Chapter 2022: Candidates

Tang Shaoyang explained about the cultivators, mostly something he read from Grandmaster Xu’s notes or whispers from Ouyang Biya. He knew he was not good with words, so Ouyang Biya helped him to explain about cultivation and cultivation along with the potentials.

The thing he saw from the cultivation was that it would not make them less reliant on a skill. Most of the skills had a cooldown, and cultivation didn’t have that cooldown. As long as you had an internal energy to power it up, then you could use the technique.

Of course, he did not forget to explain the responsibility that came with the technique. If they accepted this opportunity, they would be responsible for rebuilding the Thousand Vows Pavilion. He had learned a little bit of the Thousand Vows Pavilion from Ouyang Biya, how the Thousand Vows Pavilion ran differently from the other sects in the Sacred Realm.

He also made sure to be more specific about Alchemy stuff for Kate, for her to understand more what she would get into. However, he did not need to convince her because the moment he mentioned that Yu was one of the cultivators, the girl eagerly accepted the offer.

Despite Ouyang Biya’s help in explaining the cultivation, Tang Shaoyang could see his people were still confused. It could be seen from their expression that they had a lot of questions, except for Kate. The girl had watched Yu in action. Even though she did not understand that much either, she had seen the result.

It was different for the nine men in the room. None of them had seen what a cultivator could do. It was not like Tang Shaoyang could give them an example either. In the end, he showed them an example. One of the Nine Heavenly Gates’ techniques.

He sent Heaven Shattering Palm to the wall to his right from where he sat. They saw the golden palm shoot out from his palm and create a hole the size of his palm. He told Origin to leave the hole for a while. It was the perfect shape of his palm.

”That’s not a skill, a palm technique, something you can learn manually. Of course, there are a lot of other techniques. Sword techniques, spear techniques, fist techniques, and many more.”

The nine men immediately realized what a cultivator was. It was something they had seen in shows and movies. The demonstration was easier to understand. Kang Zian, Zaneos, and Zhao Zhong immediately voiced their willingness to join in.

”But I have to remind you that this is not a skill, not something you learn instantly. It takes time, and patience is the key...”

Tang Shaoyang paused, realizing that he might be wrong. They had their internal energy even without cultivation. They could execute a technique upon learning by using that energy.

[Don’t give them a weird idea, unless you have tried and succeeded. Don’t even try to experiment unless you are confident, because they might suffer energy deviation.]

This was the first time Tang Shaoyang heard about energy deviation. However, he did not need to ask because Ouyang immediately explained.

[Ah, yes. You are also a newbie, so you don’t know what energy deviation is. In short, the people who suffer from energy deviation will lose their minds. They might become crazy, a crazy murderer, or their mind becomes like a child again, and death is the best outcome if you suffer energy deviation.]

[If you are thinking of a cure, then there’s no cure for it. Only a miracle could fix energy deviation. Remember, don’t think of giving them a random cultivation technique to learn because that might cause energy deviation... I guess you don’t have to worry about energy deviation for the basic cultivation technique.]

Tang Shaoyang took the advice seriously. He did not really know that there was such a side effect for cultivation.

”I will give you one more night to make a decision.”

Kang Zian, Zaneos, Zhao Zhong, and Kate accepted the offer, but not the other six, who looked hesitant. The palm show was good, but that was not enough to convince them.

Tian Donghai, Yan Sheng, Cao Yuntai, Fan Rui, Bai Yuan, and Gu Yingjie were unsure. The conversation continued, their concerns lay in the Thousand Vows Pavilion. He wanted to know more about the Thousand Vows Pavilion.

”Ah, you don’t need to worry about your current position. You will keep it. The Thousand Vows Pavilion will become part of the academy that teaches cultivation. I will send the students who are interested in cultivation to you, and you will teach them. The teaching is not that hard; you just need to spare one or two days a week to guide them. You will understand soon enough if you accept the offer, and if you want to join, then come to the training ground at the academy tomorrow morning.”

Tang Shaoyang thought of giving them the cultivation technique right now, but now he changed his mind after listening to Ouyang Biya about the energy deviation.

”Think it over night, but I will make it clear. What I have shown you is just a small part of what cultivation could bring. If you are worried this might be an experiment, then you don’t need to worry about it because all my wives will learn it too.”

The ten people leave the room with a thoughtful expression, except for Kate and Zaneos. The demon was quite excited, in fact, and Kate showed it on her face. She immediately told her husband what Yu was capable of and told him to trust the Emperor.

Tang Shaoyang wondered what Yu told the people in TEAA for Kate to have that kind of reaction. Now that he thought about it, he might need to consult Yu to choose Kate’s cultivation technique. When it came to alchemy, Yu might be the only expert he had.

Ouyang Biya and Han Taiyang were not specialized in alchemy. The two might know one or two things, but Yu was an expert.

Tang Shaoyang stayed in the room because he had another meeting with his vassals. When he said this was an opportunity, he did not lie. He would give his vassals the same opportunity as well. He would not keep the cultivation for himself, but he needed to assure his vassals that they could not teach the cultivation to those who were not part of the Thousand Vows Pavilion.

If they want to learn cultivation, they must join the Thousand Vows Pavilion. This would help to rebuild the Thousand Vows Pavilion.

The first one to arrive was his new vassal, the Duchy of Michalina. Michalina was accompanied by an old man and a man in his thirties. They wore suits and bowed to him upon entering the room. The Dwarven Confederation arrived not long after.

Chief Engin and the other Elders were still busy with their project in the God Realm. The Dwarven Confederation was represented by Engin’s brother, Nasek, and the youngest elder, Durmil.

The Beast Coven arrived after the Dwarven Confederation, and Moonsong was the leader of the Beast Coven, the fourth Vice Supreme Commander. The Moonlight Tribe would be the voice for the Beast Coven.

Park Nam Hoon, the leader of Han, came in person, the person who took charge of the Korea Region, accompanied by his old friends. Izuhara Tachibana, the leader of Asahi, the vassal in charge of the Japan Region, also came in person, accompanied by his close aides.

The Adventurer Guild had to send a representative because Forlan and Hemlin were still inside the dimensional Tower. Ladirma, Hemlin’s apprentice, came in person by himself. The meeting was quickly filled by the vassals, and the last one to arrive was the Elven Kingdom.

The Elven Kingdom was not late; they came in time, in fact, right at the meeting time. Alissa was accompanied by her Advisor and an Elder.

Tang Shaoyang did not waste his time. The moment all vassals arrived, he immediately explained about the opportunity. He wanted to share the cultivation with his vassals as well. He wanted to grow stronger with them together.
