God's Imitator

Li Renshu sighed and continued, ”To be honest with myself, although I was always polite and courteous when speaking to Aunt Su, I did consistently regard her as a weak person in the community who needed care, even a burden, never considering that she also had value in the community.

”The games in the Gallery encompass everything, and any type of person might play an irreplaceable role in specific situations.

”This seems to be precisely the message the Gallery is conveying to us:

”In the real world, the existence of the weak is necessary. If a country, a society, maintains an arrogant attitude and eliminates the weak in batches, then social order will inevitably collapse.

”The New World is the same. The weak, or those who appear foolish, will also demonstrate value in certain specific situations.

”We did propose some motions to help the weak, but I often ask myself, regarding Aunt Su, did I really do my best?

”During the review of King’s Judgment, Aunt Su’s demands on Brother Wang and Lawyer Lin were indeed excessive, and I was somewhat angry too. Others in the community also began to distance themselves from her because of this.

”But thinking about it now, who is truly perfect? Who doesn’t have their stubborn blind spots?

”Uncle Ding and Aunt Su died first, not because they deserved to die, but because their stubborn blind spots were exposed first.

”We also have our stubborn blind spots, so when judgment games targeting us arrive, perhaps we’ll need people like Uncle Ding or Aunt Su to help us solve them?”If I had realized this earlier and understood Aunt Su better as a person, perhaps I wouldn’t have treated her as purely a burden in this game, and the game’s outcome might have been different.

”Just like in the real world, elderly people are a group that creates almost no value, but as a civilized society, we still try our best to let them live peacefully through pensions, retirement funds, and other means.

”This is a mark of civilized social progress.

”Perhaps it’s the same here?”

Cai Zhiyuan was silent for a moment, ”No, no, no, this absolutely cannot be the message the Gallery is conveying.

”Although I believed during the review that Aunt Su could indeed play a greater role in this game, that was merely discussing the game’s solution.

”At this moment I must also remind you:

”This game might just be a special case. We cannot use it as a basis to decide our community’s future direction.

”The Gallery has no will, it’s more like some kind of cruel natural law.

”If we mistakenly receive false kindness, it could lead to serious consequences.”

Cao Haichuan shook his head, ”No, on this point, I agree with Renshu’s thinking.

”The Gallery has will.”

Cao Haichuan exhaled a puff of smoke and explained, ”Of course, from the current situation, the Gallery might only have a vague will, even with obvious malice in its scoring standards.

”But the God’s Imitators who execute the Gallery’s requirements have clear wills. Although these wills differ from each other, they will ultimately be consolidated.”

Cai Zhiyuan thought for a moment, ”But even so, we cannot assert that this consolidated will will definitely have clear benevolence.

”How can you assume there are more kind God’s Imitators?

”God’s Imitators benefit by killing players. What motivation do they have to help players successfully pass judgment games?

”I even think it’s impossible for judgment games as lenient as ’Financial Sources Game’ to appear again in the future.”

Cao Haichuan asked back, ”Is it really impossible?

”Most communities now should also realize the importance of high-intelligence players. In their recruitment process, they will inevitably tend to recruit more and more high-intelligence players.

”After round after round of life-and-death games, high-intelligence players have higher survival rates and accumulate more visa time.

”So, suppose you’re a God’s Imitator facing increasingly more high-intelligence players, and ordinary schemes are likely to be easily seen through.

”What would you do then?”

Cai Zhiyuan was silent for a long time, then slowly stated the only possibility, ”Design games that stupid people can clear through instinct, but smart people would die in instead.”

Cao Haichuan nodded approvingly, ”Yes, just like ’Financial Sources Game.’

”If we say that as judgment games, ’King’s Judgment’ specifically targeted people like Uncle Ding, then ’Financial Sources Game’ was exactly the opposite, more targeting smart people.

”Players like Wang Yongxin and Tian Fan have great chances of winning in games that require thinking, risk-taking, and prioritizing profit, but entering this game, they’re actually inferior to ordinary people’s instinctive reactions.

”The employee salaries that deduct money every round would stimulate them to inevitably choose continuous layoff plans.

”Of course, the God’s Imitator of ’Financial Sources Game’ obviously showed mercy. If he had made this game even slightly harsher, canceling a few life-saving rules, he could have easily achieved a total wipeout ending.

”But would other God’s Imitators inspired by this be so lenient?

”If more and more God’s Imitators learn from ’Financial Sources Game’s’ approach, it might also become targeted screening of ordinary people or even stupid people, with smart people experiencing extremely high death rates instead.

”I believe the Gallery very likely has this kind of ’dynamic balance’ mechanism, never allowing any one type of player to always stand at the top of the food chain.

”If some communities mistakenly believe that high-intelligence players will always have advantages in the Gallery’s life-and-death games, they might suddenly face catastrophic disaster one day.”

Cai Zhiyuan lowered his head in contemplation for a long time, but ultimately still shook his head.

”I admit there is indeed such a possibility.

”But we also need to consider one issue:

”The Gallery replenishes players, stupid people will always exist. Even if all communities screen players according to ’smart people’s’ age or occupation, there will always be communities that can’t select satisfactory ones.

”With stupid people being continuously replenished, smart people will always be the minority proportionally.

”For God’s Imitators, designing games to kill stupid people is still much simpler than killing smart people.

”Because smart people also learn and research. Tricks like ’Financial Sources Game’ might catch Renshu and Fu Chen the first time, but the second time they’d instinctively be on guard.

”Smart people can learn stupid people’s survival strategies, but conversely, stupid people can never learn from smart people.

”Moreover, not every God’s Imitator can be a genius. Many God’s Imitators, even if they want to learn from ’Financial Sources Game,’ simply cannot design such games.”

Cao Haichuan exhaled a puff of smoke, ”Well, what you say also makes sense.

”We can’t determine who’s right or wrong now, but we did touch on a very key point:

”The Gallery’s will depends on the combined force of all God’s Imitators.

”If kind-leaning God’s Imitators prevail, then judgment games will become lenient, even approaching the punishment intensity of real-world laws.

”If evil-leaning God’s Imitators prevail, then judgment games will become harsh, where even any insignificant sin might invite death penalties.

”Perhaps this game was a kind God’s Imitator’s test of the Gallery’s rules.

”The strategy we adopt in the community, whether to care for the weak or only want the strong, is itself a kind of bet on the ’God’s Imitator War’:

”If we bet correctly, the Gallery’s games will adapt to our community’s form, greatly improving survival rates.

”If we bet wrong, even if we gather a community of elites, we’ll be wiped out by specific game types.”
