Beneath the Red Dragon

Storm Giant Garcia responded amicably to the Dragon-blood Angels, then led his kin into the majestic great hall.

The vastness and luxury of the hall did not capture the attention of these Storm Giants; their eyes were seized by those solemn and alien pupils, unable to look away.

And those cold and ferocious giant dark-golden eyes in the center made these Storm Giants feel as if their bodies should bow and bend before them.

Until that unique Dragon spoke, did this strange feeling disappear from the hearts of the Storm Giants.

”Although we meet again under such circumstances, I am still very happy to see the friends of the former Dragon Group!”

Karon restrained the ever-growing Power of the Mind, the radiance from his eyes was not intentional.

Storm Giant Garcia pursed his lips, then the fourteen-meter-tall giant realized he was rudely looking down upon the Dragon Group.

So this giant stepped aside, bent slightly, recalling the teachings of his grandfather that he did not take seriously before, then solemnly said, ”Good evening, powerful and noble Emperor, although my heart is filled with grief and anger, I am still very glad to see you!”

Karon stepped, his strong body approached the Storm Giant, showing no inferiority, even though a standing Dragon was far shorter than the fourteen-meter Storm Giant, in this meeting, the Storm Giant seemed particularly weak.

Karon said gently, ”No need to be so courteous, Dragons do not have those excessive formalities, the Storm Giant Tribe is also a friend of the Dragon Group. I heard about the incidents in the Storm Giant Tribe, yet I am uncertain about my friend I once spoke with, your leader Mid. Where is he now?”

”If the Empire’s assistance is needed, naturally, I will not ignore my friends!”

Upon hearing the Red Dragon’s inquiry, the previously quiet Storm Giants immediately let out cries of grief and rage, the blood vessels in Giant Garcia’s eyes surged, blood filled his pupils, grief and rage uncontrolled.

”Thank you for your kindness, benevolent and noble Emperor, but our leader, my grandfather Mid, he is already dead,”

Garcia suddenly knelt to the ground, his head lowered, like a collapsing golden mountain and jade pillar, causing the solid great hall to echo with a muffled thud. The giant clenched his fist tightly, his bulging muscles were like thick vines entwining, the bones of his fingers crackling.

”He blocked Mogyes’ pursuers for us young ones, clashing with them. But he did not die at the hands of One-Eyed Giant Asis, he was killed by the High Priest of those Cloud Giants who frequently harassed the tribe!”

Karon looked at Garcia’s inconsolable grief, and couldn’t help but sigh.

When he once led the Dragon Group to visit the Storm Giant Tribe and accepted the Storm Giants’ benevolent protection, it was this young giant who sat by, roasting ocean whales and sharks for him. Yet unexpectedly, their circumstances had taken drastically different paths on this reunion.

”In my Empire, those short-lived species have gone through a generation’s change, the kobolds and goblins have even changed several generations,”

”But I never thought, as long-lived species, the giants, my former old friend, has also embarked on the path of life’s end, old friends have withered in the storm.”

The cold face of Karon could not help but show some emotion; he did not fear death, but felt somewhat desolate at the fall of Storm Giant Mid.

The Red Dragon extended his claw, patting the giant, whose kneeling form was still towering, on the shoulder, sighing, ”The deceased is gone, but the living must endure the trials of this Mortal World,”

”Although the Realm of the Dragons cannot be said to be boundless, it can accommodate many races to live and breed. If you Storm Giants are willing, you can also join the Empire. Any storms, the Empire’s firmament will naturally shield you from!”

Although in his youth, Karon had attempted to establish good relations with the Storm Giants, hoping to recruit these giants. But now the strength of the Dragon Group is not what it once was, even if these Storm Giants are unwilling to settle in the Empire, he would not force them to stay.

The warrior tribe of the Storm Giant, no matter how strong, could not withstand the even mightier and loyal Legion Warriors who served the Dragon Group.

Wild giants could not withstand the rolling over of the Imperial Legion’s grand army, this is the triumph of civilization.

”No, Your Highness Gogomola,”

Storm Giant Garcia raised his head, his gaze full of unprecedented determination, and the giant’s deep voice sounded.

”Joining Your Highness’ realm is indeed the fortune of the Storm Giants, but I, Garcia, as the Young Master of the Storm Giant Tribe, request you,”

”Let Storm Giants serve as your servants for generations, hoping your power blesses us Storm Giants, so that we Storm Giants may have the opportunity to clear the blood feud of deceased elders in the future!”

Karon hesitated rarely, not because of any other thoughts, but because even though the Storm Giants were formidable, they were less adept at serving Dragons than even the maids were.

Moreover, aside from the White Dragon, who often wrestled with Frost Giants in the snowy fields, the rest of the True Dragons, except for specific bloodlines and individuals, are appropriately matched against the highest existence of the Giants—Titans.

So Karon did not particularly value the strength of the Storm Giant Tribe, on the contrary, taking in these Storm Giants would require tilting the Empire’s resources in some areas toward them.

If Storm Giants were just one of the myriad races within the Empire, the Red Dragon would not hesitate.

But Giant Garcia saw the Red Dragon’s hesitation, and for these Storm Giants, the power and bloodline of the Ancestral Red Dragon were enough to earn their wholehearted conviction.

The Storm Giants, with prolonged influence, would eventually gain the cover and augmentation of the Red Dragon’s bloodline power and resource tilt, allowing them to restore vitality quicker.

Therefore, Garcia tore open his beast hide garment, revealing his upper body scarred all over.

The giant’s hand scratched at the edge of a new reddish scar on his chest, then ten fingers plunged deeply into the wound, tearing open the blood and flesh of his chest and abdomen directly.

A flood of giant blood gushed out, yet Garcia just furrowed his brows.

The giant’s vigorously beating heart was completely exposed in front of the Red Dragon at this moment, but the Ancestral Red Dragon was attracted to something else, his dragon instinct told him it was an item above Legendary quality.

Garcia pulled out a simple crown from his chest and abdomen, lifted it with both hands, bowed his head, and resisting the pain, said in a deep voice: ”With this Crown of the Storm Titan, as proof of the Storm Giants’ allegiance to the Dragon, also as a testimony of the Dragons’ servantry and our loyalty to the Dragon Lord!”
