yongxin was somewhat surprised by this. After thinking for a moment, he was the first to express his position, ”Okay, I support this selection method.”

Li Renshu continued, ”Of course, before voting, I want to emphasize again to everyone the importance of maintaining community diversity, and that ’the weak’ might also play irreplaceable roles in the New World.”

Li Renshu tried her best to explain to everyone her feelings during the previous game.

She had already discussed these issues with Cao Haichuan and Cai Zhiyuan before, but the three hadn’t reached a consensus.

Li Renshu herself also couldn’t definitively say which choice was better.

Because the correctness of both choices largely depended on the Gallery’s future evolution results.

After Li Renshu finished speaking, everyone had different expressions.

Some nodded in heartfelt agreement, while others were dismissive.

Qin Yao instinctively looked at Lin Sizhi.

Obviously, Li Renshu’s selection process this time was different from last time.

After Lin Sizhi’s explanation, Qin Yao already knew that Li Renshu had actually somewhat led the motion when recruiting the doctor previously, subtly changing some swing voters’ views but this time, although Li Renshu also spoke before the voting began, it was more like purely sharing her own viewpoint without much deliberate guidance.

She seemed to truly want to give the decision-making power for this recruitment to everyone, deciding through voting.

Regardless, this vote’s result would be closer to the community’s collective will.

Sure enough, after Li Renshu finished expressing her views, it quickly triggered many opposing opinions and discussions.

Wang Yongxin frowned slightly, ”So... you lean toward recruiting someone older, inclined toward grassroots ordinary professions?

”For example, farmers, workers, teachers?

”This is completely unnecessary, right?

”You can’t treat the situation in ’Financial Sources Game’ as a common situation we’ll encounter in the future.”

Li Renshu nodded, ”Of course I’m not treating the ’Financial Sources Game’ situation as universal.

”I’m considering this based on our community’s current composition ratio.

”We reached consensus on the gender ratio issue, always 6:6, but we actually haven’t considered some other dimensions.

”For example, the wealth dimension.

”Our community’s current personnel composition, after losing Aunt Su, can be said to have no poor people at all.”

Jiang He was startled, ”No no no, I’m poor!”

Zheng Jie also quickly explained, ”Right, I’m a struggling residency trainee, I’m also poor.”

Li Renshu asked back, ”So, what’s the minimum price per pound for spinach in rural farmers’ markets? Can you two answer that?”

Jiang He and Zheng Jie were momentarily speechless.

Li Renshu explained, ”The wealth I’m talking about doesn’t refer to absolute wealth.

”If we considered it that way, I don’t think I’m wealthy either, at most middle class.

”But from our professional composition: civil servants, streamers, police, lawyers, business owners, editors, doctors, executives, HR, models, programmers...

”We actually can’t find anyone who’s truly poor or from the bottom of society.

”A simple vegetable price question, none of the 11 people in our community now can answer it.

”Fortunately in ‘Financial Sources Game’, such questions only made up 1/4 of the market research segment, and even not knowing them didn’t affect clearing the game.

”But what if in the next judgment game, a truly poor God’s Imitator designs a game, turning his unique knowledge structure into a deadly trap? How many of us could escape from that pit?

”I certainly know that wealthy people are often defined as ’successful people’ in society, and in such life-and-death games, they can often gain greater rewards through their wisdom.

”But under the stark disparity of 11:0, I think it’s still necessary to recruit someone who’s truly from the bottom poor class. Even if they might not be able to contribute in many games, they could optimize our community’s knowledge structure.”

Cao Haichuan said, ”I agree with this viewpoint. Moreover, I need to remind everyone of another matter:

”From now on, we must especially consider the issue of ’loyalty’ when recruiting.

”Our community won’t actively kick out any player, which means our community won’t actively poach any players.

”But people in the community might be poached by other communities.

”Our current 11 people have been in Community 17 from the beginning. Even if we have different philosophies, our familiarity and mutual trust are better than strangers from other communities.

”But if it’s a new member, that might not be the case.

”For new members, Community 17 is an unfamiliar environment, and other communities are also unfamiliar environments. Staying anywhere is the same, isn’t it?

”And if a certain member is truly swayed by other communities, it’s not just as simple as us losing one person.

”This kind of poaching operation can only be carried out during games.

”So this poached person, having already decided to betray, would likely cooperate with the community that poached them, screwing us over in the game. This would not only serve as a pledge of allegiance to the poaching community but also maximize their own interests.

”In this situation, our other players in the game could very likely suffer fatal losses.”
