Chapter 1096: Chapter 378: Guardian Family (Part 2)

He looked into Halowin’s clear and fervent eyes, and couldn’t help but laugh inside.

Interesting.

Unexpectedly, the eldest son of the Duke of Mingster, the first heir of the Bavarian family, turned out to be a battle maniac.

Indeed, otherwise, at just over thirty years of age, he couldn’t have reached the formal Legendary Level and been honored with the title of ’Bavarian Lance’.

”Of course.” For the first-time meeting with the Duke of Mingster’s eldest son, Rein had no negative impression and immediately nodded in agreement.

However, Rein planned to use some points to enhance himself before proceeding.

”The casting time of Metal Cage is ultimately too slow, making it completely impractical in actual combat.”

”Just right, I can take this opportunity to integrate this new witchcraft into my combat system,” Rein thought to himself.

After all, having a Legendary Level powerhouse as a sparring partner is a rare opportunity.

Rein glanced at the remaining Skill Points on his attribute panel.

With 16 Skill Points, after using 2 on the Steel Heart Meditation Method, he had 14 left, which was more than enough to enhance the Second Level Witchcraft ’Metal Cage’.

This was also the purpose of his hard training in tailoring skills in Mingster.

Be prepared!

Without hesitation, in an instant, Rein allocated 11 Skill Points and an additional 8 Golden Skill Points to the Second Level Witchcraft ’Metal Cage’.

With this, the Second Level Witchcraft ’Metal Cage’ abruptly elevated from lv1 to lv20!

In an instant, a torrent of overwhelming memories regarding the witchcraft ’Metal Cage’ flooded into Rein’s mind.

For a moment, Rein seemed to have arrived in a mysterious space, continually practicing the Second Level Witchcraft ’Metal Cage’ for hundreds of years, mastering the compression of syllables and coordination of gestures as if by instinct!

Seconds later, once Rein had digested the memories and regained his composure, he gave Halowin a smile.

Halowin, however, suddenly sensed an aura of unfathomable mystery emanating from Rein’s smile, which made his heart tighten and immediately increased his estimation of Rein’s importance by another notch.

”Lord Halowin, shall we begin?”

”Certainly, Lord Rein, I will make my move, please guide me!” Halowin picked up a nearly three-meter-long riding spear from the weapon rack by his side, his expression solemn.

”Swish!”

With a quick step, Halowin lifted the spear for a stab, charging rapidly towards Rein.

As a Titled Knight, it was necessary to close the distance.

Especially since, in Halowin’s view, Rein was also a Wizard with considerable strength.

But in the next second, he froze.

And he was stopped.

Because at this moment, he was already trapped in a square metal cage on the spot.

”This... this is Second Level Witchcraft, was that just instant cast? Your innate wizardry is actually ’Metal Cage’?!” Halowin, trapped in the cage, widened his eyes with an expression as if he had seen a ghost.

0.04 seconds earlier.

Rein’s lips moved slightly, and with a single point towards Halowin, the Second Level Witchcraft Metal Cage responded and appeared!

”Clang!”

Halowin’s entire body exuded the brilliance of will, and with a heavy punch from his right hand, even the metal bars as thick as a bowl’s mouth were instantly deformed.

In just two hits, he broke out of the metal cage.

As a Second Level Witchcraft, even after Rein’s enhancement, it was still unrealistic to trap a Legendary Combat Power melee expert for too long.

But Halowin’s expression was exceptionally serious.

While others might be unclear, he knew very well himself.

Just now, he used almost eighty percent of his strength to break the cage, a binding strength nearly matching a Third Level Witchcraft cast by a Crystallization Wizard...

Meanwhile, Rein had already finished casting the Second Level Witchcraft ’Cutting Net’, and a giant net glowing with silver light descended upon Halowin, with no space to escape.

Simultaneously, Rein leisurely pulled away from Halowin once again, casting the next witchcraft.

Thus, after Halowin clashed hard with the sharp metal net, he once again fell into the nearly instant-cast ’Metal Cage’ by Rein.

Since it was a spar, Rein naturally wouldn’t execute a witchcraft killing move, and likewise, Halowin wouldn’t use his ace moves.

In such a situation, Rein, relying on two Second Level Metal Series Witchcrafts, rendered Halowin completely docile without any way to retaliate.

Couldn’t catch up.

Couldn’t catch up at all.

For Rein, the purpose of this match was to adeptly use the Second Level Witchcraft ’Metal Cage’ to control the field, so he repeatedly tested the new witchcraft.

Several minutes later, the two stopped, each holding back without a clear winner.

Halowin panted heavily, dumbfounded, staring at Rein.

Damn, this kind of wizardry talent is even more exaggerated than what my father wrote in his letter...

....

For several consecutive days, the two would exchange ideas.

With both sharing a love for combat and both hailing from the Mingster Province, they naturally became quickly acquainted.

Especially when it was mentioned that Rein had recently been to Marn Province.

”Oh? Lord Rein, you also know Lord Luther?” Halowin’s eyes lit up.

”Yes, we are quite good friends, and he should be arriving in the Imperial City soon,” Rein smiled and nodded.

”Is he here to participate in the Dragon Knight Reserve assessment? He mentioned it to me last year. I didn’t expect that he would become my competitor in this batch’s selection,” Halowin chuckled.

”Lord Rein, by the way, are you planning to participate in this batch’s...?” Halowin suddenly recalled the newly appeared Blood Feathered Horned Eagle in the family estate’s animal pen.
