Chapter 1018: Chapter 356: The Tragedy of the Hard-Shelled Lobstermen (Double-Length Chapter)

In the distant horizon, two giant eagles with dark gray bodies were flying in. They were the Iron Beak Sea Eagles.

Due to the eagles’ eyesight far surpassing humans, and there being no dense forests here to provide cover, the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group’s traces were quickly discovered.

The two Iron Beak Sea Eagles immediately let out piercing eagle cries and began flying rapidly toward the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group.

Seconds later, they were circling directly above Rein and the others.

”Whiz! Whiz!”

The five or six archers and rangers, including Georgia, from the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group began shooting at the Iron Beak Sea Eagles.

Everyone’s aim was quite good, but Rein could clearly see that as the arrows flew into the air, they quickly lost momentum, and even though they barely touched the Iron Beak Sea Eagles, they were easily blown away by the eagles’ flapping wings.

Evidently, because the eagles were flying too high, it was difficult for the arrows to reach them.

Just as everyone was at a loss, Rein walked up to one of the archers, took an arrow from the quiver, and on its metal arrowhead, he cast his improved Metal Series Witchcraft ’Sharpness Technique’.

To avoid drawing attention, Rein deliberately controlled the speed of casting, extending the casting time of around 0.04 seconds to about one and a half seconds.

”Wow, such fast casting speed!” Georgia, a Second Level Wizard Apprentice, quickly sensed the witchcraft fluctuation from Rein’s side, her beautiful eyes widening in surprise.

When the archer took the arrow emitting a silver glow, he was immediately surprised and grateful, saying: ”Thank you, Lord Rein.”

He excitedly aimed his bow at an Iron Beak Sea Eagle, and in the next moment, the silver glow shot into the sky, instantly piercing the belly of one Iron Beak Sea Eagle.

”Screech~”

With a miserable eagle cry, the shot Iron Beak Sea Eagle fell nearly straight down toward the ground!

The other Iron Beak Sea Eagle, frightened, quickly retreated in the direction it came from.

But within two seconds, another silver glow flashed by, and the second Iron Beak Sea Eagle also fell from the sky!

”Is this the Sharpness Technique?”

”This effect is unbelievably good!”

Georgia, the Second Level Wizard Apprentice and archer, widened her eyes, sucking in her breath in shock and envy!

...

A minute earlier.

About ten miles away from the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group, two men wearing black Wizard Robes were chatting, when suddenly one of them looked up at the Iron Beak Sea Eagles, smiled, and said:

”Hey, it looks like our pets have found prey again.”

”Hmm, I wonder what it is this time?” the other one said with a smile.

”Either an Empire reconnaissance team or those annoying mercenary groups like cockroaches?”

”Let’s go have a look!”

But in the next second, a sharp eagle cry rang out, and the two men saw from a distance that one Iron Beak Sea Eagle plummeted down.

”Damn! My eagle!” a Sea God Sect Eagle Tamer changed his expression dramatically because the one that had just been shot down was his Iron Beak Sea Eagle.

”Not good! There’s a sharpshooter!” The other man immediately frowned.

He instantly planned to whistle to call back the Sea Eagles.

But in the next second, his expression similarly changed dramatically because his Sea Eagle had also been shot down!

It should be known that cultivating Iron Beak Sea Eagles is not easy, even within the mature cultivation system of the Sea God Sect, it takes almost a year to train a qualified Iron Beak Sea Eagle.

”Damn it!”

”Quick, fire the signal flare, get the nearby Sea Clan to come over!”

...

Meanwhile, Rein was surrounded by the members of the mercenary group.

”Lord Rein... Your Sharpness Technique’s effect is incredibly good!” The archer couldn’t help but use the respectful ’Your’ form.

”Haha, perhaps it’s because of my high Metal Element affinity.” Rein smiled slightly and explained.

The others also showed expressions of envy toward the archer, and their gazes toward Rein had completely changed.

Is it really something you can talk about so casually, having high Metal Element affinity?

Although most weren’t Wizard Apprentices, let alone Wizards, they had heard about what Elemental Affinity was!

Furthermore, who wouldn’t want to have such a powerful ’assistance’ by their side?

Immediately, besides Georgia, the other archers and rangers enthusiastically started mingling with Rein.

As the leader of the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group, Fandar was naturally overjoyed inside.

It seems his judgment has always been correct!

From the recent Sharpness Technique, this Lord Rein’s strength is quite extraordinary. Even though he is only a Third Level Wizard Apprentice, he is probably not much different from an Official Wizard.

Suddenly, recovering his composure, Fandar solemnly called out: ”Everyone, mount up quickly, and leave this place.”

”Otherwise, those Sea God Sect Eagle Tamers will surround us.”

The group of more than ten people from the Ice Claw Bear Mercenary Group first returned along the original path for a stretch, and then once they reached the sparse wooded area, they made a detour and continued quickly toward their destination.

”Hey, um... Lord Rein, why is your Sharpness Technique so powerful?”

”Also, the casting time is astonishingly fast, how... how did you practice?!” Curious and unable to contain herself, Georgia finally couldn’t resist, shook the reins, maneuvered her horse forward, and asked Rein.

”Huh? Not calling me the new guy anymore?!” Rein couldn’t help but smile and tease.

”You... hmph! Forget it then!”

Rein’s words immediately made the girl’s pretty face flush with embarrassment, seemingly unable to keep face, as she ’proudly’ snorted before riding away.
