Chapter 2039: Auction Starts

Elonia was relieved that Tang Shaoyang did not reject her proposal directly. She thought he was rejecting her, but it turned out the person in charge was here. It made sense that Tang Shaoyang was not directly in charge of this matter. However, she realized that this might be harder than she thought.

From her short interaction with Tang Shaoyang, she found out he did not like complicated things and just wanted to get things done. It was easy to deal with, but it would be different if it were an expert. And this expert was also the Emperor’s wife, meaning bribery would never work.

”Should I elaborate on the details, or do you want to discuss the proposal later, after the auction. That way, we would have more time to talk. What do you think, Lady Li Shuang?”

She shifted her attention toward the Prime Minister. She noticed the bulging belly and realized Li Shuang was pregnant.

’I need to prepare the gift for the baby to smooth things out.’

”We can hold the discussion for later, but let me hear your proposal first, Lady Elonia. That way, I can communicate with my people at home as well. I need my people’s opinions as well, and we need His Majesty’s approval for the final decision.”

Li Shuang kept it vague, not to give the host a false hope, and she was also telling Elonia that the Tang Empire might reject the proposal if it was unfavorable to the empire.

”We want to establish a branch in the Tang Empire’s territory, both in the God Realm and on Earth. We will help the Tang Empire to sell your unique products through The Cladeos Emporium. Just so you know, we have opened more than a million branches all over the world, including the God Realm, the Dragon Realm, and the Divine Realm.”

Tang Shaoyang already knew the God Realm and the Dragon Realm, but he knew nothing about this Divine Realm. Maybe Arion and Clementine mentioned that there were more realms outside there than just the God Realm and the Dragon Realm, but this was the first time he heard about the Divine Realm.

He raised his hand, cutting Elonia’s proposal once more, which seemed to annoy her. However, his new status made her more docile than Elonia, whom he met in the Trial of God. She did not lash out at him, waiting for him to speak.

”I never heard about the Divine Realm. Can you tell me something about it?”

Elonia was surprised that an Executive Administrator did not know anything about the Divine Realm. It was a renowned realm, less than the Dragon Realm, but it was still a renowned realm. But then she realized that Tang Shaoyang was only recently appointed as the Executive Administrator. In fact, it was not long ago since he became an Administrator.

”The simple way to explain the Divine Realm is that it’s a place where angels live, or the natives call themselves the Divine Race, hence the Divine Realm. Aside from angels, the renowned Valkyrie is also from the Divine Realm. Another famous race from the Divine Realm is the Titan.”

Tang Shaoyang almost blurted out, asking about the Fallen Angel, but then he stopped himself. Zara never mentioned the Divine Realm. It might be because it was related to her dark past that she did not want to mention. He motioned Elonia to continue his proposal, keeping his mouth shut despite his curiosity about the Divine Realm.

”Through our million branches, you would be able to sell your excess or maybe outdated armor and weapons through us, or materials you have no use for. We can sell them to a newer world, or maybe an inferior world. The Cladeos Emporium is also active in many Systems’ events; the Trial of God is one of those events.”

”On top of that, you can buy materials or any items you need. I believe we have almost everything that a new world needs. Whether it’s a recipe, blueprints for weapon and armor, raw materials, even Bloodline and Class Scrolls.”

”Of course, the Bloodline and the Class Scrolls are on the rarer side of our products, but you can put in an order, and we can look for a specific bloodline or class you want.”

What Elonia mentioned was the benefit for the Tang Empire with the establishment of the Cladeos Emporium. Li Shuang was not too naive to think that they would receive the most benefits. The new flow of their products would also bring them great profit, but Li Shuang felt there was something else she had missed.

”That’s a good proposal, a win-win proposal. We—”

Elonia raised her hand, stopping Li Shuang, ”I haven’t done yet. There’s something else we want.”

Li Shuang was surprised, then she motioned for Elonia to continue. She was right, there was something else the Cladeos Emporium wanted from them. She would find out soon what it was.

”This is the most important thing. We want an exclusive right for the Cladeos Emporium. This exclusive right means only the Cladeos Emporium can conduct business in the Tang Empire’s territory.”

Elonia knew that the Cladeos Emporium would get the consent to open their branch easily, but she wanted more than that. An exclusive right in the Executive Administrator’s territory. It was a gamble that she would most likely win.

Even if they lost the gamble and the Tang Empire was destroyed, they didn’t suffer that much. But if the Tang Empire became big, the Cladeos Emporium would reap the benefit with the exclusive right.

Li Shuang furrowed her brow; she did not like the proposal in the slightest. The proposal was harmful for the Tang Empire’s growth, meaning the empire and its people could not open an establishment, and the Cladeos Emporium wanted a monopoly over their territory.

”I think you misunderstand something, Lady Li Shuang. The locals still can open their business, conduct business outside of Earth as well, just like we do, but it is limited only to the local people. I will give you a list of our competitors. The exclusive right means our competitors can’t conduct business in and with the Tang Empire.”

Elonia noticed the change in Li Shuang’s expression. She realized what it was and immediately explained. Of course, it would be much better if they could get the monopoly, but the smart ones would not let that happen.

”As I said, I need to discuss with my people how big the scale of your proposal is, Lady Elonia. You have expressed what you want, but I haven’t heard the benefit for the empire by giving the Cladeos Emporium an exclusive right.”

Li Shuang tried to understand why the Cladeos Emporium wanted this exclusivity with them. They were a faction from a new world, not some big shot. The only big shot was...

That was when she realized what the Cladeos Emporium was after: her husband. Her husband was the strongest individual on Earth. That was without a doubt, but on the grand scale, there must be a lot of people who were stronger than her husband.

It was no longer secret that it had been thousands of years since the Game started, maybe a million. There was no accurate data for that, and she was confident that her husband was still far from those ancient figures, considering it had been five years since the Game on Earth.

’It’s not how strong Shaoyang is, but something else. He does have a secret about taming calamity, maybe about that.’

She heard a lot of terrible things about calamity from her husband, and those things could not be tamed, yet her husband found a way to form a connection with them. Ophelia and Ophelius were the result of that skill.

’Ah, there’s something else. It’s Shaoyang’s new status as the Executive Administrator.’

The moment Li Shuang found out why the Cladeos Emporium wanted to form a connection with her husband, a plan was formulated in her mind.

’Let’s take it slow and probe her.’

”You can buy or make an order from us with five percent off, and we will buy your items ten percent higher. How does that sound?” Elonia shot her chance.

Five percent and ten percent sounded low, but depending on how big their purchases were, that was a lot.

”That’s it? You can’t offer us anything else?” Li Shuang was disappointed. She expected more than that, not expecting Lady Elonia to try to low-ball her.

Elonia was about to continue until a music rang, an indication that the auction was about to start. Tang Xiulan, Li Jiaying, Li Yue, and Cecil ran to the big window. They could see everything from their room, and the four girls were quite excited when they saw the people who played music on the platform.

”The auction is about to start. Let’s stop here, and please consider my offer, and let’s set up a meeting for more details. How does that sound?” Elonia also did not dare to offer too big a deal without discussing it with her family first.
