Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 1028: Chapter 484: Invitation (Second Update, Monthly Ticket 1200+)

”Go ahead and eat, I’ll just sprinkle some pepper salt on the crispy fried ribs, and it’s ready to eat.”

Lawrence Winters nodded, she was really hungry and couldn’t wait for Kenneth Osborne. She sat down and scooped herself a bowl of chicken soup, then tasted the sliced sausage. To her surprise, it was sweet and not the flavor of their hometown.

But the taste was okay, Lawrence ate quite a few slices, and only after drinking a bowl of the chicken soup from the three-seven steam pot chicken did she feel half full.

Then she put down her chopsticks and waited for Kenneth Osborne to come and eat together.

Kenneth Osborne brought out the crispy fried ribs from the kitchen, placed them in front of Lawrence, and said, ”Taste my handiwork.”

Lawrence gave him face, picked up the shared chopsticks, and placed one in her bowl.

Once she started eating, she couldn’t stop.

She polished off more than half the plate of crispy fried pepper salt ribs by herself.

Kenneth Osborne ate mostly the home-style tofu stir-fried with meat and green pepper stir-fried with meat.

He only took one bite of the sausage and spit it out, saying, ”...it’s sweet.”

”Didn’t you check the label when you bought it?”

”The packaging didn’t state the flavor; perhaps bailed sausage is just sweet.”

Kenneth Osborne was both amused and helpless, ”It’s not the taste of the sausage from our hometown, the packaging only states the place of origin, not the flavor.”

After eating several slices of bailed sausage, Lawrence actually started liking the taste, and she finished off the rest.

The two talked at the dining table, and it felt even more harmonious than when they were married.

After eating, Lawrence felt sleepy and helped Kenneth clean up the dishes into the dishwasher, then went upstairs to take a bath alone.

After Quentin Parker’s house was taken back, everything was refurbished and redecorated.

At least, the bedding in her guest room was all brand new Egyptian cotton.

Everyone made a long journey today and cooked dinner, so they were all tired, and even Kenneth went to sleep early.

They woke up the next morning at five o’clock, but they couldn’t sleep anymore.

Lawrence went downstairs to the kitchen, found a carton of milk from the fridge, drank one herself, and made a cup of oatmeal as breakfast.

After eating, seeing it was still early, she and Kenneth went out for a run.

Wearing baseball caps pressed low, they changed into sportswear and sneakers and started jogging around the community.

Lawrence was very curious about what the primeval forest looked like.

After jogging a few laps around the pedestrian path of the community, she was eager to explore, wanting to dive into the primeval forest.

Kenneth couldn’t hold her back and had to follow her down the path, running into the forest together.

At first entering the forest, there was a pebble-paved path, colorful, complementing the wildflowers along the road.

Later, there was no path, with mottled green moss on the black soil, foot-long wild grass, few shrubs, mushroom clusters at the base of towering trees, and pine fungus.

Lawrence regretted not bringing an eco-friendly cloth bag, otherwise, she could have picked these mushrooms and pine fungi to eat. These wild fungi in the mountains, as long as they are not poisonous, are delectable when tossed in soup.

Seeing Lawrence like this, Kenneth crouched down and picked some ordinary edible mushrooms and pine fungi, using his sports jacket to carry them all.

Lawrence saw Kenneth like this and laughed all the way back to Quentin Parker’s mansion.

”Have you laughed enough? I’m doing this for you...” Kenneth gave her a dissatisfied look.

Lawrence, unafraid, glared back at him.

The two playfully argued and came out of the primeval forest, around six o’clock.

At this time, the community was still asleep, even the house where Mr. Zhuge and his family lived was quiet.

Lawrence regretfully said, ”We can’t go there to freeload breakfast.”

”Didn’t you have enough for breakfast?”

”Is it really breakfast without soy milk, youtiao, congee, steamed buns, and dumplings?” Lawrence snorted, ”I want to eat chive boxes.”

Kenneth: ”...”

”Chive boxes aren’t on your ’breakfast’ list,” Kenneth reminded Lawrence.

Lawrence laughed, ”I know, that’s why I want to eat chive boxes.”

Kenneth smiled at her.

This didn’t stump him.

He went to a nearby supermarket yesterday to buy groceries and found there were frozen foods for sale.

There was a frozen chive box that looked delicious, it said just to fry it in oil and eat it.

Kenneth bought two bags and froze them in the fridge.

He returned to the mansion, took a shower, and then went to fry the chive boxes.

Lawrence smelled the aroma and sat in the kitchen, unwilling to leave.

The cooked frozen chive boxes only need heating and can be eaten.

Soon, Lawrence polished off four pieces of chive boxes, consuming an entire bag.

Kenneth didn’t like eating this stuff; he used the soy milk machine to make soy milk and had put a mixture of japonica rice and glutinous rice in the slow cooker to cook yesterday night, and now the congee was ready, even with a layer of ”rice oil” floating on top, very nourishing.

Kenneth scooped all the rice oil into Lawrence’s congee bowl.

Lawrence was almost too full to move, lounging on the sofa. Only just before the last minute did she rush to open the garage door, driving the Porsche that Quentin Parker provided for her to visit Mr. Zhuge’s family.

This time was much faster.

The thunderous roar of the Porsche racing woke up most of the community.

They sleep late at night just for this hour and a half of deep sleep in the morning.

Lawrence pressed the doorbell, waking them up, and laughed, ”The sun is at work, and you’re still sleeping, isn’t it unfair to the sun who tirelessly illuminates for you and helps you with photosynthesis?”

Daoist Wang was so sleepy he felt like he was swaying, just wanting to throw his pillow at Lawrence, yawning, ”Today, we are going to inquire for both parties’ trustees, you aren’t accepting any commission from either side, so why join the fun?”

”My task is to reveal the truth, so, of course, I want to be present to listen,” Lawrence said with great interest.

She played on her phone in the living room for half an hour, waiting for the three people to get ready. Then, under the guidance of the host and the guide respectively, Mr. Zhuge went to Mrs. Fang’s, while Daoist Wang and Daoist Quan went to Miss Tang’s house.

Lawrence pondered for a moment; she had met Miss Tang yesterday, but today she wanted to visit Mrs. Fang.
