Beneath the Red Dragon

Casters only need to use a large amount of water to eradicate these colossal creatures hidden at least hundreds of meters underground.

But the larvae of sandworms, sand trout, require a vast amount of moisture to grow, which is the reason for the planet’s desertification.

This magical transformation surprised Karon.

The Ancestral Red Dragon’s dark golden pupils gleamed. Through the information carried by the sky and the earth, he could feel the reverence and faith of the Fremen towards the desert. The belief brought by the mystical creatures, sandworms, was proof of the Fremen’s awe of nature and mighty power.

He also sensed the longing and pursuit of water and forest by the Fremen, amidst the god-making rhetoric spread by the Sisterhood.

The ultimate Savior, the Messiah, will descend from beyond the skies, bringing abundant water and green plants to the Fremen, transforming this desert planet into a paradise where the Fremen can walk and live.

The Leo Empire certainly has the capability to transform such a planet, but for the spice, they gave up on this idea.

Even if the civilization of the Leo Empire wanted to transform the planet, it would be a long-lasting endeavor.

However, the Ancestral Red Dragon can rapidly manifest such miracles, but his intention is not to be the Fremen’s Savior; he wishes to be the god of the Fremen’s Savior.

”Here, right here,” Karon halted, scanning in all directions, then began pounding the sand with his steel-like claws.

The soft sand under the Ancestral Red Dragon’s feet was like a drum of the earth, vibrating with intense frequencies and waves under the Red Dragon’s pounding.

This wave was akin to provoking sandworms, yet similar to their mating call, it traveled along the earth’s veins, spreading widely, reaching hundreds, thousands of miles.

Then Karon paused, standing and waiting.

Perhaps after a quarter of an hour, perhaps half an hour, beneath the sandy earth, from all directions came the sound of rustling sand and a whistling roar.

Massive sandworms converged from all sides, bringing with them lightning-filled magnetic fields and sand storms, parting the golden sands of the desert, surging forward.

Gigantic sandworms arrived at the source of the vibrating frequency, opening multiple membranes, revealing giant mouths and sharp, menacing teeth, emitting a hollow echoing sound.

Six enormous sandworms, like columns supporting the sky, emerged into mid-air, the smallest revealing a body already a hundred meters in length, with an additional eighty meters hidden beneath the sand in Karon’s perception.

The largest sandworm, its body so massive, the orange-red scales appeared as ancient rock layers, with its full length reaching four hundred eighty meters.

The dark, profound esophagus was akin to the entrance of the Endless Abyss, instilling fear.

The Ancestral Red Dragon, whose dragon body was exceptionally robust among giant dragons, seemed so insignificant before these beings, their giant mouths capable of swallowing the entire Ancestral Red Dragon in one gulp.

Yet these colossal creatures half-supported themselves in the air, as the Ancestral Red Dragon’s spiritual frequency matched that of the sandworms, enabling these unintelligent beings to understand the Ancestral Red Dragon’s speech.

”I am building paradise, lacking caretakers, lacking willing workers,”

The Ancestral Red Dragon raised his head, the Dragon Language carried vibrations of matching frequency, teaching these beings without wisdom the ability to understand language.

”If you follow me, I can teach you to break free from the beastly nature of ignorance; if you follow me, I can teach you the brilliance of wisdom,”

”You are their eternal ancestors, Holy Xia Hulu, and should also be my eternal servants, emissaries of brilliance.”

The giant sandworms tilted their heads as if contemplating, slowly closing their mouths, their heads forming cone shapes, with their closed front points resembling tiny eyes.

”Gurgle,”

One sandworm seemed to reject the Ancestral Red Dragon’s will, reopening its mouth, producing strange, hollow gurgling sounds.

But before this sandworm could attack the Ancestral Red Dragon, the largest sandworm, measuring four hundred eighty meters, suddenly surged out of the ground, opening its gigantic mouth to bite the dissenting sandworm.

The other sandworms simultaneously attacked the sandworm opposing the Red Dragon’s will. The menacing sharp teeth, like grinders and crushers, instantly sliced the opposing sandworm into countless pieces, subsequently consumed by the remaining five sandworms.

”Gurgle,”

The largest sandworm closed its membranes, issuing a muffled sound, lowering its colossal head to the sand surface, bowing before the Ancestral Red Dragon.

The other sandworms also lowered their heads to the sand, releasing muffled gurgling sounds.

”Since you are my eternal servants, you naturally can escape the fate of water poisoning,” the Ancestral Red Dragon spread his sharp claws, and countless magic runes, like flowing ribbons, engraved themselves onto the colossal heads of these sandworms.

While granting these sandworms other powers like magic is difficult, granting them water-repelling abilities is exceedingly simple to the Red Dragon.

Hundreds of magic runes etched a grand magic array on the sandworm’s heads, a magic array not driven by magic power but by the energy produced by the sandworms during their existence and activity, which Karon instantly calculated.

”Go, my paradise’s construction requires your efforts.” Karon engraves the last magic array, pats the enormous sandworm’s head, and speaks casually.

Rumbling,

The massive sandworms re-enter the desert, using their innate abilities, vibrating the sand, in the center of the plain, drilling and swirling, opening a massive channel directly to water-storing rock layers hundreds of kilometers underground.

The earth rolled, sand flew, yet the vast channel was not refilled by flowing sand, because the will of the earth’s master was thus.

About two hours passed, and a jet of water surged from the massive channel boring through the sandworm, like a fountain, sprinkling over the arid desert.

Fafnir stepped forward, dropping seeds in the gradually moist soil, planting plants one by one.

These were columnar cactuses, white-thorned porcupine grasses, desert sagebrush, fragrant shrubs, and shepherd trees, the few plants the Fremen planted in the desert that could survive.

Water flowed over, plants rooted, magic power surged, green sprouted.

”The paradise has descended. When will my Messiah Warriors arrive?”

Karon stood atop a barren hill, speaking softly.
