Chapter 1075: Chapter 373: Collecting the Debt in the Imperial City

Rein’s words were essentially returned verbatim to Greenwood.

For Greenwood, who always prided himself, his heart at this moment felt as if it were being pierced by needles.

As a descendant of a great noble family from the Imperial City, this was the first time he encountered such a situation, being taught a lesson by a ’country bumpkin’ from below.

You must know, in the eyes of the people from the Imperial City Tamriel, other provinces are all ’countryside’. Many ordinary citizens of the Imperial City think so, let alone those great noble descendants who grew up in the Imperial City.

If this matter were to spread to other great noble descendants of the Imperial City, Greenwood would become a laughing stock among them.

”You...” Greenwood’s face flushed as he glared angrily at Rein.

If not for his trembling hands telling him that this young man named Rein before him was incredibly powerful, obviously surpassing him, he would have charged forward in his rage.

”You’re Rein, do you know who I am?” Greenwood suppressed his anger and said in a deep voice.

”I don’t know, but I only see someone who couldn’t take a single punch from me was just spouting nonsense.”

”How rude! This is Master Greenwood of the Drum Family, also your superior, a Secret Silver Level Sword Bearer from the Imperial Swordsmen Headquarters.” The butler Owen, who was just shocked by Rein’s strength, immediately said excitedly after coming to his senses.

”You even dared to take action against your superior! Didn’t Admiral Edward of the Mingster Branch teach you to maintain respect for your superiors?”

Upon hearing these words, both Viery and Neoro frowned and looked at Rein with concern.

Indeed, this was an unavoidable hurdle.

Within the Sword Bearers, an organization comparable to a military force, the lower ranks must show great respect to their superiors, such as greeting them actively upon meeting. This is a rule that everyone openly follows.

Otherwise, the entire battle system would collapse.

If subordinates do not listen to their superiors and do not respect them, how can orders be conveyed or cooperation in battle occur?

Although their captain’s strength was strong, and from the previous encounter, seemed to surpass that of Greenwood, in terms of rank, he was two levels below, which was a significant flaw.

”Evelyn, go contact Admiral Edward of the branch immediately. Make sure to invite him over.” Neoro said softly to Evelyn beside him.

Admiral Edward, this time, also returned to Mingster with them on the same Imperial Military Airship, so he should be at the Sword Bearers Branch now if nothing unexpected has happened.

This was also the reason why they dared not take the first strike earlier.

”Alright! I’ll go now.” Evelyn nodded heavily.

She understood Neoro’s meaning. Currently, in the entire Mingster Province, only Admiral Edward, the person in charge of the branch, could suppress the opponent in terms of authority.

As a person in charge of a provincial Sword Bearers Branch, the default status is equivalent to a Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer.

And judging from Admiral Edward’s previous appreciation for their Captain Rein, the current situation would at least not worsen.

But just as Evelyn was about to turn and leave, Rein suddenly laughed and said:

”Secret Silver Level Sword Bearer?”

”Respect for superiors?”

”Haha, sorry, then you are even less qualified.”

Rein’s words made Greenwood’s previously gloomy face suddenly smile as he said:

”What, do you think that having some strength allows you to disregard the hierarchy? Haha, I will definitely report this to the Sword Holders Headquarters. Don’t think that just because someone in the branch is protecting you, you’ll be fine.”

”Master Greenwood, I think the situation is clear, and there’s no need for us to engage in a war of words with the other side.” The butler Owen from the Drum Duke’s household, his sullen face also flashed a hint of cunning at this moment.

Although Rein’s strength was far beyond his expectation.

The obvious lack of intelligence makes it fearless to have someone so bold as to defy convention, asking a Secret Silver Level Sword Bearer two levels above him to salute a Diamond Star Level Sword Bearer.

Such a person, no matter how strong, is not scary at all. It would be easy to use the rules to deal with him.

In Owen’s view, staying here was already a waste of time.

”Did you just say I disregard the relationship between superiors and subordinates?” Rein said with a smirk.

”That’s right!” Greenwood, upon seeing Rein’s smile, suddenly had a bad premonition.

”Very well, then I am a Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer, shouldn’t you, a Secret Silver Level Sword Bearer, salute me first?” Rein looked at him with a smirk.

Upon hearing this, everyone present, except Anna who already knew the contents of the formal notification, was instantly stunned.

The scene went so silent a pin drop could be heard!

”Hahaha! That’s the funniest joke I’ve heard this year, you, a Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer?” Butler Owen laughed out loud after regaining his composure.

”Now, you’ve added another charge: openly forging your identity. You all heard it, your captain actually claimed to be a Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer, you’re all witnesses, so don’t lie or cover up then.” Owen’s face brightened up, his mood instantly turned from rain to sunshine.

He didn’t expect such a twist. Originally, he planned to return to the Imperial City to report to Duke Drum and plan from there.

Unexpectedly, such a situation occurred, truly a blessing from Lady Luck.

Meanwhile, Neoro, Viery, and the others beside them all showed worried expressions.

They knew their captain seemed to be able to transfer to the Sword Holders Headquarters before, but even if he went to the headquarters, he was still only a Magic Iron Level Sword Bearer, and Greenwood in front of them was a Secret Silver Level, higher than the Magic Iron Level.
