Beneath the Red Dragon

Karon didn’t have a second to think; he rejected the request of the Giant Demon Fafnir. Even though this giant demon’s talent was quite useful to him. The eyes of the Red Dragon glinted fiercely, and his tone turned somewhat vicious,

”Fafnir, I think the comfortable life these days has made you forget something. Even if that Red Dragon has become my prisoner, only a Giant Dragon can enslave a Giant Dragon.”

”A trapped dragon is not something you can surpass,” Karon said, as his long tail whipped out like a whip, striking the kneeling Fafnir and sending the captivating banshee flying through the air.

Poof,

The Giant Demon Fafnir spat out a mouthful of bluish blood in mid-air and then fell to the ground.

Bam, bam, bam,

Karon’s massive body took steps, walking to stand before the fallen Fafnir, looking down coldly, he said, ”Fafnir, put away your petty thoughts. I have been tolerant enough, allowing others to make mistakes, but if there’s another time, you will only find yourself crushed by me.”

”Go back and think about how to use your abilities to create more value for me. When your contributions are enough, I will not hesitate to reward you.”

Whoosh,

Karon left the stunned Ogre Giant Demon on the spot and spread his broad wings that could cover Fafnir’s entire view, riding the wind straight to the Upper Nine Heavens.

Flying in mid-air, Karon could faintly hear those returning home at dusk, humming the song of the Giant Dragon and some adapted ballads about dragons as they headed back to their homes.

These songs, akin to rural ballads, had begun to spread in the populated areas of the territory, passed down by the minstrels recruited by the Red Copper Dragon Alfred, to the point where even some human children and beloved younglings would occasionally sing a line or two.

Some diligent Pick Elf Agricultural Supervisors, wearing hats woven from wheat spikes and chestnut stalks, were still in the fields urging overly diligent farmers to return to their homes.

Even though this place was only a few dozen miles from the Mountain Dragon Nest, many beasts still roamed at night. While these beasts were merely small creatures and food to the Giant Dragons and their beloved, they posed a lethal threat to ordinary farmers.

As Karon flew over the Golden City, the bell on the tallest bell tower in the city began to chime.

The melodious bell sounded like a timed switch, and instantly lights lit up all over the Golden City.

Amid thousands of household lights, the high-spirited singing of the minstrels occasionally echoed through the city.

From high above the clouds, the Red Dragon witnessed this scene, a sense of accomplishment rising in his heart.

On the docks, numerous large and small ships were berthed at the port, and under the guidance of the watchtower guards on the shore, many vessels were queuing orderly in and out. Even in the evening, the port traffic seemed somewhat hurried.

From above the clouds, Karon glimpsed a large ship bearing the flag of the Beastman Kingdom, with many fox girls, famed for their allure across the human nations’ continent, curiously gazing at this emerging city from the ship.

Numerous leopard-men guarded the ship, and many pigmen served as slaves, surrounding a towering and burly figure with yellowish-brown skin, vaguely resembling a human face but more like a crossbreed between a human and a pig, with several tusks jutting out of its lips, a beastman.

This was the true bloodline of the Ancient Beastmen, and the leopard-men, pig beastmen, and fox girls were said to be the descendants from the mating of Ancient Beastmen with other extraordinary creatures or some magical animals from other races.

Karon saw this and couldn’t help but click his tongue in amazement, feeling that the taste and aesthetics of those Ancient Beastmen seemed to rival those of the Giant Dragon race.

At that moment, many pigmen slaves pulled out a long string of slaves bound by ropes from the ship’s cabin, including beastmen, humans, and some lizardmen and barbarians.

It seems that the fame of the business in the Dragon Group Territory has begun to spread, causing even the Beastman Kingdom from across The Sea to know, and they want to sell slaves to the Dragon Group Territory.

Karon initially intended just to fly by, but among the slaves bound by ropes, a human with messy golden hair caught his attention.

It wasn’t that this human’s appearance was particularly startling. Instead, within Karon’s naturally dispersed perception, the life aura of this human was as tangled as his hair, with over ten different life auras emanating from all over his body.

This human appeared to be about sixty years old, an elderly person by human standards.

Yet in Karon’s eyes, the life force within this human was more abundant than those eighteen or nineteen-year-olds, albeit devoid of the presence of Seed of Power and magic power.

”This human is ordinary yet exhibits extraordinary characteristics,” this thought flashed through Karon’s mind, arousing his curiosity and interest in exploration.

However, many matters didn’t require Karon to handle them personally at the moment, so he put the matter aside, skimmed past the seaport, and after flying several dozen miles out at sea, dove into The Sea.

In accordance with his currently tailored diet plan, Karon’s dinner tonight was the sea fish within The Sea.

Karon’s body traversed through the sea, while the Red Dragon did not favor the aquatic environment, neither did he dislike it. In contrast, Karon quite enjoyed the sensation of swimming in the sea,

His strong body freely navigated the sea without the slightest effort, and although his speed could not match that of Bronze Dragons or Sea Dragons, those used to aquatic habitats, it was still faster than many sea fishes.
