Beneath the Red Dragon

”What are you afraid of? Everyone knows the Dragon is incredibly greedy. When we return, I’ll just say I spent tens of thousands of Gold Coins to get the chance to meet the Giant Dragon,” Beastman Fati impatiently pulled out a heavy purse from the middle-aged Foxman’s arms and slammed it onto the counter.

At that moment, his expression was spirited, and Fati shouted loudly, ”Give me a hundred packs first, I feel my luck coming!”

...

The sky gradually dimmed, and the night once again enveloped the boundless forest.

The Jackal Wolfman Warriors stopped their actions of chopping down the forest. Leisurely, they dragged the lumber back to the clearing in front of the place, under the Blood-colored Sanctuary that emitted endless light, and began to set up camp for tonight’s rest.

Under the glow of this Blood-colored Sanctuary, the will of the forest to suppress outsiders was dispelled, unable to affect these warriors.

The entire forest, connected by those Trees of Life, had already generated a will suppression against outsider creatures. Initially, Jackal Wolfman Yougu tested it. Once you venture too deeply into the forest, this forest’s will would suppress their Souls.

Making these Jackal Wolfman Warriors’ consciousness dull, their vision become blurred. Some of the weaker Dogman Warriors couldn’t even maintain physical balance.

They would even become muddled under the influence of the forest’s will, unconsciously leaving the team and wandering into the forest.

Fortunately, the Blood-colored Sanctuary could easily dispel and suppress the forest’s will within a certain range, and these Dragon’s Beloved Warriors, under the inspiration of the Blood-colored Sanctuary, were fearless in battle.

Even if they died, their Souls would not disappear; they had somewhere to belong.

From the Blood-colored Sanctuary, where the Jackal Wolfman Commander’s soul no longer sang but constantly roared as if wanting to rush down and kill the Elves, it was evident how the battle blood of these Jackal Wolfmen flowed fiercely.

Unfortunately, after Karon’s return, those Elves launched a tentative attack, only to be wiped out by the angry Red Dragon and the coordinated efforts of the warriors and Mages. The War Tree-men were dug up.

The skeletons and skulls were sacrifices for the Souls of the Blood-colored Sanctuary, making the Blood-colored Sanctuary floating over the camp even bigger.

Those Elves, on the other hand, ceased their banners, daring not to launch attacks openly, occasionally shooting Poison Arrows from deep within the jungle to harass these warriors.

However, after rebuilding the Plane Teleportation Gate and receiving support and supplies, the warriors were unafraid of such consumption. They set out with high morale and determination to kill, marching towards the Elf Tribe.

After flattening the first Elf Tribe, the Elf Tribes actually risked severely damaging the Tree of Life energy by moving the entire Tribe and the Tree of Life deeper into the forest, as if engaging in guerrilla warfare against the Giant Dragon.

If it weren’t for the usual cautious style, the Red Dragon would have wanted to pursue them all the way and slaughter those Elf Tribes.

Even though it was currently in a kind of tug-of-war, the Red Dragon still held back. These Tribes could keep migrating, but the Tree of Life couldn’t migrate forever. One day, they would have to stop and face the Giant Dragon.

With a swoosh, Karon flew in from the distant sky, then folded his wings and landed in the camp.

Lately, Karon had been taking advantage of his flexibility to constantly trail those Elf Tribes he luckily encountered during their migration. Whenever he found an opportunity, he would swoop down and spit Dragon Fire, burning these Elves to ashes.

Then he would strike and retreat, never risking for the sake of more damage. The opponent may engage in guerrilla tactics, but Karon as a Giant Dragon held a more apparent advantage.

The Trees of Life and forest’s will could not suppress the Red Dragon’s Soul, nor would his strength be affected. This was merely a careful preventive measure.

Under the continuous harassment by the Red Dragon, two Elf Tribes could no longer endure it and proposed surrender to the Red Dragon.

But the Red Dragon’s requirement was to kill all the Elves who had participated in the attacks on the camp. The other Elves could remain unharmed, leaving these two Elf Tribes embroiled in a dispute.

Those Elves who decided to attack held power within the Tribe, making it impossible to achieve the requirement to kill themselves.

But some Elves who hadn’t participated began having other thoughts, believing their Tribe shouldn’t be destroyed due to these Elves.

The Elf Tribes started falling into a division and internal conflict.

Karon’s presence caused many Dragon’s Beloved to stand up and salute the Giant Dragon. These warriors have now become devout believers of the Giant Dragon, and Karon can even sense the Power of Faith being born among these warriors and converging on him.

Especially the loyal Souls in the Blood-colored Sanctuary, providing Power of Faith to Karon that could be described as steadfast.

Now a considerable amount of Power of Faith has gathered beside Karon’s Heart Energy Vortex, but before understanding them, he still keeps these Power of Faith sealed within the Heart Energy’s wrapping.

Karon entered the camp, and now this team would cut down the forest vigorously wherever they passed, establishing camps, both to weaken the will of the forest and as future link footholds for managing the Plane.

Karon walked to a large temporary wooden house and pushed open the door.

This was a bloody and dark scene for ordinary people.

Dozens of Mages and Alchemists were busy here, with rows of cages serving as their experimental materials.

Inside were Elves, Beasts, and some Extraordinary Magical Beasts that had developed intelligence.

A Male Elf was tightly bound, lying in front of a long table, his body’s structure being cut open by a Mage with Magic Tools, constantly studying these Native Elves’ bodies and bloodlines.

On the other side, there were some Magic Alchemy Instruments even Karon couldn’t recognize, with various colors of blood rolling and boiling in the instrument containers.

A Mage was continually releasing Magic to test these blood’s characteristics, while an Apprentice assistant was holding a small notebook to record at any time.

Karon passed by each scene with a composed expression and came in front of the Squinting Mage.

The Squinting Mage was shaking a long test tube at the moment, inside was a tumbling green liquid emitting a crystal-clear glow.

Upon seeing Karon’s figure, the Squinting Mage revealed a smile and cheerfully said, ”Karon, I successfully experimented using the tree heart of the Tree of Life and some special toxins. This mixed toxin can quickly and effectively kill trees, turning those trees into crystals.”

”Even the Tree of Life, given a large enough dose, can cause serious damage. What’s more, this toxin spreads extremely quickly, able to feed on the unique Life Energy of trees and then spread throughout the entire forest.”

”And if you want to stop the spread of this toxin, you just need high heat, collecting it won’t be too troublesome!”

Karon’s calm demeanor finally showed a bit of joy. He nodded in praise, ”That’s good, Hughes, you Scholar Mages truly have some skills.”
