Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 1007: Chapter 477: Hugging the Big Shot’s Leg (First Update, Seeking Recommendation Tickets!)

Abigail Henderson returned at this moment and said, ”The dishes are here. I also ordered coconut juice. Miss Winters, do you drink coconut juice?”

”I do! I really like coconut juice and coconut milk,” Lawrence Winters nodded with a smile. ”Thank you, Miss Henderson.”

”Just call me Abigail.”

”Then you can call me Lawrence.”

Abigail nodded lightly and then sat down between Aiden Sheldon and Kenneth Osborne.

That was actually her seat all along, but after Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne arrived, Evan Stetford voluntarily gave up his position, which made Abigail’s seat shift a bit.

However, she didn’t mind.

This dinner was a work dinner for her.

Quentin Parker had disappeared for so many years, and his previous team had disbanded. Now that he suddenly returned, the lawyers in their firm were scrambling to join Quentin Parker’s team.

Her specialization was in intellectual property. Although she graduated from a prestigious school and had an impressive track record, her qualifications were originally not enough to join Quentin Parker’s team.

Unexpectedly, Quentin Parker this year suddenly wanted a knowledgeable lawyer in the field of Chinese-language intellectual property, and she happened to be very adept at international intellectual property cases and understood Chinese, so she seized the opportunity and recommended herself.

Quentin Parker agreed after assessing her, accepted her into his team, and immediately gave her a case.

Today she was here to meet her client, Kenneth Osborne.

So sitting between Kenneth Osborne and Aiden Sheldon was just right.

Once everyone was seated, the waiter began serving the dishes.

The first course was a starter salad.

Abigail Henderson dutifully introduced it, ”This dish is called Sea Snow Lotus. It’s actually a type of fern from the sea, which looks a bit like succulent petals. It is seasoned with vinegar and a touch of sugar, without any salt, MSG, or chicken essence, because it’s naturally flavorful.”

Earlier, Kenneth Osborne mentioned that Lawrence Winters preferred light and sweet flavors, so she paid special attention to this when ordering.

Moreover, as everyone would be eating while talking, spicy or strongly flavored foods wouldn’t be suitable.

She was quite pleased that her own preference was also for light and sweet flavors, making today’s meal very much to her taste.

Lawrence Winters had never eaten a cold salad made from sea vegetables before. Curiously, she picked up a petal-like piece of Sea Snow Lotus and took a bite.

Indeed, it was fresh and tender!

It looked like firm succulent petals, but once in the mouth, it melted like snow and turned into a culinary feast!

Lawrence Winters blinked and thanked Abigail Henderson, ”Abigail, this dish is really great, just to my liking!”

”As long as Lawrence likes it,” Abigail Henderson raised her coconut juice toward her and took a sip.

Quentin Parker had no appetite and didn’t touch the Sea Snow Lotus in front of him, but continued drinking his red wine.

While drinking, he glanced sideways at Lawrence Winters, who was eating with her eyes squinting in delight. He unknowingly smiled and said, ”Lawrence, did you use to be a little chubby kid because of the way you’re eating?”

Lawrence Winters made a couple of ”mm-mm” sounds, ”How did you know, Mr. Parker? I really used to be a chubby kid!”

Quentin Parker: ”...”

He pinched the bridge of his nose again.

In his memory, there was once a cute little chubby kid whom he loved like a younger sister, but she passed away before adulthood...

This was the deepest pain in his heart.

Seeing Lawrence Winters now, it was as if he was glimpsing what that chubby kid would have looked like grown up.

Would she also be this beautiful and charming?

Quentin Parker inadvertently revealed a smile and said, ”If you like it, we can order more.”

”No need, I’m saving room for more delicious dishes later,” Lawrence Winters quickly stopped Quentin Parker and eyed the untouched Sea Snow Lotus in front of him, ”But if Mr. Parker isn’t going to eat it, I can take care of it.”

Quentin Parker was about to signal for his plate to be removed, but seeing Lawrence Winters say this, he chuckled and replied, ”You don’t mind?”

”Mind what?”

”That it’s my dish.”

”But you haven’t touched it. It’s clean. I can see it clearly from here,” Lawrence Winters noticed that Quentin Parker seemed uninterested in food, only in his red wine.

Quentin Parker nodded, ”Alright then, you eat.”

He pushed his plate of Sea Snow Lotus toward Lawrence Winters.

Lawrence Winters happily accepted it and used a fork to eat a piece of Sea Snow Lotus petal.

Quentin Parker swirled his glass of red wine, gazing at Lawrence Winters with narrowed eyes, smiling and saying, ”Lawrence, you really resemble my sister when she was young.”

”Mr. Parker has a sister?” Evan Stetford asked curiously.
