Beneath the Red Dragon

The Northern Snowmen are also a race enslaved and conquered by the Frost Giant King.

There are also some ogres from the cold regions, who have evolved thick fur in the frigid northern lands, giving them a particularly terrifying appearance. They roam the mountains and wilderness of this area, hunting for food.

On the plains, there are also Winter Wolf Cavalry, riding winter wolves, driving and hunting on the land. Most of them are the beloved and slave warriors enslaved by the Frost Giant Race.

These slaves of the Frost Giants must rely on their own hunting to ensure their daily consumption.

The provisions and supplies carried by the Frost Giants are not only unshared with these slaves, but these slaves also often need to offer their hard-earned hunted food to the Frost Giants to appease these savage giant species.

Even the most powerful White Dragon Tribe under the Frost Giants is no exception. Those White Dragons who attempted to resist have long had their flesh and blood merged with the Frost Giants, and their hardened bones have become the bone hammers and big sticks in the hands of the Frost Giants.

Even ”Ice Prison” Sakles is the second most powerful being in the Frost Giant Tribe, next only to the Frost Giant King, whose name even Sakles doesn’t know.

In fact, this region is located at the juncture of the Frosty Plains and the Great Grassland.

The wonders of the world are unmistakably revealed on the dividing line between the white snow and the green grass.

Life is scarce on the snow-covered wasteland, while the grassland, covered with greenery, is several times more teeming with life than this dry and cold region.

In the fields of vision of these soaring White Dragons, they can even see in the distance countless beasts roaming the grassland, with countless robust wild cattle and sheep running, but it is only the Frost Giants who are allowed to hunt there, not these enslaved tribes.

Initially, it was not so difficult. The Frost Giant Tribe had integrated the power of the Extreme Frozen Frost Plains and attempted to invade southwards, occupying grassland water and soil along the way. No monster tribe could withstand the military might of these Frost Giants.

At that time, the tribes freely hunted on the grassland, enjoying an unprecedented prosperous life, and even these White Dragons could revel in playing with their prey before filling their bellies.

Until the frontal legion of the Frost Giants encountered the patrol legion of the Golden Empire and ’Deep Red Roar’ Kaidelos.

Not only were the warriors of the other tribes slaughtered by the legions of the Golden Empire, but even those Frost Giant Warriors commanding the frontal legion were entirely captured and enslaved.

Reportedly, some bold merchants, daring enough to venture across thousands of miles to reach the Frost Wasteland, tell that those Frost Giants captured by the Golden Empire are still slaves building cities that appear as wonders to the mortal world.

The difference is as vast as heaven and earth.

Moreover, the typically fierce Frost Giant King surprisingly, after this probe, decisively withdrew his troops, leaving outsiders baffled and even the many tribes ruled by the Frost Giants unable to understand.

It must be known that after unifying all the Frost Giant Tribes and defeating ’Ice Prison’ Sakles, the other overlord of the Frost Plain, the Frost Giant King had successfully risen above mortal things, becoming a force wielding legendary power.

How could a small failure repel the will of such a powerful being?

”You don’t understand, nor do I,” ’Ice Prison’ Sakles said, licking his fangs after a full meal, squinting his ice-like vertical pupils, and gazing into the distance.

On the endless horizon, a dense tapestry of beast-hide camps filled the line of sight of a Giant Dragon, with countless Northern Tribes warriors milling about within.

Snowmen, ogres, half-beastmen, Frost Giants, and other tribes gathered the power of the Frozen Icefield here, an army of eighty thousand, arranged in succession, yet neither advancing nor retreating.

It was precisely this incomprehensible style that led the White Dragon Sloraka and White Dragon Roni, who once defected from the Frost Plain Dragon Group, to lead the legion warriors of the Golden Empire in a relentless pursuit.

In the end, merely relying on three thousand Imperial legion warriors and several thousand auxiliary troops, they openly established tall outposts on the hilly streams tens of miles across from the Frost Giant encampment, engaging them in a standoff.

”Sloraka, that hybrid, was just a coward who defected from the Dragon Group, of despicable blood, and now he dares to openly appear before us, flaunting his might. I just want to tear him apart,”

snarled a fierce White Dragon with a deep scar across its cheek, baring sharp teeth.

”With the leader’s power, he could easily crush that hybrid. How can the Frost Giant King tolerate being mocked by such a weak hybrid,”

said another young White Dragon. These White Dragons each had their reasons and stance for disdain towards White Dragon Sloraka, fleeing in fear of war was a disgrace to dragons, especially as White Dragon Sloraka dared to act so grandly, making these enslaved captive dragons fume with resentment.

”Who can know what the Frost Giant King is thinking,” Sakles said calmly, talking about the Frost Giant King, the complexity reflected in his ice-like pupils.

No one knows the name of the Frost Giant King, not even the White Dragons who have long been his enemies.

Sakles only knows that before the Frost Giant King’s rise, he was ridiculed and scorned by many Frost Giant Tribes, referred to as the hybrid, the remnant of the White Frost Tribe.

Life in the extreme northern Frozen Wasteland is exceedingly harsh, and even among the Frost Giant Race, tribes wage war for survival resources.

In regions teeming with life and species diversity, a tiger requires a minimum hunting territory of at least ten square kilometers.

If species and life are scarce, a tiger requires at least a hundred square kilometers of hunting territory to meet its needs for survival.

Even so, these beasts need to forage for berries and insects to supplement their consumption as much as possible.

For ordinary beasts, this is the case, but how much more so for Frost Giants who are many times stronger and consume many times more than tigers.

These Frost Giant tribes, with a few individuals forming a group, engage in raids against each other’s tribes to secure larger hunting territories.

Under such harsh conditions, the best fate for a defeated tribe of adult Frost Giants is to become slaves, often hunted and fought with tools, without enough food supplement, ultimately starving to death.

The worst fate is the complete slaughter of adult Frost Giants, leaving only female Frost Giants as breeding tools for their tribe.

The Frost Giant King hails from the White Frost Tribe, which was exterminated by other Frost Giant Tribes, his kin slaughtered, leaving only him to escape death successfully.

Nobody knows how the Frost Giant King survived from youth alone in the barren and perilous Frozen Icefield, perhaps digging into iron-hard ice soil to live on bark, grass roots, and ice mites.

Maybe scavenging other creatures’ remains, but the Frost Giant King survived.

The first time the Frost Giant King made a name for himself was when he single-handedly defeated the Ice Wind Tribal Leader responsible for the massacre of the White Frost Tribe.

However, unlike other Frost Giants, the Frost Giant King did not kill the Ice Wind Tribe leader, which promptly earned him the tribe’s submission and allegiance.

From then on, the Frost Giant King started to rise step by step.

He led the Ice Wind Tribe, conquering in all directions, integrating all Frost Giant Tribes, eventually confronting the White Dragon Tribe, finally defeating the extraordinarily talented ’Ice Prison’ Sakles, claiming the throne of the Icefield King.

Though Frost Giants have been mortal enemies with White Dragons for generations, after defeating Sakles, he did not enslave the dragons entirely, instead treating the White Dragons as another tribe loyal to the Frost Giants.

However, the other Frost Giants did not share the king’s vision, instead treating the other tribes entirely as slaves. Even the Frost Giant King could not change this racial mindset.

”Perhaps those powerful enough to reach the top always leave others guessing about what they’re thinking because they see further than others,”

Sakles murmured, looking toward the giant Dragon King’s banner standing tall in the distance, equally unable to comprehend how that Red Dragon achieved such feats.
