Beneath the Red Dragon

However, the Emperor of the Leo Empire, fearing the Atreides Clan’s claim to imperial succession and their formidable strength, reassigned the House Atreides to the EraCos Planet.

This move allowed the Harkonnen Clan, who had originally gained huge profits from controlling the spice production regions, to conspire with the Emperor. The Emperor dispatched the Sakado Corps to join forces with the Harkonnen Clan to annihilate the Atreides power relocated to the EraCos Planet.

Now, the EraCos Planet has returned under the rule of the Harkonnen Clan.

Laban, a senior commander of the Harkonnen Clan Legion, was accidentally captured by the Giant Dragon’s Mage Legion on his way back to the base, revealing these apparent facts.

But Karon knew from the depths of his memories that the Atreides Clan, wiped out, did not include Paul Atreides, the sole heir of Duke Atreides, nor his mother Lady Jessica.

A fleeting glimpse of a scene combined with Laban’s recollection allowed Karon to confirm that Paul and Lady Jessica, abandoned in the desert by Harkonnen warriors to be swallowed by sandworms, had likely escaped into the desert center, seeking help from the local natives, the Fremen.

He could not rely on his own abilities to deduce this, for he had yet to intersect with these two survivors, and had no information to form a basis for deductions.

His understanding of this world came from past life memories and current information, which paled in comparison to the vast and real cosmos.

Yet Karon’s powerful intuition told this Red Dragon that perhaps meeting that special son of an era, the focal point where various forces converge, and the web of past and future stretching to the present—Paul Atreides.

He could then follow the clues and use the intersecting information to find clues about leaving this world and heading to the World of Ice and Fire.

Thus, Karon took his maid, traveled across the desert towards the direction where the native Fremen might exist.

For the Red Dragon, it was more like a challenge of a journey. He used no power, relying on his brain’s analytical ability to explore the gathering points of the Fred People through a series of clues.

The water molecule concentration hidden in the air and traces of occasional activities in secluded corners were all caught by Karon’s eyes.

Occasionally, he and Fafnir could also see tiny flashes of lightning blooming above the sand, indications of friction effects caused by sandworms passing beneath the desert.

However, after tasting the sandworms, Karon no longer intended to hunt these precious spice producers. The sandworms had become a constant fountain of wealth in the eyes of the Giant Dragon.

As the sunset sank, two moons began to emerge on the horizon, one large, the other small.

Yet in front of Karon came a turbulent sandstorm, a storm with wind speeds of hundreds of kilometers sweeping worn sands under the dim night like shadows devouring everything.

Karon, however, did not dodge the smaller storm with Fafnir.

The Ancestral Red Dragon opened his claws, and a brilliant surge of magic power formed a turning seed-shaped brilliance at his claw tip.

He controlled 68,960 Magic Runes, which moved like a dazzling ribbon—the fragmented runes flowed and flickered on the seed surface, instantly aligning into spell models.

Dozens of spells were immediately released with the models, enhancing Fafnir, who quietly followed alongside.

Steel Bones, Qi Enhancement and Growth, Giant Dragon Scale Skill, Magic Shield, Earth Wall Barrier, and other spells enveloped Fafnir tightly, enough to easily withstand the bombardment of a Magic-Driven Heavy Cannon.

Previously, the magic problems that troubled the Ancestral Red Dragon were solved after the successful evolution drew on spice resources. Now Karon, with a flick of his claw or a thought, could release dozens of Mid and Low-tier Skills, enough to be called a flow of magic spells.

Fafnir smiled knowingly; a master and servant, long accustomed, needed no more words. Then one dragon and one person stepped directly into the sandstorm.

True gale was a force of destruction that even human-made devastations paled in comparison to.

These sands, large or small, swept by the storm with amazing kinetic energy, struck every exposed object in sight, and between heaven and earth, only the furious sands remained.

This wasn’t an instantaneous impact; any object exposed to the crazily swirling sands would encounter continuous impacts.

Even alloy spaceships capable of treading the interstellar universe would be ground bit by bit by the sustained impact of the furious sands, turning into fragments finer than sand.

If a fully grown Giant Dragon were caught in the storm, its scales might hold for a brief moment, but ultimately it would be ground through its scale armor by the storm, forcing it to flee the area.

But as Karon’s body stepped in, he slightly tilted his wing to shield Fafnir beneath it, allowing this force, capable of destroying all things in the mortal world, to impact on his body.

Countless grains of sand, with astonishing kinetic energy, scoured the Ancestral Red Dragon’s Scale Armor, producing a chain of sparks like a sand’s wheel cutting through steel, grinding against Karon’s Scale, making a teeth-gritting scratch sound.

Threads of lightning wrapped around the Red Dragon’s wings and body. It was a storm’s electric field caused by the swirling sands, grinding against the Red Dragon’s body.
