Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Near the Sun.

Lu Li kept a close watch on the probe’s trajectory.

At first, he truly couldn’t decipher what the probe was examining.

However, with meticulous observation, he vaguely discerned that the probe seemed to be assessing the Sun’s mass, lifespan, and energy release.

Seeing this, Lu Li was taken aback, ”Previously, I speculated that this probe was a product of alien technology, so why would aliens want to probe the Sun’s mass, lifespan, and energy release?”

Could it be... the aliens intend to equip the Sun with a ”Dyson Sphere,” thus needing to check the situation?

Most people know what a Dyson Sphere is; it was a theory proposed by the physicist Old Ugly, Freeman Dyson, in 1960, essentially a man-made celestial body of up to two hundred million kilometers in diameter, designed to encase a star to harvest its energy.

This is a natural nuclear fusion reactor using a star as a power source.

For Earthlings, this is a ”fantasy.”

In fact, Lu Li, with the help of the super artificial intelligence ”Nuwa,” has been turning this fantasy into reality.

He believes that with Nuwa’s simulation, it won’t be long before humans can master the Dyson Sphere, symbolizing ”stellar civilization.”

Therefore, he knows quite a bit about the ”Dyson Sphere.”

The energy contained within a planet like Earth is very limited, not nearly enough to support the civilization on it reaching an advanced stage.

In a star-planet system, the vast majority of energy comes from the radiation of the star, but unfortunately, most of it is wasted.

As of 2023, our solar system’s planets have only received about one billionth of the Sun’s radiated energy.

A highly developed civilization would inevitably have the capability to envelop the Sun in a huge spherical structure, capturing most of the star’s radiated energy. Only this could sustain the civilization’s rapid development long-term.

For example, Nuwa’s envisioned final form of the ”Dyson Sphere” would, without affecting the solar system’s planets’ energy reception, capture the energy radiated to other regions by the Sun and supply it for humanity’s use.

Doing so would basically have little impact on the planets in the solar system.

For instance, humans could still enjoy ample sunlight as before.

In theory, installing a ”Dyson Sphere” around the Sun shouldn’t pose much of a problem.

Lu Li knows that saying this from his or humanity’s perspective, there isn’t much of an issue.

But, what if we analyze it from the perspective of an invader?

He has sufficient reason to believe that if the invaders want to install a Dyson Sphere around the Sun, they wouldn’t be satisfied only with capturing most of the energy but rather would aim to obtain all the energy.

In other words, Lu Li believes the aliens would set up a ”closed system” Dyson Sphere around the Sun.

What would happen then?

All of the Sun’s radiated energy would be captured!

Then, in the solar system, neither Earth nor Venus nor even Jupiter, or any other planet and region, would receive the Sun’s radiation, leading to extinction.

Lu Li squinted his eyes, ”I seem to understand why the gamma-ray burst is about to occur.”

He initially guessed that the gamma-ray burst might be artificially induced.

Now, discovering this alien probe further verifies his previous thoughts.

Lu Li speculates that the aliens want to find a suitable star to harvest energy but fear interference from intelligent life within the stellar system, so they trigger a dying star to release, or activate a certain weapon to create a gamma-ray burst.

If his speculation holds true, then the technological level of this alien species’ civilization would be extraordinarily high.

Lu Li maximized his super senses, wanting to see if there are any traces of alien civilization belonging to the probe nearby.

Unfortunately, despite his super senses being impressive, able to sense situations millions of kilometers away, he still couldn’t detect any traces of alien races here.

It’s as if these alien species, apart from dispatching the probe, haven’t personally come here.

”I must find these alien species,” he thought.

Lu Li’s face was grim, ”Otherwise, even if I resolve the gamma-ray burst this time, next time, this alien species could still make a comeback. I must find them and annihilate the threat at its root!”

Though he couldn’t find them for now, it doesn’t mean he’ll never find them.

Lu Li didn’t rush but continued to wait for the probe to finish assessing the Sun, then flicked his finger to attach an imperceptible energy to the probe.

This bit of energy could serve as a coordinate, so when the probe returns to the alien species, he can trace it back.

As for how to trace it back, it’s quite simple.

If the distance is relatively close, Lu Li can traverse instantly by disintegrating his body into particles.

In this state, he can traverse over a hundred million kilometers per second, covering a light-year distance in just over twenty-three hours.

Of course, if the alien species’ location is relatively far, like several or dozens of light-years away, Lu Li has another method. He can utilize the ”Wormhole jumping” superpower to reach in an extremely short time.

Lu Li believes this civilization’s technology level must be very advanced, and its weapons certainly very sophisticated, but he isn’t worried about his safety.

Because he embodies the might of heaven and earth, possessing various extraordinary abilities himself, even when facing a destructive extraterrestrial civilization, he can handle it calmly.
