Eternal Thief

Ace was given the shock of his life when the Primal Spirit casually revealed not only the secret of the Thief’s Space, but also Moira, and he was even sure she just mentioned the system as well!

Even if the Primal Spirit could guess what the Thief’s Space was since they were apparently within the Thief’s House Space of the Thief’s House, he was even willing to accept that she detected Moira somehow, but the system, this was unbelievable!

A deep chill ran down his spine as he looked at the tiny figure, who looked harmless and innocent. Furthermore, the way she put her words also made Ace agitate because she wasn’t wrong at all. He really wasn’t in complete control of the system!

‘Can every Primal Spirit do this…? NO! The description said every Primal Spirit is unique, so she may be the only one with this ability. Could this be the reason behind sealing her? She had probably learned something she shouldn’t have, and then the person sealed her to keep her mouth shut since she can’t be killed or there’s another reason…’

A vague killing intent rose in Ace’s wildly beating heart, but he quickly suppressed it. He kept his face straight as he asked, “Who are you and why were you sealed?”

The Primal Spirit still seemed without any care for the world, but her profound eyes gave Ace the chills.

A hint of confusion appeared on her face at this moment as she politely replied, “Oh, where are my manners? You can call me Pixy, but I can’t tell you my true name, at least not yet. I must assess your qualifications first. But why are you saying I was sealed? Didn’t Mister use the ‘Primal Spirit Ritual’ to select a suitable Primal Spirit for yourself, and since I’m here, it means I’m the most suitable for you, and I can see why.”

Ace was dumbfounded when he heard her perplexing words, ‘What is she talking about, and what’s a ‘Primal Spirit Ritual’? Furthermore, from her words, it seemed anyone could summon a suitable Primal Spirit for themselves. But how is that possible, and how many of these Primal Spirits are there? Moreover, did she just say she needs to assess me before telling me her true name, and her final words imply that she’s the correct choice? Well, since I found her with the Fate map…’

Suppressing his confusion and curiosity, he impassively replied, “Miss Pixy, can you please elaborate?”

More confusion surfaced in her enthralling eyes, “What’s there to elaborate, mister? I’m a Primal Spirit, and you are a cultivator, which makes us congenial to form a Primal Bond. However, I do need to check your qualifications to see if we are compatible with each other.”

Ace was perplexed, ‘She’s clearly oblivious to the fact that she was sealed in that stele…or could it be this summoning works like this and these Primal Spirits come in those ‘stele’? But I never summoned her! So, it could only mean whoever summoned her knew the ritual, but they weren’t able to open the stele. This is the only explanation I can think of…but how did I end up compatible with someone else’s primal spirit?’

Before he could ask further questions, Pixy suddenly said, “Well, we’ll have all the time to get acquainted with each other. Just Mister’s mysterious treasure made you qualified for a Primal Bond, despite you not being able to master it fully.

“But I still need to see your cultivation foundation since I can only form a Spirit Bond once in my lifetime, and you are the same; you can only have a single Primal Spirit in your life. So, I need to see if your cultivation foundation is enough to help me reach my full potential and hopefully my ultimate goal.

“I hope you understand this since your potential needed to match or surpass mine, because if you have no potential, everything you have will be passed on to someone else, and once you exhaust it all, I’ll be stuck with you and die with you, which is not good.” Pixy solemnly explained, leaving Ace’s mind reeling.

“Wait…” Ace tried to raise a question again, but suddenly Pixy flapped her wing and, at an unimaginable speed that far surpassed Ace’s own reflexes, she was in front of Ace’s chest.

But the next moment, she took a step forward and, under Ace’s dumbfounded gaze, she passed through his clothes and skin, and directly entered his heart as if it were a portal!

Appalled, Ace touched his chest in flurried, and after making sure nothing was wrong, he became even more shocked.

“Where did she go?!”

As if answering his question, Pixy’s voice rang directly into his mind, “Aha~, a nascent primordial world with Creation, Astral, and Destruction laws already integrated into them. Oh, the Law of Destruction is from a ‘Primordial Source’, very impressive. You have also opened a Primordial Beast Space.

“But your Prime Law, the foundation of this world, is directly from the Order of Darkness; I wonder how you were able to get it. You have the qualifications to become a #$%@$…”

Ace’s eyes widened as one of his deepest secrets, his Primordial Foundation, was revealed with the Order of Darkness. It was like he was fully exposed, which wasn’t a good feeling at all.

Quickly, Ace closed his eyes and sent his perception into his nascent world. He saw in his nascent world, filled with chaotic lands and astral skies, that the beautiful Pixy, with her ethereal wings, was hovering at the very center of it, right where the Dark Void was located, like a black hole.

Pixy was looking at the Dark Void with extreme curiosity and with a hint of confusion, as she commented, “This thing is also connected with that mysterious treasure, but it’s not its source…”

‘Just what is this Primal Spirit!’ Ace was feeling extremely agitated as he looked at Pixy, who seemed unaffected by his world and was completely at ease.

Although he knew treasures with spirits could enter his inner world, even Malservus was within his inner world; however, even she needed a treasure to enter it. But Pixy had done it without it, and the strangest part was the system didn’t obstruct her at all.

“What are you doing?” Ace’s furious yet nervous voice rang in his inner world.

Pixy replied, her tone was still carefree and friendly, “Oh, please don’t mind me, I’m just checking your qualifications. And I have to say, you have a perfect foundation – nothing like I’ve ever heard. It’s almost like something from a myth. Your body is also a source of your strength, which means you also cultivate the force, and with the Order of Darkness, it’ll be a waste not to cultivate force.”

Suddenly, a hint of regret surfaced in Pixy’s eyes, “Any other Primal Spirit would’ve jumped at the chance to form a Primal Bond with you. But despite all of this, it still only meets my bare minimum requirements. What to do…please give me a moment to think…”

Ace almost laughed out loud in anger after he heard Pixy’s polite yet arrogant words, and he felt as if his pride was challenged, ‘Did she just say ‘bare-minimum requirements’? Why am I feeling so offended?!’
