Beneath the Red Dragon

Karon stood atop the mountain peak, the usually calm Heart Energy Vortex received massive feedback at this moment, countless Power of Heart Energy surged in, albeit still weak, but encompassed almost everyone.

From the foot of the mountain, the chanting and singing grew louder, Bronze Dragon Alina soared in mid-air, as if leading the choir of Chanting Angels, guiding the song.

The Red Dragon also ceased his sensing, moved by the increasingly fervent singing and chanting, he couldn’t help but spread his enormous wings, lifting his head in chorus, the deep voice of the Giant Dragon echoed throughout the mountains.

”I shall inherit the great deeds of the Dragon God,”

”Rule over the once First World,”

”Although it is but shattered history!”

With a roar,

The Red Dragon’s body was enveloped in a halo like a Divine Spirit manifesting, his massive form surged into the clouds above the Upper Nine Heavens, vanishing from sight!

Only the poem-like singing lingered in the mountains, enduring endlessly!

Even those Pioneer Corps members who did not understand the poem’s meaning were immersed in the epic atmosphere of the moment.

A strong sense of belonging and cohesion arose in the hearts of the Pioneer Corps members, as if at this time and place, they finally completed their loyalty ceremony to the Giant Dragon, seeing themselves as subjects of the domain.

After a long time, as the echoes dissipated, the quiet glade in the forest became lively again.

Large cauldrons were placed atop the burning embers, with only faint flames licking the bottoms now. Each large iron pot, produced by Clagon Blacksmith Shop, emphasized sturdiness, durability, and size.

The iron pots were filled to the brim, still with slightly steaming thick broth, within which floated many pieces of meat, a strong aroma of meat wafted with the steaming heat, tempting everyone’s taste buds.

It’s the meat of the Extraordinary Magical Beast, even general nobility doesn’t have the fortune to taste this.

The long, white bones suspended on giant trees exude an aura that ordinary people cannot face directly, proving how precious the meat in the pot is. Look at Bronze Dragon Alina, even the leader of the founding sons of the Pioneer Corps jumped the queue holding a big bowl.

Several Kobold Guards behind the iron pots raised large ladles to serve meat soup and meat pieces to the crowd, each dressed in skirts, with sleeves on their arms.

This was sewn from cleaned and dried Beast Hides by young Nora and other elderly and young logistics workers, to prevent some unhygienic Kobolds from contaminating the food.

If it weren’t for the vast workload of distributing food for thousands, and the heavy iron ladles from Clagon Blacksmith Shop, these elderly and young wouldn’t have handed the task to the Kobolds.

After all, it’s a lucrative post, as merely spilling some soup could mean more food for acquaintances.

Every adult laborer received a large bowl full of meat soup and a solid piece of meat, along with a sticky staple.

Through their communal living, they grew familiar, holding their soup bowls, chatting, squatting under the shade to enjoy rare leisure time.

Karon’s arrival brought half a day’s respite and precious Extraordinary Magical Beast meat, so most members of the Pioneer Corps were pleased by the Red Dragon’s visit.

”Hey, wouldn’t it be nice if the Red Dragon visited daily? We’d be comfortable, getting both rest and a feast. You know, even the Count back in my Earl’s Domain didn’t lavishly offer Extraordinary Magical Beast as food!”

A young man with a shiny bald head, naked torso, squatted on the ground, whispering to the man beside him while slurping the rich broth, feeling warmth flowing through his body, invigorating him.

Faen glanced at the bald head, two men alike, wanting to save the best for last, smacking his lips, savoring the exquisite taste of the broth, he said, ”Don’t be too greedy, life’s a bit tough now, but we eat well every day, and better days are ahead,”

”I actually find building a city by hand satisfying, watching a city rise slowly from the wilderness is a thrill!”

”Yeah, although tiring now, under nobles, it was worse, exhausting and hungry, even crushed like livestock accidentally. Here, even being a serf for years feels secure, and there’s meat sometimes, hehe!”

The young man wiped his greasy bald head with oil-covered hands, unconcerned about the sweat, then grabbed leftover meat from his bowl to munch.

In the Endless Forest, there’s never a shortage of prey, under the protection of Giant Dragons and their Beloved, these Pioneer Corps members needn’t fear attacks from Beasts, instead ordinary Beasts were their threat.

After all, it wasn’t just ordinary people among them coveting their flesh, Giant Dragons and their Beloved viewed them as indispensable food.

”Yeah, living securely, it’s rare,” Faen paused, suddenly thinking, shedding the anxiety of the Wasteland, life felt lighter now.

”Hey,” Faen sighed inexplicably, then bowed his head to chew.
