Chapter 2004: It’s Your Senior’s Turn

At a glance, the giant sword movement was too fast for the naked eye, but not from Tang Shaoyang’s perspective. The sword was slow to him, and the moment the sword moved by an inch, he immediately used Blink.

Two hundred meters above the main base, right at the sword’s trajectory, where it will strike. He was holding the sword with his left hand, and his right hand was at the handle. He bent his body forward slightly while maintaining his body in the air.

During his cultivation in the old Thousand Vows Pavilions’ city, he did some experiments like combining the elemental power into his technique. However, he used the basic element back then. This was the first time he tried it on Ethereal Frost Elemental Power.

Tang Shaoyang stayed still, waiting for the sword to come at him. At the same time, the frost aura started to spread and created snow. The more power he channeled, the stronger the frost aura became. The image of an Azure Dragon released the frost aura, also getting stronger.

The sword was moving, but it looked like it was moving in slow motion in Tang Shaoyang. He kept waiting until the sword reached ten meters away from him. That was when he pulled his sword.

The Fifth Heavenly Gate: Heavenly Sword - Heaven Severing World

He simply swung the sword to meet the tip of the giant sword. The moment the giant sword touched Azure Dragon Blade, the giant sword froze. The giant sword was instantly frozen, turning into an ice sword.

Tang Shaoyang made a full swing of his sword, breaking the tip of the giant sword. Then the Azure Dragon flew off, breaking the ice sword in the middle. It looked like fragile ice that easily broke apart.

The roar of the dragon filled the air as the giant sword crumbled into pieces that immediately turned into snow after being torn apart. The dragon had ascended to heaven. That gave him an idea to create a similar technique instead of combining two different techniques and one elemental power. That was for the future him, of course.

Tang Shaoyang grinned from ear to ear because he succeeded in infusing Ethereal Frost into his sword technique. He turned around, specifically looking for Clementine, and gave her a smirk. That was the answer for her when she underestimated him.

However, this was far from over. He flew to the sky, blowing the snow in all directions. In that time frame, he put the sword’s sheath. The sky was slowly closing in, and his figure looked tiny with how high he was. Of course, the people from outside noticed him.

”How about we let the dragon descend this time?”

Tang Shaoyang muttered as he raised his sword with his two hands. It was rare for him to hold his sword with both hands when he usually held his massive battle axe with just one hand.

”But I don’t know if this will work...”

The Fifth Heavenly Gate: Heavenly Sword - Shimmer of Heaven

A hundred golden swords descended from the sky, none of them above the city but outside the city. Each sword was around eight meters long, much smaller, but there were a hundred of them. The golden color derived from the Heavenly Energy, there was a touch of blackness on it as the effect of Chaos Energy.

There was either a black strip or a black tribal strip on each sword. Not just that, there was also movement on each sword, coiling around the sword. That thing was a similar azure dragon that broke apart the giant sword earlier.

However, Tang Shaoyang was not done yet as he activated another skill. The default skill from his Azure Dragon Blade was Azure Dragon Descent. The idea was that he could apply Azure Dragon Descent to all one hundred swords made of Heavenly Energy.

He did not know if he could do it, but he made sure to make it clear with his intent. It was something he learned from the cultivator, treating the energy as if they were alive and delivering his intent to them. That was what he was doing to the Chaos Energy and also the skill, sending his intent.

Tang Shaoyang hoped it would work, but he would not be disappointed if it did not work either. He expected it not to work since this was more difficult, and this was actually his first try. It was different compared to when he combined the Ethereal Frost Elemental Power into his sword technique.

The sounds of gates being opened resounded. The familiar grating sound entered his ears, and he saw through Chaos Eyes that he managed to create fifty gates. As the gate opened, a pure Azure Dragon descended toward the sword. It coiled around the sword as he intended, making it two dragons in one sword. The two dragons took a swirl on the sword up and down, moving in harmony.

Tang Shaoyang did not expect this to work right away, and he could not contain his grin. He did not waste his time as he swung Azure Dragon Blade down. At the exact moment, the hundred golden swords also descended at extreme speeds.

The dragon’s roars filled the air and caused the wall, the ground, and the buildings to shake. The cultivators who tried to maintain the formation disappeared, shredded into nothing. Then it was followed by a boom that shook the ground violently.

The dust settled down as it revealed the devastating aftermath. There were no more cultivators who maintained the formation. The golden swords remained, stuck to the ground.

Tang Shaoyang heard a lot of kill notifications that he quickly closed. It was so annoying when he heard the ding noise in his head, so he asked the System to turn it off for now.

Despite the devastating counter by Tang Shaoyang, the fight was still not over. While Shimmer of Heaven killed a lot of people, the strong ones still survived. The skill was good in a war, but it was less effective when he wanted to kill the strong individuals. The strong would be ready when they saw golden swords hanging in the air. They would not let the hanging sword kill them.

”Your back is open!”

An old voice came from his back.

Tang Shaoyang could feel the tip of a cold steel on the back of his neck. A long, white-haired old man had his sword on Tang Shaoyang’s neck. He covered his face with black clothing, yet his eyes remained sharp and contained vigor that was not supposed to be there from someone his age.

The old man was not alone, as six more people were following behind him with the same outfit. However, those six people clearly looked much younger.

”Hand over—”

Before the old man could finish his words, a shadow appeared between him and Tang Shaoyang’s back. Clementine grabbed the sword with her bare hand. The sword was sharp enough to cut Clementine’s skin, but she did not care about the cut. She pulled the sword close to her before sending the kick to the old man’s belly.

The kick was just pure raw strength with no skill. That sent the old man like a rocket down to the ground. It went with a boom. The six people were alarmed and immediately created distance from Clementine and Tang Shaoyang.

”I will not allow you to bully my junior,” Clementine turned toward Tang Shaoyang and winked, ”You have shown me what you could do. Now let me show you what your senior is capable of. It’s your senior’s turn to show off.”
