Beneath the Red Dragon

White Dragon Gomot glanced at the Green Dragon Antajena, who had turned her head away, having already obtained his own conclusion. This White Dragon is quite sizable now; he is the third to awaken and revive the bloodline of the previous generation of Giant Dragons, following Karon and Kleyna.

The occasional battle scars on his scales indicate that this White Dragon has experienced nearly as many battles as Kleyna.

His eleven-meter-long body is covered in dragon scales like ice crystal snowflakes, with the chill emanating between the scale armor, making the entire White Dragon resemble a walking glacier dragon.

”If something happens to you, Karon, does the territory still need protection? I’m afraid the Dragon Group would immediately fall into disarray. No one could reassemble the Dragon Group, and do you think they would truly acknowledge my leadership?”

White Dragon Gomot, with a hint of warning, felt that the Red Dragon should not personally take risks in many situations.

”Kleyna? Or Antajena? Or Alina?” The White Dragon named them one by one, but no Giant Dragon responded with more than a big eye roll.

Giant Dragons are all untamed creatures; until White Dragon Gomot has the strength to suppress all Giant Dragons, even if Gomot is favored by the Dragon God, these Giant Dragons won’t consider Gomot as a leader.

”Just relying on us isn’t enough to protect the territory, Karon. Do you think we don’t know why those Mages cooperate with us? If we lose you, those Mages would likely be the first to divide the fruits of our territory.”

White Dragon Gomot wore a slightly complaining face, a bit naggy, and finally showed off his style of scolding, a favorite since dragonling days, ”Damn, Karon, you said we are a whole, a family. In the face of certain dangers, stop expecting a single dragon to face it alone.”

”We are still relatively weak, but we are all working hard. Do you think Kleyna sleeps all day? This female dragon wakes up every day and runs to the prairie, challenging that powerful Beastman Lord,”

”Akhzi and Doss also frequently head to the sea to fight with that Sea-dwelling Dragon. Every Giant Dragon is clustering around you in their own way. Do you think dragons enjoy governing territories? Damn, Karon, letting Five-Color Dragons govern the territory, why don’t you let those hammer-loving Dwarves embroider?”

White Dragon Gomot complained noisily; if it were another dragon leading the Dragon Group, he definitely wouldn’t act like this, but all the Giant Dragons within the Dragon Group know what kind of dragon Karon is. Karon represents a double standard for both internal and external affairs of the Dragon Group.

Only the newly joined Red Copper Dragon Alfred and Bronze Dragon Alina looked a bit shell-shocked, fearing that the White Dragon Gomot might be torn apart by the enraged Red Dragon in the next moment.

Despite their impression that Karon’s attitude and character are completely different from ordinary Red Dragons, as the leader of the Dragon Group, most people would blindly protect their own authority.

Sadly, for Karon, he doesn’t need to do so at all. His existence is authority.

He is never afraid of challenges and grants all dragons in the Dragon Group the right to challenge him, but after personally witnessing Blue Dragon Akzhi being brutally beaten, no dragon would entertain such thoughts again.

Karon stretched his wings lazily, yawned comfortably, and said with a smile, ”This time it’s a misunderstanding; I haven’t fallen into external danger—the danger comes from myself alone.”

”Moreover, I might encounter many dangers in the future, which I can sense after gaining insight into my own mind,” Karon laughed, ”This is not my choice; my choice is to face difficulties head-on. You don’t need to worry about it.”

Karon is well aware of the importance of his presence in maintaining the Dragon Group, but he must face some unpredictable dangers, especially after experiencing this glimpse of destiny.

Progressing step by step would only put him deeper into the trap of destiny’s hand; perhaps this idea is hard for the Dragon Group to accept, but if Karon were to die, he wouldn’t care about the feelings of the Dragon Group or the existence of the Dragon Group Territory.

After my death, who cares if floods sweep the world.

The Giant Dragons were somewhat confused by Karon’s words, but Karon wasn’t going to explain them.

Only White Dragon Camid remained thoughtful. Yes, Camid is just like during dragonling days, fond of being pensive.

Bronze Dragon Alina saw that White Dragon Gomot was not angered by Karon, so she boldly stepped forward, stretching her slender neck to ask, ”Karon, if you know it’s dangerous, why take the risk to conquer this plane and bring slaughter to these beings?”

The Bronze Dragon’s inherent kindness made her worry about the Dragon Group’s excessive slaughter, fearing they might gradually become like other Five-Color Dragons, losing rationality and reason.

”If it were before, I would tell you, Alina, I came for the population and other resources of this plane,” Karon was no longer lazy.

He said earnestly, ”But now, I must tell you, Alina, there are only hunter and prey in the world. You’re either a hunter or prey.”

”And I, Karon Gogomola, am a Giant Dragon; I am naturally meant to be a hunter. My nature tells me, either be a hunter or be prey!”

Karon extended his broad wings and showed his fierce fangs, laughing, ”Let’s go, it’s time to harvest the last assets of this world, every dragon in the Dragon Group, shares for all dragons!”
