Eternal Thief

At this moment, Steward Jesper stood within the familiar Prosperity Evaluation Chamber of the Prime Heavenly Wealth King Sect. For some reason, his expression mirrored the time when he had taken Ace into this chamber to evaluate his talent.

To some extent, even the scene in front of him was the same. The Martial Resonance Orb was broken into tiny pieces, the Meridian Flow Soul Altar was completely ruined, and the Talent Ascension Mirror had shattered into countless pieces.

The only difference this time was that the person who had done this wasn’t Ace, but another handsome young man with a tall stature and a toned build. He was clad in white robes with golden embroidery.

His eyes were golden and heroic, matching his long, golden hair, which was draped over his broad shoulders. There was a golden symbol on his glabella in the shape of a justice scale.

He looked at the flabbergasted Steward Jesper and smiled, saying, “I seek your forgiveness, Steward, but it seems I was right.”

Despite his arrogant and overbearing words, his tone sounded humble and gentle. Even if his words were offensive, Steward Jesper couldn’t find any reason to refute him because the ‘proof’ was right in front of him.

Furthermore, this young man gave him a completely opposite feeling than Ace, who seemed curious and somewhat determined, but this young man seemed observant and conscientious.

Moreover, the biggest difference was Ace appeared respectful and even revered him, yet this young man was neither servile nor overbearing despite knowing who Jesper was and his status.

Jesper pretended to be calm, but his heart was anything but peaceful. ‘How in the world could there be another ‘Heaven’s Chosen’?! And they both appeared at the same time!’

Still, he kept himself in check as he impassively said without letting his true thoughts show on his face, “It seems so. But now, can you tell me why you insist on entering the Prosperity Evaluation Chamber, and who told you about it? I hope you’re not specifically here to destroy this old man’s tools and humiliate the PHW King Sect, right? I’m pretty sure the Deputy Guardian Brittny didn’t know about the Prosperity Evaluation Chamber despite her infatuation with you, ‘Heaven’s Advocate’?”

Damien smilingly ambiguously as he said, “Oh, please do forgive me if I have offended you, and I can assure you that I have no intention of humiliating the PHW King Sect. And please don’t blame Deputy Guardian Brittny; she has been nothing but dutiful. What you’re taking as infatuation is her devotion to Justice, not me.

“To answer your primary question, please forgive me when I say that if I hadn’t done what I did, and showed you my ‘talent’, would we be having this conversation? Would I have drawn ‘both’ of your interests?”

Jesper’s expression changed subtly as he said with a hint of coldness in his tone, “Did you just say ‘both’ instead of ‘you’? Young man, are you amusing yourself on my expense?”

Damien’s eyes flickered as he looked at Jesper, but the smile on his face didn’t fade; instead, it widened. “Sigh…senior, I came here with sincerity despite all the accusations of I being associated with the Sky Stealer and even worse, I being that disgusting abomination of all things.

“However, justice is on my side, and I’ll do nothing against justice. But I’m but a humble sect master of a first-grade sect, and powerless to bring forth justice to the entire world. Knowing my shortcomings, I came here in the hope that the PHW King Sect can take the Heavenly Justice Court under its shelter and help spread justice of Heaven.”

A deeply profound aura suddenly emits from Damien, “That’s why, I’m being honest, and I hope the PHW King Sect can be honest with me as well, because I’m the Son of Heaven, the same one the PHW King Sect has been searching for. So, I wonder if the ‘Wealth King’ will grant me an audience, especially if you want to find the ‘truth of *&^%*…”

Damien’s last word suddenly turned into gibberish under Jesper’s widened eyes, but before he could even snap out of his stupor, Damien had already vanished from his place.

‘The Matriarch took him! Just what is going on? Furthermore, how in the world did he know about ‘Son of Heaven’ and claim to be the one? Could he really be the ‘Son of Heaven’?

‘Maybe that’s why he first insisted on entering the Prosperity Evaluation Chamber, because he might also know the reason behind its establishment. But only the Matriarch truly knew of these secrets, not even the Sect Master knew about them, and I know I didn’t leak them, nor can I.

‘It’s almost like he knew what the ‘Son of Heaven’ represents and what it means for the PHW King Sect. But if he’s the one, then who is Ace supposed to be since he also meets all the requirements of being the ‘Son of Heaven’.

‘The strangest thing is, the Matriarch didn’t seem to care about Ace while she instantly grants this Heaven’s Advocate an audience. But it wasn’t that simple since he said something and only then did Matriarch react, and he also knew she was paying attention…I don’t like this…’

Jasper grimaced as it was the first time he didn’t know what was going on, and the Matriarch was acting extremely strange ever since Ace had appeared, and now this Heaven’s Advocate made this entire matter more complex.

Damien appeared in a vast, luxurious, golden hall. After a hint of astonishment, he regained his composure as his eyes landed in the center of the hall, where an imposing throne was located, and a regal figure of a curvaceous woman sat on it.

She was adorned in golden robes; her face was hidden behind a faceless mask, but her bright gray eyes were visible, filled with profound wisdom and uncertainty. A golden white crown rested on her head, with snow-white hair, and her aura was profound and unfathomable.

She appeared completely one with her surroundings, as if laws were a part of her, and without someone looking, she would seem completely invisible.

The identity of this empress-like woman was equally noble and terrifying, as she was the current Wealth King of the Prime Heavenly King Sect, also known as the Prosperity Matriarch among the Ascension Kings.

The moment Damien looked at the Prosperity Matriarch, he suddenly felt a powerful mental pressure weighing down on his mind, as heavy as a mountain, and anyone else in his position would’ve already prostrated themselves in front of her, yet he remained unaffected.

“You can remain sane under my King’s Might, quite impressive.” Prosperity Matriarch’s melodious voice sounded at this moment with a hint of acknowledgment, “But I guess it’s only natural for the Son of Heaven and an Oracle!”
