Beneath the Red Dragon

Each of the Jackal Wolfman Warriors, clad like iron cans, held a sharp shotgun. Though in the forest, the shotgun seemed a bit long, it was the quickest weapon that could be crafted within the Dragon Group Territory, requiring only a simple flat gunhead and a tough wooden shaft.

These Jackal Wolfmen also had several short javelins made of ironwood hanging from their waists, while their right hands gripped a wooden tower shield half their height.

With such comprehensive protection, they could only be dealt with by close-range volleys of crossbow bolts or massive magical bombardments, to handle these seasoned Jackal Wolfman Barbarian Soldiers.

Yet standing behind these seasoned Jackal Wolfman Barbarian Soldiers were several Middle-High Tier Mages and Jackal Wolfman Mages, who were not to be taken lightly.

If it weren’t necessary to have many mages maintain the operation of the Plane Teleportation Gate, there would have been even more casters entering the Greenfield Forest together.

Then there were hundreds of Dogman Soldiers carrying subsequent food supplies and baggage. Although these Dogmen also carried weapons, Karon did not rely on the combat strength of the Dogmen for this trip.

The role of these Dogmen was to guard and maintain the outpost base where the Plane Teleportation Gate was located within the Greenfield Forest Plane.

Along with the early explorations, after the lives of more than ten Dogman Beloveds had been used for probing, the mages finally pinpointed the exact location of the Plane Teleportation Gate, choosing a place devoid of human inhabitants.

Karon’s massive form descended from the sky, then transformed into the Dragon Descendant form.

Although the target plane for this exploration was not high in power limits, Karon’s massive form could easily become a focused target, so before personally verifying the situation in the Other Plane, Karon chose to act discreetly.

Upon seeing the figure of the Red Dragon, the Dragon’s Beloveds saluted in unison, shouting excitedly, ”My King!”

Karon nodded and approached, meeting with the Squinting Mage Hughes and others.

”Karon,” the Squinting Mage Hughes spoke up, inquiring about the Red Dragon’s opinion. Although this exploration was proposed by the mages, the leadership fell to the Red Dragon.

”Let’s set off, I also wish to experience the charm of the Other Plane,” Karon responded.

The mages infused their Magic Power into the array of the Plane Teleportation Gate, lighting up the Magic Crystals, each as large as an adult’s fist, within the large array. A towering teleportation gate slowly rose before everyone.

Leading the charge was the Jackal Wolfman Yougu, who guided the Jackal Wolfman Barbarian Soldiers with tower shields into the Plane Teleportation Gate. Squad after squad of fully armored warriors stepped into the Plane Teleportation Gate.

Then followed by hundreds of Dogman Auxiliaries carrying supplies and Jackal Wolfman Mages, lastly followed by Karon and Hughes among the eight mages.

As Karon passed through the Plane Teleportation Gate, he felt a brief stagnation and blankness in his consciousness. However, subconsciously he activated his Heart Energy, wrapping his Soul and consciousness.

In the next instant, his consciousness, seemingly frozen in time and space, resumed normal functioning and gradually became active once more.

Yet, before Karon’s eyes, there was nothing but endless spatial distortions, a curtain woven of chaotic beams and temporal-spatial curves, his perception unable to extend outward, rendering him like a bird trapped in a dark cage.

Karon wasn’t sure how much time had passed, it felt like only a few seconds or perhaps several days. In this warped perception of time, he seemed to have crossed an immeasurable distance in space.

When Karon finally regained his normal sensations and perception, instead of chaotic dazzling curtains, he saw blue skies, white clouds, and lush greenery.

The forest was especially quiet, as if an invisible sound barrier had muffled all sounds from the outside world.

However, a moist and gentle breeze brushed against him, prompting Karon to realize that a new world had unfurled its mysterious veil before him.
