Beneath the Red Dragon

Even the former leader of the Church Knight Order, Faen, after living in the wilderness for so long, considered whether to find a wife in the near future after hearing about these policies rewarding childbirth.

There were other regulations, where the elderly and children would support the corps’ pioneering on the logistics line, including herding chickens, ducks, cattle, sheep, doing laundry, cooking, and receiving supplies.

This reassured Nora, who had been listening intently. She patted her chest and let out a soft sigh of relief. Although her elderly grandmother was not sharp anymore, she felt she could handle the work of two people as long as her grandmother could stay by her side.

Once everything was announced, Bronze Dragon Alina immediately instructed the dogman soldiers to group the crowd into columns and head towards their targets. These dogman soldiers would also become the first generation of guards for the newly built city, responsible for protecting these pioneers.

As the first pioneer corps within the Dragon Group Territory, Alina also received considerable material support. Large, domesticated and tame dragon beasts pulled long trailers loaded with supplies allocated by Giant Demon Fafnir from the warehouses of Golden City.

Most of these were food and tools made for cultivating land. Of course, the carrying capacity of these dragon beasts was impressive; to avoid slowing down the journey, some of the elderly and children could rest and relax on the trailers pulled by dragon beasts.

They followed the paths opened by the Dragon’s Beloved, stopping and going for nearly ten days before reaching the place specially chosen by Bronze Dragon Alina for the new city.

This was because the convoy was too large, with young and old, slowing down their progress. Furthermore, Alina took this opportunity to register everyone’s identity for better management.

Along the way, they passed several small villages established by Free People. These villages consisted of voluntary settlers and previously recruited pioneer immigrants.

Through the hard work of these people, patches of wasteland were developed, and life along the river began. Now, the developed lands were already full of various crops, lush and green.

Villages had also opened vegetable fields, with a dazzling array of vegetables. Some gourd vines and melons even climbed onto the wooden houses in the villages, presenting a bucolic, peaceful, and harmonious scene.

On the opposite side, lands developed by the Dragon’s Beloved saw some kobolds and jackal-wolf men cohabiting. Occasionally, human children arranged to meet with these creatures’ offspring, then paddled small boats to gather at the riverbank to fish in the shallow waters.

It didn’t take long for the adults on both sides to discover them, but their reactions were quite different.

Human parents reprimanded their children to be cautious and avoid danger. Although the river had been cleared, there could still be threats lurking.

Meanwhile, jackal-wolf men and kobolds laughed heartily, teasing whose offspring was too weak, being flipped over by a fish’s tail in the water.

Bronze Dragon Alina pointed to these villages and addressed the crowd, saying: ”Look! Those lives, peaceful and beautiful, are also your future lives. That’s my promise to you, and also the promise of the Dragon Group.”

The entire convoy quickened their pace unconsciously upon seeing this harmonious and beautiful scene. No longer confused, their faces were now filled with hope and yearning for a wonderful future.

Many children even clung to their parents, making a fuss about what pets they would raise in the future!

On the twentieth day, the Eldest Son Pioneer Corps finally reached their destination. During this time of integration, the group initially coalesced and gained some order and discipline.

Under the command of Bronze Dragon Alina, they followed the kobolds into the forest to chop wood and build temporary shelters, while the elderly and children set up tents at the foot of the mountain as temporary rest points.

Bronze Dragon Alina, however, ascended Short Mountain, gazing at the location she had chosen for the new city.

This was where the River of Gold gently gathered across the forest, with the surrounding land marked by several low mountains, the rest being low plains and river valleys. Many cascading waterfalls flowed from low mountain valleys, making it a scenic and strategic area.

A large enough city could be built on the forest-backed plains of the river valley, and she planned to construct the Dragon Group’s palace and administrative mansion on the low mountain.

Land on both sides of the river could also be developed into excellent farmland, and with the River of Gold connecting the area, communication with the Dragon Nest within the territory would be convenient. In the future, building medium and small river vessels would facilitate transport between the Dragon Nest and the territory, making material transport easy, and river transport far more convenient than land transport.

So Bronze Dragon Alina requested Karon to name this new city Bay Stream City.

...

Karon’s massive body was half-submerged in the boiling lava, only his huge head exposed, quietly listening to the incessant chatter of Red Copper Dragon Alfred.

The Red Copper Dragon and Red Dragon shared a preference for building nests in warm places. However, the Red Copper Dragon did not possess the same natural physique as the Red Dragon to soak in lava baths, yet the heat of the Red Dragon’s nest did not bother Red Copper Dragon Alfred.

Only the increasingly powerful domain pressure made Alfred uneasy, even though this was a deliberate restraint by Karon. However, the Red Copper Dragon, determined to claim a nest at the mountain peak, bravely endured the immense pressure to converse with the Red Dragon.
