God's Imitator

Xu Tong’s heart skipped a beat, and she hurriedly said, ”No, no, no, Aunt Su, you absolutely cannot think that way.

”Is expensive treatment necessarily better? Our company’s cash flow is so tight, using 5,000 to gamble on an illusory probability, how could that possibly be worth it?”

Su Xiucen’s face still carried an expression of reluctance, ”But perhaps there’s some special mechanism in this game?

”Let’s try it, what if it works?

”Just try it once, okay? Just once.”

Xu Tong was momentarily speechless. What Su Xiucen was saying now was very similar to what she had said when trying to convince Li Renshu and Fu Chen about layoffs.

Try it, what if it works?

But Xu Tong quickly became resolute, ”But Aunt Su, you need to think carefully. If we spend 5,000 and still can’t cure them, what about our cash flow?

”This game will become increasingly difficult as it progresses. Every penny might become very important.

”If our company goes bankrupt, all employees will lose their jobs, and those patients who could have been cured with conventional treatment won’t have money for treatment either.”Aunt Su, do you really want to see that situation happen?”

Su Xiucen looked reluctantly at those virtual employees with work-related injuries on the computer screen and sighed silently.

”Alright.”

This progress surprised Xu Tong somewhat, and she hurriedly struck while the iron was hot, ”Aunt Su, I think the other company very likely won’t treat these work-injured employees, and might just lay them off directly.

”Using conventional methods for treatment is already fulfilling our responsibility.

”Moreover, Aunt Su, I want to take this opportunity to explain the underlying logic of modern corporate operations, and how... a small amount of layoffs is like the normal metabolism of the human body, indispensable.”

Su Xiucen sighed silently, ”Let me think about it more, think about it more...”

Xu Tong didn’t continue pressing, because she needed to hurry back to memorize data.

This was also a good opportunity to let Su Xiucen digest this. Breaking free from obsessions wasn’t that easy, and being too forceful would only backfire.

...

Hearing Fu Chen and Li Renshu pass through the turnstiles, Xu Tong hurriedly stood up to greet them.

”How did it go?”

Fu Chen was very happy, ”We won! This time they chose the business field. We didn’t have data either, but it happened to be a problem that Renshu had researched before, so we won.

”Too bad we didn’t make additional investments.

”Looking at them, they seemed to have made additional investments. The stunned expression when they saw the results shouldn’t be something they could fake.”

Li Renshu nodded, ”Although we didn’t make additional investments, making them lose 20,000 from their additional investment was also quite good.

”Moreover, we’ve further confirmed one fact: the virtual employee data in the game is indeed split evenly by the game’s designer.”

They looked at the refreshed company panel.

[Company 17 Limited]

[May company account balance: 151,000 minutes of visa time]

[June estimated income: 20,000 minutes of visa time]

[June estimated expenses: 72,000 minutes of visa time]

Without layoffs and hiring, the estimated expenses had changed somewhat because the number of work-injury treatments had further increased.

After Xu Tong shared the data she had recorded with the two, she said, ”Fu Chen, could you monitor the data for the next round of the game?

”I want to spend some time talking with Aunt Su.

”Including the layoff issue and those work-injured employees. I think this might also be a necessary condition for us to complete the game.”

Li Renshu nodded, ”Yes, I agree.

”But before you go, we need to discuss how exactly to handle these work-injured employees.

”There seem to be more and more of them.”

On the computer screen, work-injured employees had increased significantly, and the number of employees with lung cancer and 0% cure rate had also increased, reaching 5 people.

These employees, even if 1,000 visa time was spent treating them each round, would absolutely never be cured but they also wouldn’t die quickly. They would just continue existing in the humanitarian care section, deducting money every round.

Although each individual wasn’t much, after the numbers increased, it became a heavy burden for the company.

Xu Tong seemed to have already considered this, ”My plan is:

”Lay off half the employees proportionally, meaning the company retains 10 people, with everyone’s salary reduced by 30%, and maintain it this way.

”Unless our cash flow faces an extremely critical situation, try to keep these 10 people as much as possible.

”As for work-injured employees, those with 0% cure rate must all be cleared out.

”For employees with other cure rates, all use conventional treatment. But if a certain employee still isn’t cured after 3 attempts, we’ll give up on them too.

”Although employees with 50% cure rate can probably be cured within 2 months, the lower the cure rate, the greater the deviation.

”For those employees with only 10% cure rate, if we treat them 3 times without success, we’ve fulfilled our responsibility.”

Li Renshu nodded, ”Fine, I support this plan.

”Then submit it quickly and convince Aunt Su.”

...

In the CEO’s office, Su Xiucen finished reading the entire plan.

Her face showed an expression of reluctance.

Xu Tong stood behind her, somewhat worried.

She originally wanted to explain a few more things, but Su Xiucen waved her hand, indicating there was no need to say more.

”I understand. Let’s do as you say.

”But I have just one request.

”Can we keep this lung cancer employee?

”Just keep him alone, and we don’t need special treatment, okay?

”Just 1,000 per month, just 1,000, is that okay?”

Su Xiucen’s voice trembled slightly.

Xu Tong looked at the screen. Among those work-injured employees with 0% cure rate, there was a middle-aged man in his fifties who looked gaunt with sunken eyes, but his gaze still faintly showed a kind of stubbornness.

One could read from it a strong will to survive.

”Aunt Su...”

Xu Tong had an uneasy premonition.

She realized that Su Xiucen’s judgment task was very likely related to these work-injured employees.

Especially the 0% cure rate, lung cancer, and age would all remind Su Xiucen of her deceased husband and the way to break free from the obsession was very likely to not pursue special treatment for him, but to choose to give up.

After all, the glaring 0% was written right there but Xu Tong didn’t know how to persuade her at the moment.

Lay off 50% of employees, done.

Give up on work-injured employees who couldn’t be cured in 3 rounds, also agreed.

Even gave up on all other employees with 0% cure rate, leaving just this one, deducting only 1,000 minutes of visa time per round.

Xu Tong couldn’t reveal any information related to the judgment task. How could she convince Su Xiucen to really give up?

While she was still thinking about how to speak, Su Xiucen again said pleadingly, ”Could you go prepare a new plan first?

”Let’s handle all the other matters first. Can we keep this person a bit longer?

”There’s still time, let me think more, let me think more...”

Xu Tong nodded, ”Alright, Aunt Su, you think about it more.

”Think carefully...”
