Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 1041: Chapter 489: Gathering of Winds and Clouds (Second Update)

Just as she turned onto the path leading to Quentin Parker’s big house, a few car horns sounded behind her, as if greeting her.

Lawrence Winters glanced in the rearview mirror and noticed a low-key Mercedes slowly driving not far behind her.

At this moment, the right window of the Mercedes rolled down slowly, and a lady wearing sunglasses waved at her, ”Lawrence!”

Lawrence’s eyes lit up, and she quickly parked her Porsche by the roadside, got out, and ran over with a smile, ”Mrs. Foster, what brings you here?”

It was Edward Foster’s mother, Fiona Southgate.

Edward’s voice came from the car, ”Lawrence, why do you only have eyes for my mom? What about me? I’m right here, a handsome guy, and you can’t see me?”

The Mercedes came to a complete stop, and Lawrence saw Edward sitting in the driver’s seat.

She was even more surprised, her eyes curving like crescent moons, ”Young Mr. Foster is here too? Are you here for vacation or vacation?”

She couldn’t think of another reason.

Mrs. Foster smiled meaningfully, ”Of course we’re on vacation, and also to watch the drama unfold.”

Edward waved at Lawrence, ”Lawrence, we’ve arranged with Mr. Parker to stay at his house for a few days, how about it? You don’t mind, right?”

Lawrence quickly shook her head, ”It’s Mr. Parker’s house, when did it become my place to object? Besides, his house is amazingly big, ten more people could stay comfortably.”

”That’s good, Edward and I were worried about disturbing you.” Mrs. Foster nodded with a smile, ”Then let’s head over.”

Lawrence stood up straight, ”You guys drive behind me, we’ll be there in no time.”

She returned to her Porsche parked by the roadside and promptly started the car.

Edward, grinning cheekily in the car, said to his mother, ”Thanks for helping me out, Mom. When did you meet Mr. Parker?”

Quentin has always kept a low profile in the area; those who know of his influence are the elite from various countries.

Edward’s father and mother have some knowledge about Quentin, but Edward himself knows little.

”Your father had intentions of collaborating with Mr. Parker years ago, but it was put on hold when Mr. Parker suddenly left.” Mrs. Foster didn’t say much, ”All right, this time your parents put their pride aside to get you this opportunity, don’t waste it!”

”I know! If Evan hadn’t let it slip, I wouldn’t know Kenneth was so cunning! They’re already divorced, yet he won’t stop pestering Lawrence!” Edward slapped the steering wheel, feeling incensed.

”Two single people living together, what if they rekindle the flame? Then your son would be single forever!” Edward blustered.

Mrs. Foster knew Edward was just venting; she didn’t believe if he couldn’t win Lawrence, he would remain single for life.

But how often in life do you get the chance to pursue someone you like or something you want?

While he’s still young, letting him try is a good thing.

Plus, Mrs. Foster genuinely liked Lawrence. If Lawrence became her daughter-in-law, she’d be the best mother-in-law.

Evan’s ”accidental” slip prompted Edward to fly overseas overnight to keep an eye on Lawrence and Kenneth.

Worried that Lawrence wouldn’t agree to let him stay with them, he persuaded Mrs. Foster to come too.

With Mrs. Foster accompanying him, Lawrence certainly wouldn’t refuse out of respect.

Sure enough, seeing Mrs. Foster and Edward together, she didn’t think about that issue.

Driving her Porsche, Lawrence quickly returned to Quentin’s house, which was one-third the size of the Louvre Palace.

But in the open space in front of the garage, she saw two more cars parked.

One was a Tesla, almost identical to Kenneth’s.

The other was a luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom, with Evan Stetford’s license plate.

Curiously, Lawrence walked up the steps.

Is Evan here?

And whose is the Tesla?

Soon after, Mrs. Foster and Edward’s car drove over, parking next to Lawrence’s Porsche.

Lawrence waited on the steps for them to enter the house together.

She pointed to the smart fingerprint and iris lock at the door, ”Later, add your fingerprint and iris data, then you can come and go freely.” 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

Edward, who originally studied architecture, was keenly interested in the device. Hearing Lawrence describe its convenient and secure features, he smiled and said, ”We should consider installing these locks at the villas we’re developing together; they are truly smart and safe!”
