Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Gu Wei smiled sincerely and said, ”Although I hope such a thing doesn’t happen, right now this is the only hope for the eight billion people on Earth to survive. These are my true feelings; I hope you don’t mind.”

Lu Li waved his hand and said, ”I don’t mind. If I were in your position, I would hope for the same.”

Gu Wei nodded, ”Do you need me to spread this message? Perhaps doing so would make it a bit easier for you to rule Earth afterward.”

Lu Li understood his intention.

Now, although the eight billion people on Earth appear calm, it’s because they’re beyond despair.

If I stand up at this moment and say I’ll disregard past grievances to save Earth, it would certainly make the world grateful.

Then, once the gamma-ray burst event passes, becoming a ”Star Lord” would face less resistance.

Indeed, this approach is quite appropriate, but he shook his head and refused, ”No need. Like you said earlier, once you’ve reached my ’level’, there’s no need to care about the thoughts of eight billion ’ants’ worldwide. Saving Earth is my business. Protecting my Earth is another matter. Why should I bother explaining even a word to them?”

Gu Wei stared at Lu Li’s face in silence for a long time.

After a while, he sighed and said, ”Maybe, this is humanity’s blessing.”

Hearing this, Lu Li smiled and said firmly, ”It certainly is humanity’s blessing!”

He believed that as long as everyone on Earth followed his lead, conquering the entire Cosmos wouldn’t be a problem for humanity.

Of course, Lu Li didn’t have such grand ”ideals.”

The reason he wanted to become a ”Star Lord” was simply to allow his family and friends to live happier lives and then to pursue what he wanted to pursue peacefully.

In any case, he had already made up his mind.

To turn Earth into ”his Earth” after the gamma-ray burst!

At this moment, he no longer cared if saving the world would be self-defeating.

The only thing Lu Li cared about now was that as long as his relatives and friends could live happily.

As he pondered this, Gu Wei was also sighing inwardly, believing that when Lu Li dealt with the gamma-ray burst and saved the world, even if he didn’t want to become a ”Star Lord,” he would undoubtedly be revered as the ”Savior,” with a status equivalent to or even surpassing the mythological ”God.”

The premise is that the people of the world can know that Earth was saved by Lu Li.

...

Lu Li had originally figured things out.

Whether the Earth’s people sought his help no longer mattered.

Whether it would be self-defeating was no longer important either.

Yet the turn of events was beyond Lu Li’s expectations.

Two days passed in the blink of an eye.

Only one day remained until the gamma-ray burst, which Lu Li had announced would sweep through the solar system and decimate Earth’s surface life.

The entire world’s eight billion people, who had been ”resigned to their fate,” suddenly transformed from ”calm” to ”frenzied” as they felt death approaching.

Some hid at home, wailing and crying hysterically.

Others became ”deranged,” running outside, shouting and yelling.

Of course, some erupted from oppression, beginning looting and robbery, just to vent one last time before dying.

However, the vast majority of people experienced emotional breakdowns under extreme oppression and then began hoping to continue surviving.

Thus, what Lu Li had no longer anticipated actually turned around in a shocking reversal at the last moment.

People from all countries around the world frantically logged onto social media, found Lu Li’s account, and desperately begged him to save the world.

A million people!

Ninety-six million two hundred thousand people!

One billion two hundred seventy-five million four hundred sixty thousand people!

The entire planet’s eight billion people seemed to have gone mad, desperately pleading with Lu Li to save them!
