Chapter 2017: The Mute Finally Speaks

Ouyang Biya knew the reason she could climb to the 8th True God Realm was because of her looks. The Supreme Being took a fancy to her and supported her. She used her beauty as leverage, gaining the support of the Heaven Founder to nurture her. She agreed to be his wife, mistress, or anything he desired for her with the condition that her revenge took priority, and the Supreme Being agreed.

While the Supreme Being had claimed her, she was still a virgin. Her virginity was important for her cultivation, which was why the Supreme Being did not touch her. Of course, she felt bad for betraying the Heaven Founder since they gave her a chance, but she lost that chance when she died. The one in front of her was another chance for her revenge, and she did not hesitate to take it, even if it meant betraying the Heaven Founder.

Her relationship with the Heaven Founder was like a contract agreement. It was not like she had not done anything for their cause, and she also died for their cause, even though this time it was mixed with her greed as well.

That was the reason why she easily switched sides if it meant getting what she desired. She didn’t care even if she had to sell her body to the monster. But then she forgot the most important thing in the deal, Tang Shaoyang’s actual identity. He was part of the Tang Clan, meaning she would serve her enemy.

The thought of sleeping with her enemy disgusted her; her face contorted in disgust. However, she was conflicted as well because she did not know how long until she was summoned again if Tang Shaoyang let her go. There was a chance she would be sacrificed if she refused the contract.

—Tang Shaoyang—

[You have summoned an Archaic Spirit, Blood Blossom Enchantress - Ouyang Biya!]

”Without a doubt, you are a stunning beauty, but I already have stunning wives myself. How about you serve me as a spirit for twenty years, then I will resurrect you. However, there’s a cost for the resurrection as well. You must serve my empire, the Tang Empire, for forty years. Forty years of service in exchange for resurrection, then you will be free.”

Tang Shaoyang rejected beauty. Without a doubt, Ouyang Biya was a toppling beauty, but all his wives were toppling beauties. He barely had time for them because of the God Order and the Nirvana Alliance, who decided to kill him.

There might be more factions, and people wanted him dead. If he died, he could not imagine what his wives and daughters would go through. Death was a mercy for them if they lost the fight, but they might face worse than death itself. Adding one more beauty would not help him solve the problem; he rejected her for that reason.

If it were the old Tang Shaoyang, he might accept the offer. Or maybe he might hesitate for a while before accepting or rejecting Ouyang Biya, but the Essence of Tranquility Breathing truly helped him. He was decisive with his decision to decline the beauty. What he needed from her was her service as a strong spirit.

”Tang Empire, not the Tang Clan? You are not part of the Tang Clan from the Murim Alliance?” Ouyang Biya sounded confused for a moment.

Tang Shaoyang was surprised, but he immediately realized that the Tang surname might be a common surname in the Sacred Realm.

”We might share a surname, but this is the first time I hear about the Tang Clan of the Murim Alliance. In fact, I only knew about the Murim Alliance less than a month ago.”

He was not lying about finding out that information less than a month ago. He knew about the Murim Alliance and the Sacred Realm from Grandmaster Xu’s note in the Grandmaster Codex. But then he indeed shared a name with one of the Grandmasters. It made sense if there was a clan that shared the same surname in the Murim Alliance.

”How do I know you are not lying to me?” Ouyang Biya squinted her eyes, suspicious of Tang Shaoyang.

Tang Shaoyang shrugged, ”You will know once you agree to the contract. Also, does it matter whether I am lying or not? Do you think you have other choices except accepting my contract? I am being generous to consider your resurrection, but if I have to beat you to establish the contract. Then you can give up on the resurrection option.”

A reality hit Ouyang Biya once more. He was right that she had no other choice but to accept the contract if she wanted the second chance. She was killed once by Tang Shaoyang’s subordinate, and it should not be difficult to defeat her in this second fight as well.

Once she was defeated, Tang Shaoyang had another choice aside from forcing a contract on her: sacrificing her. Reaching an agreement without fighting was the safest choice for her. However, the thought of serving her enemy was revolting. Especially if Tang Shaoyang was part of the Tang Clan.

The Tang Clan might not be the mastermind behind her clan’s demise, but the Tang Clan played a big role in the fall of her clan. She closed her eyes, trying to calm down. It took her a while before she could contain her disgust and accept the contract.

She was relieved by the fact that the contract was similar to the Divine Oath, an absolute. If the other party violated the agreement, death was the only outcome for the violator.

Tang Shaoyang could perceive her spirit’s emotion once linked, but he did not care since it was just a misunderstanding. He was not part of the Tang Clan of the Murim Alliance. After Ouyang Biya settled down in the Spirit World, he showed his status screen to her.

”Look here. It says my affiliation is the Tang Empire, not the Tang Clan or the Murim Alliance. My home is Earth, not the Sacred Realm. Is this enough to clear your misunderstanding?”

First, Tang Shaoyang would like to build a relationship with his spirit with honesty. A trust gained through honesty. That was his belief. Second, he would like to get more information about the Sacred Realm and the Murim Alliance. Third, he wanted to know Ouyang Biya’s backing.

Ouyang Biya knew something about the Grandmaster Codex, and it was clear they wanted it to send the 8th Stage True God Realm to retrieve it. It was unfortunate that he could not see what the 8th Stage True God Realm was capable of.

She showed some devastating technique, but he believed it was not everything. The five undead’s coordination completely suppressed Ouyang Biya from the start to the end. The wound to her left thigh was also detrimental to her in the fight.

’I can see her full potential when she fights as a spirit later on.’

He put aside his curiosity about how strong Ouyang Biya was. There was a more pressing matter at hand: Ouyang Biya’s backing and also more information about the Sacred Realm. He was about to ask her new spirit until someone unexpectedly cut him first.

[Are you really the Thousand Vows Pavilion’s successor? Do you have the codex?] Han Taiyang, who had refused to talk since the contract, started to talk.
