Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 1023: Chapter 482: Even Cold and Distant People Have a Thoughtful Side (Second Update)

”You wrote it casually?! Just one person? Developed the intelligent software for a three-dimensional graphic recognition system?!” Kenneth Osborne was even more shocked, and somewhat in awe.

Quentin Parker understood what he meant, his expression remained cool, but there was a slight warmth in his tone, ”Well, it’s actually not too difficult. Writing software can also be done by machines themselves, without needing us to handle everything personally, right? Otherwise, what’s the point of developing artificial intelligence for computers?”

Kenneth Osborne: ”!!!”

These words were like a revelation, allowing Kenneth Osborne to suddenly see the light.

His eyes brightened, and he was eager to find a place to start working on the concept Quentin Parker had given him.

Providing a set of program rules and logic to the computer, and then letting the computer automatically complete billions of lines of code, what a groundbreaking initiative this is!

Anyone who has written code knows that those lines of instructions constantly extending are often repetitive labor, not unlike construction workers building houses, jokingly calling themselves ”code workers,” white-collar workers among blue-collar ones.

If machines can take over and realize the intelligence of software writing, just like using robots to build houses, it can liberate humans from meaningless repetitive tasks to do other more meaningful things.

Lawrence Winters stood aside, looking at Kenneth Osborne, then Quentin Parker, and confirmed they were talking about something she didn’t understand.

She shrugged, watched Kenneth Osborne first input fingerprint and retina data, then the door clunked open, and he was the first to walk in.

Quentin Parker and Lawrence Winters stood in front of the heavy black oak door, surrounded by tall stone pillars adorned with intricate ornate patterns.

The grass in front was lush, with a fountain occasionally spraying up from the pool in the courtyard center, forming small rainbows in the direction of the sunlight.

A breeze gently carried the moisture over, making it feel as refreshing as being inside a fully intelligent central air conditioning system, with temperature and humidity most suitable for human comfort.

Quentin Parker looked at Lawrence Winters, with a few images flashing in his mind, seeming to recall a little girl who once looked at him with admiration, joyfully chasing rainbows in the courtyard...

Lawrence Winters blinked, ”Quentin?”

Quentin Parker snapped back to reality, one hand seemed to have a mind of its own, brushing Lawrence Winters’s short hair away from her forehead, then quickly retracting, casually saying, ”There are still a few cars in the garage. You can take these two keys and drive yourself out when needed. You all have driver’s licenses, right?”

Lawrence Winters nodded, for the first time diverted from a topic, she looked down at the key in her hand, which looked like a Porsche car key, and said in surprise, ”...This isn’t a real Porsche car key, is it?”

”Yes, if you see a car key that looks like a Porsche car key, and works like a Porsche car key, then it is a Porsche car key.” Quentin Parker said with a semi-humorous riddling response.

Lawrence Winters nearly bent over laughing.

”Alright, I have other things to do, I’m leaving first. Everything inside should be complete, workers come to clean the room weekly, and there’s a part-time worker to shop for groceries once a week, just write down what you want to eat for him.”

”As for Kenneth Osborne, you don’t need to worry about him interfering with your competition, the concept I just threw out is enough to keep him busy for a year or so.” Quentin Parker winked at Lawrence Winters.

Lawrence Winters didn’t expect the seemingly aloof Quentin Parker to have such a considerate and sensitive side, she was so touched she didn’t know what to say.

”Quentin... Quentin, you are so good to me! I... I... I’ll surely take care of you in your old age!”

It was the greatest kindness she could think of for someone.

Quentin Parker’s mouth twitched slightly, ”Am I that old? Do I need you to take care of me in my old age?”

He glared at her, then turned and left.

Quentin Parker was also a busy man, after finishing these matters he returned to his plane, flying back to New York.

...

Lawrence Winters entered the house and took a deep breath, experiencing for the first time what it felt like to live in a museum.

At the entrance, there was a huge sculpture identical to the glass pyramid in front of the Louvre Palace, like a model reduced in scale but proportional.

It also served as a good divider.

Inside, the shining teak floors, large oil paintings of Monet’s water lilies on the walls that seemed to be real, and the huge crystal chandelier on the embossed ceiling made Lawrence Winters’ toes curl.

She was so taken aback she almost couldn’t move.

Looking up, the living room was decorated not only beautifully, but with furnishings and décor that clearly had history; many pieces of furniture had a sense of age, perhaps directly packed and moved from some European palace.

Lawrence Winters mused, then turned her eyes to see Kenneth Osborne.

He was sitting on a deep blue velvet sofa in an 18th-century Rococo style, holding a laptop and quickly typing, writing code.

Seeing this scene, Lawrence Winters felt as if she had fallen from floating in old times to the ground with a thud, feeling nothing.

As long as the sun rises every day from the East, stubborn programmers won’t give up a single moment!

Lawrence Winters rolled her eyes, dragging her suitcase through the living room, heading upstairs.

Kenneth Osborne, without lifting his head, also knew Lawrence Winters had come in.

He looked at his computer screen and said aloud, ”The door on the left side of the living room with Cupid painted on it contains the elevator, taking the elevator upstairs is more convenient and won’t damage the wooden floor.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”
