Chapter 2048: A Fine Mount

The starting price of Malidan Venom was 500 million, and the minimum raise was 10 million. It seemed this was one of the most anticipated items in the auction, given how fierce the bidding war was. The host could not handle it properly with so many people making their bids.

Within five minutes, the price shot up to 1.53 billion. When the price reached over one billion, it was usually a bidding war between the VIPs, but not for this one. The people who sat in the hall joined the bidding war until the end.

The moment the price surpassed 2 billion, Tang Shaoyang gave up on joining the bid. Even now, there were more than twenty people still fighting for the Malidan Venom. This was the true value of a Beast Spirit that had reached God Rank.

It was a long war, and eventually the price reached 3 billion, a bid from the people in the public seat that was holding the number 3 sign. At this point, it became a four-way battle between the number 3, the number 91, the fourth VIP, and the tenth VIP.

In the end, the man with the number 91 sign got the Malidan Venom with 4.73 billion. The most expensive Beast Spirit so far for one Beast Spirit. With how far it went, it was as if they came for this specific item. At least that might be the case for number 3. The moment he lost the bid, he left the auction hall.

”Now we are finally reaching the final show of the night, and I am confident enough that the eighteenth Beast Spirit will surprise you all. The only reason we put it on auction is because our Chief Caretaker is not confident in raising it to its full potential. Let’s not wait any longer, please bring it to the stage.”

Some might be disappointed with how small the cage was. The previous Beast Spirit was bigger, but the cage for this was a 7x7 meter cage. It wasn’t until the female host pulled the white cloth that covered the cage. Inside the glass cage was a pair of white fox cubs.

The cub was the size of Tang Shaoyang’s palm, and the thing that attracted people was their tail. One had a tail made of flame, and the second one had a tail that kept releasing cold air.

”That’s right, this is the famous nine-tailed fox! But of course, it requires great care for the two cubs to grow to be the mythical nine-tailed fox. Our caretaker is not confident in nurturing them to be a nine-tailed fox, but he guarantees the two cubs have the potential to reach six-tails.”

It was called Elemental Fox, but it was capable of growing up to nine tails, which people often called a nine-tailed fox. The tail indicated the element it mastered. The one with the fire tail meant it had mastered Fire Elemental Power, and the one with the frost air had mastered the Ice Elemental Power.

It was similar to Tang Shaoyang’s Wicked Dragon bloodline. The difference was that he grew a new head each time he mastered a new elemental power instead of a tail. It was a rare Beast Spirit with high potential.

”Are you confident in getting these two cubs to reach their full potential?” Tang Shaoyang asked Azhug. He was certainly interested in keeping the Elemental Fox.

Azhug shook his head, ”I have seen the nine-tailed one before, and this is the second time I see an Elemental Fox. I am not confident to grow it to nine tails, but I am confident it will live comfortably in our garden.”

”I am sorry to interrupt,” Elonia, who had been silent for some time, opened her mouth, ”I am going to join the bid too this time. The reason I am here is for them.”

That was right, the reason Elonia was here was because of this pair of foxes. She recently found out that the Cladeos Emporium possessed a pair of Elemental Fox. Their hunter was quite lucky to find the cub next to their mother’s dead bodies. The mother died with eight tails, and the father was nowhere to be seen.

Elonia wanted to keep the fox as her pet until she found out the Cladeos Emporium branch in the Beast Spirit Alliance was putting it in an auction. She could ask them to pull it out of the auction, but that would ruin the auction. Meira purposely leaked the auction as a marketing ploy, which is why the auction hall was packed more than usual. Most of them were coming for the Elemental Fox.

”I want to keep them, but the director of this branch has already put them up for auction. I have no choice but to buy them if I want to keep them. This is not the way I am telling you to give up, but just a reminder to avoid a misunderstanding between us.”

Elonia was afraid that the Executive Administrator would see her as an obstacle to obtaining the fox in case they were interested.

The starting price for the pair was 600 million, and it quickly shot up to over 1 billion in less than thirty seconds. Elonia had not joined the bid. She was observing from the side from the time being. There were too many people joining the bid, after all. It drove the price so high that it quickly reached 3 billion.

The value in the pair of cubs was their potential to be a nine-tailed Elemental Fox. Azhug and Liora told Tang Shaoyang that a nine-tailed Elemental Foxed could get as strong as an elder dragon or even the Guardian Dragon. It finally made sense if that was the case.

By the time the bid reached 4 billion, half of the people gave up. All ten VIPs were still taking part in the bid, and Elonia was still waiting. The moment Elonia joined the bid, the price already surpassed 5 billion, and it kept going up.

Elonia was determined to get the pair as she kept raising the bid at ease, and she truly got them back with 9.8 billion. The host was quite excited, saying how this one broke the record for the highest bid for a Beast Spirit in the history of their auction.

The old man mentioned how they might be wrong to put out the Elemental Fox as the eighteenth. This one should be the last.

”But don’t be too disappointed, ladies and gentlemen. The next one is no less rare than the Elemental Fox! Bring me the next one!”

They focused on the cub that most did notice the female host was not on the stage. She walked out of the backstage area, holding a leash, bringing the next Beast Spirit. The nineteenth Beast Spirit was not in a cage, the first one not to be in a cage.

It was a horse, a three-meter-tall horse. But it was not just any horse; this one was the rarest horse breed in the Beast Spirit called Temporal Venox. It was named after where it came from, a world called Venox. That was the only place people could find this species until it was destroyed by the Void Cult.

The world was destroyed and had been cleansed by the Administrator a long time ago, but the home of Temporal Venox was gone. The only way to get this one is for the people who managed to get them before the world was destroyed.

Temporal Venox was certainly not as rare as a nine-tailed Elemental Fox. However, it was still rarer than Elemental Fox. It was known as the royalty’s mount because only the people of the Royal Family were known to ride it.

Temporal Venox had obsidian black fur, pristine and well-maintained as it shone under the light. Its mane and tail were made of dark-purple flame, blazing fiercely under the wind. It also had the same-colored flame above its hoof, but it didn’t burn the floor where it stepped, and the flame hair also did not burn the female host.

Temporal Venox’s flame only burned the people it deemed enemies. It didn’t see the female host as an enemy, so the flame didn’t hurt her.

It was a pair of crimson horns above its eyes, curving down following its nose, and it had a spear-like mark between its eyes, down close to its muzzle. That mark was gleaming in dark-gold, and it had dark-crimson eyes.

Tang Shaoyang’s eyes shone at the sight of the horse as he exclaimed, ”This is a fine mount.”

The people around him could tell that he was interested in the Temporal Venox, ”I want to get this one!” That was not a request; it was a statement that he would get it no matter how high the price was.

The Temporal Venox’s imposing look might be why the royalty chose it as their mount, but Temporal Venox was known as one of the quickest Beast Spirits on land. They had a quick dash that looked like teleportation, and it certainly had the power to knock a giant beast as well.
