Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

If one day, we find a rift in time and space, and then travel through it to distant outer space, or to the bygone days of childhood, wouldn’t that be something quite cool?

This rift in time and space is a concept first proposed in 1916 by Austrian physicist Ludwig Folem, and further hypothesized in 1930 by Einstein and Nathan Rosen while studying the gravitational field equations, believed to allow instantaneous space transfer, or time travel—a wormhole.

Although Lu Li’s sixth deep evolution hasn’t yet reached a perfect state, without fully igniting the ”Flame of True Self,” this evolution has allowed him to touch upon some of the ”laws” of the cosmos, thereby mastering superpowers unimaginable to ordinary people...

No, it should be called the ”Divine Skills” that only gods can possess.

The ability to perform wormhole leaps is one of the latest among these ”Divine Skills” he has mastered.

”Currently, I possess two methods of wormhole leaps.”

Lu Li carefully sensed himself, ”The first method is an ’upgraded version’ of teleportation. It requires the use of vast energy to open a wormhole channel at my current location, then enter and continuously advance, reach a destination, and open another entrance to complete the traversal.”

This method is undoubtedly the simplest, yet it consumes the most energy.

He seriously estimated that the energy currently stored within his body could only open a wormhole for a distance of a light-year at most before being exhausted.

As for wanting to open a time channel...

Well, Lu Li has not sensed any ability to traverse time.

”In my current perception, time is irreversible.”

As Lu Li pondered silently, he felt a bit puzzled, ”Hypothetically, if time travel were possible and faced with the ’Grandparent Paradox,’ what would happen?”

What is the ”Grandparent Paradox”?

It’s the paradox introduced in 1943 by French science fiction writer Herné Bachezaville in his novel ”The Accidental Tourist.”

The paradox is as follows: If you travel back in time and kill your grandparents before your father is born, a contradiction arises.

You go back in time and kill your young grandmother; if she dies, then there would be no father, and consequently, no you, so who killed the grandmother?

Alternatively, your existence implies your grandmother did not die because of you, so how could you kill her?

At present, Lu Li has not sensed the capability to traverse time from his acquired ”wormhole leap” ability.

Therefore, he currently believes that time travel is unrealistic, though it’s uncertain in the future.

”The first method consumes too much energy.”

Lu Li recalled the second method, ”If I can find an existing ’space rift’ in cosmic space, I can use my superfluid properties to traverse it and cross millions of light-years to an unknown star realm in a short time.”

This method carries some danger.

If unaware of what lies beyond the rift, one might inadvertently step into a chaotic energy zone.

For instance, encountering hazardous situations like a supernova explosion or vacuum decay.

However, it is not unavoidable.

Lu Li could let a ”solar god” avatar explore a certain area.

Once confirmed safe, he could leave a ”coordinate” near the ”space rift” there.

Then open up a ”space rift” on his side to traverse directly across.

In this way, the energy consumed is much less than the first method, slightly more than the second method.

”Coincidentally, there’s a ’space rift’ nearby. Should I leave a ’coordinate’ to return and try a wormhole leap?”

Lu Li was unsure of the situation on the other side, but he decided to give it a try.

With that thought, he moved with his mind.

His body immediately transformed into a superfluid state.

He traversed a distance of more than four million kilometers between Earth and Venus.

This distance is vast, but for Lu Li, it took hardly any time, just ”two thoughts.”

During the large-scale space traversal, an interesting event occurred.

Lu Li noticed that once his ”speed” reached a certain threshold, the superfluid state ”fractured” into an endless ”particle” state as before.

The next moment, his ”particles” contacted a tiny ”rift” the size of an atom.

Lu Li paused there, his body automatically reverting from a ”particle” state to a superfluid.

Such a minuscule ”rift,” under normal circumstances, almost no material could pass through.

His superfluid state is different; even quarks can easily pass through.

Naturally, it wouldn’t be obstructed by a ”rift” the size of an atom.

Lu Li left a trace of his own energy as a ”return coordinate,” then entered it.

Instantly, an extraordinary scene unfolded in his perception.

Lu Li perceived countless ”quantum” before him, vast and boundless, emitting dazzling light.

He had an instinctive sense that his superfluid state seemed to have become part of the ”quantum,” equivalent to the prior ”fractured state” of ”particles,” and in a flash, traversed an endless distance, arriving at the other end of the ”space rift.”

Yes, it took only a moment.

After passing through the ”quantum channel,” Lu Li instantly condensed his body into the form of a normal human, then fully extended his perception to sense the surrounding conditions.

Here, with the naked eye, everything seemed a pitch-black area, devoid of material existence.

As he released his powerful perception, extending over a million kilometers, he ”viewed” a magnificent surrounding scene.

There were three stars very close to one another, seemingly influencing each other and moving along certain trajectories.

The farthest star is the smallest, incapable of being compared to the Sun, with a size only about a quarter of Jupiter’s volume.

At a great distance from this very tiny star, there is another star with higher brightness, whose volume is significantly larger, though not as large as the Sun, yet not far off.

Lu Li made precise comparisons and analyzed that this star’s volume is 0.81 times that of the Sun.

Finally, there is a giant star, even more distant.

Its size is larger than the Sun, approximately 1.3 times bigger to the naked eye.

This is a Star Realm of a Triple Star System.

Among them, the two slightly larger stars are close to each other, orbiting one another.

The smallest star orbits around the two slightly larger stars.

In the Fixed Star Realm of the smallest star, there are three planets orbiting.

One of them is a rocky planet, with a diameter about 1.07 times that of Earth.

The largest planet has a volume 15.6 times that of Earth.

The smallest planet’s volume is only one-eighth of Earth’s.

The largest planet has nothing too noteworthy; it is a frozen planet.

Even a million kilometers away, Lu Li can still sense that the temperature is far too low, too low to support any life forms.

However, seeing the smallest planet made him look astonished.

Because he observed that not only is there liquid water and an atmosphere on this small planet.

There are even things similar to primordial microorganisms from ancient Earth!

Life!

There’s extraterrestrial life on this small planet!

Lu Li stood in shock, deeply moved inside.

Humans have long assumed that there might not be other planets with life in the cosmos, believing humanity to be ”alone” in the universe.

But now!

However, at this moment!

Lu Li can confidently say, humanity... is not alone!

The only disappointment for him is that no intelligent life has been born on this small planet; the life forms present are merely primitive single-celled organisms.

”Perhaps, if this planet undergoes millions of years of evolution, it might give rise to intelligent life forms akin to humans.”

Gazing at the small planet, Lu Li is deep in contemplation, ”Of course, that might not happen either, as who can predict how many ’catastrophes’ this small planet might undergo over millions of years, potentially destroying the existing life forms.”

He then turns his attention to the remaining medium-sized planet.

Will this incredibly Earth-like planet with similar size and mass harbor life?

From its distance to the smallest star, it should be within the habitable zone of the star system, close enough to the parent star but not tidally locked!

Lu Li suddenly becomes interested, ”Not being tidally locked means, unlike the Moon always showing one face to Earth, this Earth-sized planet can have alternating day and night cycles across different regions, providing Earth-like conditions for life.”

The question now is whether this planet contains liquid water, an atmosphere, and the like.

If it does, it could very well become humanity’s second ”Earth,” a habitable home.

As he observes the planet, he sees a thick atmosphere, countless mountains and rivers, and... countless plants and animals!

Lu Li is moved, ”With plants and animals?”

Has this planet actually nurtured relatively advanced life forms?

The only uncertainty is whether intelligent life similar to humans has emerged.

He explores the planet further, witnessing many strangely shaped plants and animals.

For example, there is a plant on this planet similar to the baobab tree, only larger.

There is a group of creatures around two to three meters tall, resembling monkeys, eating the pods from the trees.

The pods are fruits with multiple seeds, resembling large bread.

Under the tree, there are ”chickens” seven to eight meters long.

Unfortunately, they are featherless.

Bare, looking much like dinosaurs.

Moreover, some flying ”insects” are quite large.

Similar to ladybugs, they are the size of ducks.

”Mosquitoes” are the size of a baby’s fist.

Countless varieties of plants and animals thrive on this primitive planet!

Most importantly, Lu Li has not observed any intelligent life forms akin to humans.

What does this imply?

It means as long as this planet’s atmospheric composition and gravity are not much different from Earth’s, humanity could claim it as a second ”home”!

Lu Li gazes at the planet, quietly marveling.

Previously, he pondered where his family and friends could survive if he couldn’t withstand gamma-ray bursts on Earth.

Now, with the sixth deep evolution, not only has he found a way to deal with the gamma-ray bursts, he has also discovered a planet potentially suitable for human habitation.

The sixth deep evolution, even though not completely finished, already offers tremendous help.

”Go to that planet for analysis, to see if it’s fit for human survival.”

Lu Li silently hopes for the planet to be suitable for human life.
