God's Imitator

[So-called ’Market Research’ means finding business opportunities in seemingly ordinary data.]

[When two companies discover the same trend, only the company that precisely grasps the details has the possibility of capturing all the dividends.]

[Each ’Market Research’ activity will display four different business fields on the big screen, with the two companies taking turns to choose the business field they are more skilled in.]

[This month’s market research will be chosen first by Company 8 Limited, and next month will be Company 17 Limited’s turn.]

[After selecting a specific field, a question within that field will appear on the big screen.]

[Representatives of both companies can input their answers into the tablet computers in front of them after thorough thinking and calculation.]

[The company whose answer is closer to the standard answer will seize this business opportunity and receive a reward of 30,000 minutes of visa time, which will be added to the company’s account balance.]

[Additional investment may result in extra profits, but may also result in total loss.]

[Now, please have Company 8 Limited choose the business field first.]

Four different options appeared on the big screen: [Science], [Society], [Arts], [Livelihood].Jiao Hongtao instinctively looked toward Tian Fan.

Obviously, although Jiao Hongtao was older, Tian Fan was the real decision-maker in this two-person team.

After thinking for a moment, Tian Fan looked at Fu Chen and Li Renshu across from them, then leaned toward the microphone, ”Livelihood.”

For Li Renshu, this seemed like an acceptable choice.

From the current game rules, both sides took turns choosing business fields, so the side making the choice would definitely pick what they were good at, giving them some advantage.

This so-called ’Market Research’ looked somewhat like many common knowledge quiz variety shows, testing basic knowledge reserves more than anything else.

Originally, Li Renshu had been somewhat worried that if they chose [Science], it might be very difficult to handle.

Because both she and Fu Chen were liberal arts students, they would be very poor at this type of question.

Tian Fan looked like a business elite, and if he happened to be a science student good at the science field, that would be troublesome but she hadn’t expected Tian Fan to actually choose the livelihood field.

Li Renshu was quite confident about this, after all, as a civil servant, her daily work would more or less involve similar issues.

[At 7 AM, you purchased 10 jin of spinach at a prime location stall in a rural farmers market. What is the minimum amount of money you could possibly have spent?]

Behind the input box on the tablet computer, the corresponding unit was also written: yuan.

Seeing this question, both Li Renshu and Fu Chen were stunned.

They looked at each other and both saw astonishment in the other’s eyes.

According to the game rules, both sides could input any number on the tablet, and whichever side was closer to the standard answer would win.

Considering the difficulty of the question, it was very hard to guess the correct answer completely, but as long as they guessed closer than the other side, they could win.

Fu Chen looked at Li Renshu somewhat helplessly, ”Have you... ever bought vegetables?”

Li Renshu was silent for a moment, ”I’ve only bought them on food delivery platforms. For spinach, if I remember correctly, it should be around 5 to 10 yuan per jin.”

Fu Chen blinked in confusion, ”But isn’t this range a bit too broad? Is it 5 yuan or 10 yuan exactly?”

Li Renshu shook her head, ”I can’t remember clearly.

”Moreover, vegetable prices themselves fluctuate greatly. Season, region, all could affect vegetable prices.

”If my memory is correct, the highest price for spinach could possibly reach ten yuan per jin.”

Fu Chen looked at the question again, ”But this is asking for the minimum price.”

Li Renshu also sighed quietly, ”I know, so we can only make rough estimates.

”The specified location is a rural farmers market, so it should definitely be cheaper than the supermarket prices on food delivery apps.

”But... 7 AM, and a prime location stall...

”There should be a small increase again.

”After all, morning vegetables are fresher, and prime location stalls have higher rent too.”

Fu Chen thought for a moment, ”So should we guess 5 yuan per jin? A total of 50?”

Li Renshu hesitated for a while, ”Let’s go a bit lower. 3 yuan per jin, 30. No, buying this much might get a discount, let’s say 25.”

Fu Chen frowned slightly, ”Isn’t that too low? That’s ten jin! How big a bundle would that be, selling for only 25?”

Li Renshu insisted on her viewpoint, ”Since it’s asking for the minimum, it doesn’t matter if we guess lower.”

Fu Chen nodded, ”Alright, let’s guess 25.”

The thinking time for each question was 10 minutes, but obviously, this time was somewhat excessively generous.

Like this question, with a clear approach it could be answered in a few seconds, but without an approach, no amount of pondering would be meaningful.

Li Renshu input 25 on the tablet computer, then clicked [Confirm].

Below the answer input box, there was also an ’Additional Investment’ option, allowing an extra 10,000 to be added.

If they won in the market research, the additional investment would double but if they failed in the market research, the additional investment would also be completely lost.

Without much confidence in this answer, Li Renshu and Fu Chen naturally didn’t dare to gamble with 10,000 minutes of visa time.

On Community 8’s side, Jiao Hongtao had already completed his answer long ago.

[Company 8 Limited’s market research results are closer to the actual situation, seizing this business opportunity and receiving a reward of 30,000 minutes of visa time.]

[Since Company 8 Limited added an additional investment of 20,000, they will receive an extra reward of 20,000 minutes of visa time.]

[This market research activity has ended. Please both parties leave and wait for the next business opportunity to appear.]

Li Renshu was somewhat surprised that the other side was so confident, adding an additional investment of 20,000 on their first answer.

”It seems Jiao Hongtao was very confident about the answer to this question...”

...

Fu Chen pushed open the door to the office area and swiped his card through the turnstile.

”Sigh, I told you we guessed too low, didn’t I? That was 10 jin of spinach!”

Hearing this, Xu Tong hurried over, ”You’re back? What 10 jin of spinach? Weren’t you going to market research? How did you end up buying vegetables?”

Li Renshu asked, ”Xu Tong, have you ever bought spinach? How much would 10 jin of spinach cost?”

Xu Tong was stunned, ”Huh? How would I know! 10 jin of spinach would cost over 100 yuan at least, right? That’s 10 jin!”

Li Renshu was speechless for a moment. Obviously, Xu Tong lacked even more common sense than she did.

She stopped dwelling on this topic and just said to Fu Chen, ”You explain the ’Market Research’ game rules to Xu Tong. I’ll go check on Aunt Su.”

After saying this, she came to the CEO’s office door and knocked gently.

Su Xiucen quickly opened the door, ”Eh? Little Li, why are you knocking? Just push the door and come in.”

Li Renshu shook her head, ”The ID card said we’re performing, so necessary procedures still need to be followed.

”Sorry, Aunt Su, today’s market research didn’t earn any money for Fu Chen and me. Let me report on the specific process...”

Li Renshu spoke while sitting down in front of the spacious CEO’s desk.

In the main hall, Fu Chen was also introducing the entire process of this external game to Xu Tong.
