Beneath the Red Dragon

Collem shook his head; in the minds of these few Blue Dragons, there was still the ancient Blue Dragon from the Helika Clan. To ascend to a higher level, they chose to separate the interfering will in their bloodline, in a way similar to a Dragon Witch Demon.

Although that ancient Blue Dragon managed to do it, the chaotic and violent blood also lost a powerful source of strength, causing that ancient Blue Dragon’s power to decrease several levels.

Eventually, it suffered a backlash akin to a mental breakdown, going completely mad, leaving the clan, and having been unheard of since.

”It seems that the rumors outside, that the Gogomola Dragon Group and the True Dragon of the Imperial are the perfect manifestation a Giant Dragon should display, are not baseless.”

Grella Helika’s pupils sparkled as if she had found a treasure map.

”I think the Golden Empire should be our next stop. Perhaps our journey through various lands has its ultimate destination right here.”

The young Blue Dragon, Collem, nodded in agreement and said, ”I have the same premonition. Maybe the greatest gain from this training is the journey here.”

”Sabrina, don’t you have anything to say?” The young Blue Dragon Collem turned his head, looking at this Female Dragon with curiosity.

”Me? I want to find Gogomola and lay my first clutch of eggs.” The Female Blue Dragon Sabrina’s pupils showed a hint of either ambition or something strange.

”Gogomola’s bloodline must be very powerful,” this Female Dragon said, standing tall and proud with great momentum, ”If I bear Gogomola’s bloodline, then when I return to the clan and raise them, I’ll have a few outstanding fighters. In the Helika Clan, I will be the first matriarchal leader. If anyone is dissatisfied, I will have my offspring beat them.”

The two male Blue Dragons exchanged glances, simultaneously shaking their heads and laughing derisively, ”Ha, big-breasted and brainless fool!”

Due to the Ancestral Red Dragon’s descent, the disrupted grassland was unsuitable as a meeting place for the leaders of both forces, so the meeting place for the two kings was changed to the Frost Giants’ camp.

The morning mist on the grassland had already dissipated, leaving only a humid scent steaming into thin, white mist under clusters of raging bonfires.

Long-haired Elephants and Land Dragon Beasts from the Frost Plain were slaughtered by the Frost Giants and hung over open-air bonfires, roasting with a rich aroma of oil.

Many Frost Giants gathered around the bonfire, beating beast hide drums, or striking a heavy rhythm with Bone Staffs, singing the distinctively bold and mournful ballads from the Northern Lands.

The Song of the Northern Lands, sung in the voices of Frost Giants, appeared crude to the Dragons’ ears, but it held a unique charm.

Dragons are naturally endowed with a broad aesthetic sense. Although these Frost Giants’ singing couldn’t compare to the performance of the mysterious Song Dragon in the Imperial Central Opera House within the Empire, it still made several Dragons, sitting behind ramshackle long tables, gently tap the table, appreciating the performance of these once-warriors-turned-singers among the Frost Giants.

”King of Azure Thunder, please! Esteemed Dragons, drink heartily!”

The Frost Giant King raised his enormous beast horn cup, toasting to the several Imperial Dragons. His calm cheeks showed no sign of inner emotion.

This composed Frost Giant laughed softly. ”Perhaps the Frost Giants’ drink can’t compare to the fine wines Dragons indulge in, but it has its own merit—it’s strong!”

Blue Dragon Akzhi raised the massive beast horn cup, downing the fiery line of strong liquor, then laughed heartily, ”Fine wine has the taste of fine wine, strong liquor has the taste of strong liquor. The Golden Empire, like the true Dragons of the Imperial, possesses an appreciation and acceptance of all outstanding things,”

”There is no need for the Frost Giant King to be polite. You can directly use my name. The title ’King of Azure Thunder’ is merely a name given to me by mortals. I am not yet worthy of it.”

The Frost Giant King sighed in his heart; a single short response revealed so many nuances. The Golden Empire, this emerging civilization in the Wilderness, in his heart, was already comparable to a mighty Empire.

And the ever-proud Five-Color Dragon, who claimed ’I am second only to the Dragon God,’ learned to use humble words. Even if it was just superficial, it highlighted the fearsome reputation of the Gogomola Dragon Group.

”Ragnar Heg, that’s my name, Sir Akzhi,”

The Frost Giant King showed a respectful expression and, for the first time in front of everyone, spoke his own name.

”Haha, Sir Ragnar, Dragons, and Frost Giants, our species never cared for those courtesies and roundabout words. I will speak to you directly,”

Blue Dragon Akzhi raised his cup to this equally respectable king, drinking down the wine that Blue Dragon Carlette had refilled before speaking.

”The policy of the Empire has long been established. Since Sir Ragnar agreed to make peace with the Empire, I will lay it out straightforwardly.”

The Frost Giant King nodded calmly, looking at Blue Dragon Akzhi’s face, which didn’t seem arrogant and at the extremely calm eyes, then glanced at the nearby White Dragon Saclese, with a contemplative expression.

”Using the statue of the Emperor of the Imperial as a boundary, between the Golden Empire and the Frost Giants, a mutual market exchange is to be established. The Frost Giants can establish a city belonging to both parties here as the mutual market location.”

”The Empire will open trade routes, allowing merchants from the Empire and other places to come and go. The Empire’s tea, salt and iron, grain, silk garments, sugar, medicine, and spices, etc., can all be traded with the Frost Giants,”
