Chapter 1079: Chapter 374: Temrael

Rein briefly narrated the situation at Frostwind Prairie to everyone.

Although Admiral Edward received an official notice from the Sword Holder Headquarters days ago about Rein’s promotion and transfer, he wasn’t clear about what Rein had actually done at Frostwind Prairie.

The official document merely brushed over the details.

Both Neoro and Angus were even more in the dark.

So when Rein recounted how he killed the Mutated Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius and then swept through the Sea God Sect’s stronghold at Wailing Wind Fjord, killing the three leaders, everyone listened in stunned silence.

Including Colonel Stanley and Olena, who both had wide-eyed, open-mouthed expressions of shock.

And when Rein mentioned that on his way back, he battled the projection of the Nether Sea Goddess Hela, worshipped by the Sea God Sect, and repelled her, even the well-experienced Admiral Edward widened his tiger-like eyes and felt his head buzzing.

The others exchanged glances, each wearing an expression of disbelief.

But they knew that Rein never had any reason to lie.

After all, his solo campaign to wipe out the Sea God Sect’s stronghold at Wailing Wind Fjord already earned him enough merit, sufficient to promote him to a Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer.

What purpose would it serve for him to boast further?

Therefore, what Rein said was most likely true.

”Rein, tell me more about the battle,” Admiral Edward, snapping out of it, couldn’t help but show excitement as he pulled Rein aside into a room, eager to hear the details.

....

No wonder their captain faced the likes of the Drum Family, a long-established Duke Family, or the fame of the Sword Saint, with a calm and composed demeanor.

Evelyn’s beautiful eyes flickered upon Rein as she secretly thought.

Neoro couldn’t help but let out a bitter smile, speaking helplessly to Evelyn beside him, ”Originally, I thought my becoming an Official Wizard would shock the captain, but unexpectedly... sigh...”

”Hehe, who would’ve thought we’d encounter such a monster of a captain,” Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh softly, covering her mouth.

...

Meanwhile.

Greenwood clutched his injured hand as he, along with his steward Owen, quickly arrived at Mingster’s airship docking point, boarding the nearest airship heading back to the Imperial City.

Inside the airship cabin.

Greenwood’s hand injury received basic treatment and bandaging; detailed treatment still needed to take place after returning to Imperial City Tamriel.

”Young master Greenwood, I deeply apologize for not gathering sufficient information, resulting in your serious injury,” steward Owen bowed deeply to Greenwood.

”I never anticipated that someone so young would have advanced to Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer,” Owen frowned.

”You can’t be entirely blamed; I too didn’t expect that they would have already advanced to Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer without ever going to the headquarters, an occurrence as rare as once in a decade,” Greenwood said with a dark face, reluctantly accepting Owen’s apology.

After all, Owen was his uncle’s trusted aide, and as Owen mentioned, this matter truly caught him off guard.

”Young master Greenwood, could you possibly have someone investigate at the Sword Holder Headquarters, to find out why they were exceptionally promoted to Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer?”

Though Owen, being Duke Drum’s steward, had extensive connections in the Imperial City, investigating certain matters about a Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer was beyond his reach.

”Difficult! Information related to Fine Gold Level Sword Bearers is confidential to the headquarters,”

”Moreover, as they had never previously appeared at the headquarters, the Sword Holders there are naturally unaware of Rein; otherwise, I might have learned some details.” Greenwood shook his head, saying.

”It seems this will require the Duke himself to intervene and contact the relevant personnel at the Imperial Swordsmen Headquarters.” Owen nodded, agreeing with Greenwood’s analysis.

”Even though I’m no match for Rein, I have a general understanding of their capabilities. Rein, relying on extraordinary talent, absurdly pursues both the Knight Path and Wizard Path simultaneously; truly foolish.”

”I’m certain they have had no guidance from any renowned mentors; hence, this situation arises.”

”By the way, Lord Owen, do you truly intend to persuade my uncle to relinquish the shares of the Mingster branch?”

”Hahaha, that’s impossible; it was just an expedient measure for us to make a quick escape.” Owen couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

”But... if they come to the Imperial City and demand it, wouldn’t that shame the Drum Family?” Greenwood hesitated, concernedly.

Greenwood indeed valued family honor.

”Haha, the fear is they don’t come; if they come to the Imperial City, they’ll understand what an imperial aristocracy truly is, even if they are a Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer, they would find it difficult to take a step.”

Seemingly thinking of something, Greenwood’s eyes gleamed slightly, saying, ”Lord Owen, your meaning is?”

”If this Rein reports to the Imperial Swordsmen Headquarters, I will know of it immediately. Then, I believe the Duke will utilize his vast connections to have Rein undertake tasks of considerable difficulty.”

”Exactly! Even Fine Gold Level Sword Bearers receive assignments.”

”Moreover, the Empire’s situation has been particularly unstable these past months; many tasks are highly perilous, resulting in over a dozen casualties even among Fine Gold Level Sword Bearers.” Greenwood’s eyes shone brightly, smiling in agreement.
