Chapter 2020: Change of Plan

”Do we have news from Biya?”

An emotionless voice that contained absolute authority echoed in the dimly lit hall. The voice came from the man who sat on the throne. The throne was set up on the platform, and with the dim lightning, only the silhouette of a man with long hair could be seen.

Meanwhile, thirteen people were on their knees. A sliver of light slid through the small gap behind the throne, illuminating the thirteen robbed figures. They all wore the same outfit, a black robe with a white-colored mask.

”We haven’t heard anything from Guardian Ouyang Biya.”

One of them answered the inquiry, but it was hard to tell who was speaking. The voice sounded like it came from all around the room. Of course, the figure on the throne knew who replied to him. He recognized his subordinate’s voice.

”What have you done after realizing something went wrong after you sent her away?”

The voice remained toneless, did not sound blaming anyone, yet the tension in the hall rose on another level. The thirteen figures’ bodies tensed up.

”Supreme Guardian Kong Guiying intended to go to save Guardian Ouyang Biya, but I stopped him, My Lord.”

Supreme Guardian Kong Guiying was the one who sent Ouyang Biya and her team to the Skywound Realm. Of course, he did not force the mission; he merely offered the mission. However, deep inside, he knew that Ouyang Biya would take the bait when he mentioned the Thousand Vows Pavilion’s inheritance.

The one who answered the question was the second Supreme Guardian, Duan Zhong. It was true that Kong Guiying almost went to the Skywound Realm, but he stopped Supreme Guardian Kong. He had a good reason for that, which was why he was brave enough to answer on behalf of Kong Guiying.

”Why do you stop Supreme Guardian Kong Guiying from saving my soon-to-be bride, your future lady?” The person on the throne asked, but then he waved his hand, ”No, you don’t need to answer me. I already know the answer. You hate her because she is not from your lineage, am I right?”

The pressure grew and the temperature dropped when the last part was said. Eleven figures’ bodies flinched upon hearing the answer.

”No, My Lord. We can’t afford to split our attention to the matter with the Administrator when our grand plan is about to start. We can’t afford to draw the Administrator’s attention to us. It’s bad enough that we are losing Guardian Ouyang. We can’t afford to lose Supreme Guardian Kong, My Lord.”

It was a reasonable excuse, but the person on the throne would not accept that. His aura flared and pressured the whole hall, making it hard for the thirteen figures to breathe. The Supreme Being was at the peak of the True God Realm, the same realm as the two Supreme Guardians. However, it was clear that the Supreme Being was stronger than the two based on their reaction.

”Please look for the bigger picture, My Lord. We can’t ruin our plan just for a woman,” Supreme Guardian Duan Zhong smashed his head to the ground, bowing toward the figure on the throne.

”How dare you!”

The Supreme Being stood from the throne as his voice boomed in the hall. The platform where the throne cracked, five out of sixteen pillars cracked, and Supreme Guardian Duan Zhong fell flat on the floor. Supreme Guardian Duan Zhong tried to resist, but the old guardian realized how helpless he was.

The anger was just a split moment before the Supreme Being plopped back on the throne. He closed his eyes and said, ”Don’t show your face in front of me until the day. I will kill you if you ever show your useless face again!”

”Scram!”

His voice echoed and brought shock waves that collapsed ten pillars. The debris fell over on top of the Guardian, but of course, the debris could not hurt those immortals. They were too strong to be hurt by falling debris.

The floor split into two, the wall on the right side collapsed, and the giant door flung open. Once, the majestic hall was in ruin.

The thirteen robed figures stood and immediately left the hall, running for their lives.

A sigh escaped from the man who sat on the throne. He closed his eyes and imagined the smile of the woman he once loved. He would not be able to see her smile anymore because he knew she was dead, and so did the guardians. That was the reason why they were so brazen with their answers. They knew he would not kill them for the dead.

They knew Ouyang Biya was dead because her incense died, indicating she was killed in the Skywound Realm.

Tang Shaoyang watched her three daughters playing in the snow area with the Snow Caracal’s cubs. The three girls were chasing after the white furred creature, laughing their hearts out. Their laughter made him smile, and even if the class did not live up to its hype, he did not regret taking this class just to see her daughters’ smiles.

While watching the trio, he was listening to Ouyang Biya’s story about what would happen in the Sacred Realm. The moment Ouyang Biya found out that Tang Shaoyang didn’t have a relationship with the Tang Family, she opened up.

The Heaven Founder’s Grand Plan to overthrow the Murim Alliance and take over the Sacred Realm. The Heaven Founder was a hidden organization that the Murim Alliance knew nothing of. They did not know that the Heaven Founder existed. Even if the Heaven Founder existed, the Murim Alliance was being overconfident that they would be able to get rid of this Heaven Founder.

The Heaven Founder felt this was the right time to start their grand plan, when their enemy was being overly confident. The Murim Alliance did not know how deep the Heaven Founder’s roots were; they did not know how strong the Heaven Founder’s foundation was.

2 palaces, 4 Empires, 6 Great Sects, and 8 famed families were the renowned leading figures in the Murim Alliance. However, 1 palace, 2 empires, and 3 famed families had switched sides to the Heaven Founder. Added with the Heaven Founder’s original force, they were ready to strike the overconfident Murim Alliance.

[Soon, the Sacred Realm would turn into a battlefield, and a war would break out. It will be a long war; we expect it to be long, even with all the plans we have. It’s impossible to win the war right away, but we are confident of routing the Murim Alliance in a few years. I guess I am not that part anymore, and I hope you can bring me there to see the fall of the Murim Alliance. I am not asking you to join the Heaven Founder, I just want to see the fall of the Murim Alliance.]

Ouyang Biya realized that her second chance might never come unless the Murim Alliance won the fight. However, she had seen how prepared the Heaven Founder was. She had seen how the Murim Alliance had gone weaker and complacent with the peace.

Tang Shaoyang rubbed his chin, nodding his head. The gear in his head was moving. He didn’t really plan to visit the Sacred Realm this soon, but he might have a change of mind after getting the new information.

A war was about to happen in the Sacred Realm, a big war. A war meant bodies, bodies meant sacrifices, and sacrifices meant more spirits. With his new class, God of Martial, this might be the right time to visit the Sacred Realm.

It was not a bad idea to visit the Sacred Realm to learn more about the faction in the Sacred Realm, especially about the sect, since he had a promise to rebuild the Thousand Vows Pavilion.
