Chapter 1011: Chapter 354: Improvement and Enhancement (Double-Length Chapter)

“Then I’ll leave the Frost Wolf Knights with you.” Lagaray knew Rein’s upcoming journey seemed to involve a trip to the Wailing Wind Fjord in search of a Metal Series witchcraft, and he might need helpers, so she offered proactively.

“No need, I would be more worried if you were to return alone. With twenty Frost Wolf Knights, it would be much safer.” Rein waved his hand and declined without hesitation.

“Don’t forget, I am now the King of the Bear Monsters. If I really need manpower, I can summon far more than twenty.” Seeing Lagaray still wanted to say something, Rein half-jokingly said.

This caused Lagaray and the others to laugh.

“True, I almost forgot, you’re now the King of the Bear Monsters.” Lagaray smiled and said.

Not long after, Lagaray left the Ancestor Dragon Nest with the twenty elite barbarians who had just arrived on their Frost Wolves, returning to the new base of the Norton Tribe in Jikar Creek Valley.

…

At this moment, Luther seemed to remember something, his expression turned solemn, and he said: “Lord Rein, are you planning to go to the Wailing Wind Fjord? The situation there has been quite unstable lately!”

“Oh? Could Lord Luther elaborate on that?” Rein raised an eyebrow and said.

“Of course.”

“Recently, I’ve heard that activities of the Sea God Sect have emerged there. The local Thick-Shelled Lobstermen tribe has already been subdued. Currently, there have been several small-scale skirmishes with the garrison forces of Fjord County.”

“So, if Lord Rein plans to head toward the Wailing Wind Fjord now, it’s very likely you’ll encounter the cultists of the Sea God Sect directly.”

Clearly, as a family of the Governor of Marn Province, Luther’s information was extremely well-informed.

“Uh… Lord Luther, if we ride flying mounts directly to the destination and are cautious, shouldn’t we avoid being detected?” Anna couldn’t help but ask.

“Miss Anna, you might not know. Many of these Sea God Sect cultists raise Sea Eagles, which serve as both communication tools and warning systems. So, even if you and Lord Rein ride a Horned Owl Beast, you are likely to be discovered before you arrive.”

“Even if you’re not detected by luck, if either of you stays for a slightly extended period, the opposition is very likely to gather rapidly like a pack of wolves smelling blood.”

“I’m not worried about Lord Rein’s strength, but the Sea God Sect also has experts, and their methods are bizarre and varied, so be cautious.” Luther patiently explained.

“I see.” Anna couldn’t help but nod.

“This… Lord Rein, I’m truly sorry, I didn’t expect such a situation to arise.” Upon hearing this news, the most anxious and embarrassed was Merita.

Though she didn’t know about this situation when she agreed with Rein earlier on.

But the problem is that although Rein has completed his promise to her by slaying Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius, her promise now faces a change.

For a moment, Merita’s face turned crimson, and she was at a bit of a loss.

“Merita, the appearance of the Sea God Sect has nothing to do with you.” Rein immediately waved his hand and said.

Earlier on the road, he learned that Merita actually spent quite a long time outside and hadn’t returned to Winterfort Academy, so it was normal for her not to know about this situation.

Moreover, Merita had already given him the Sheepskin Scroll (map) before he came to the Kolaxius Nest.

As for the Sea God Sect?

Rein pondered.

According to the Imperial Territory Map given by Olena, the Wailing Wind Fjord is located at the junction of the Summer Sea and the Eternal Freeze Sea, separated by seven or eight provincial seas from Rosby County in Mingster Province.

He didn’t expect the Sea God Sect’s influence to have expanded so astonishingly, almost spreading and covering all of the northern and central coasts of the Dragan Empire.

Likely, the southern coastal areas of the Empire have also suffered infiltration or harassment.

From the coverage range, their power might even surpass the Black Flame Cult.

Additionally, this also indicates that the Empire’s turbulent situation is indeed not something that can be stabilized quickly.

This indirectly confirmed what Admiral Edward and Bishop Shion said, that even with the most optimistic estimates, this turmoil would last for quite a long time.

This couldn’t help but add a lot of urgency to Rein’s heart.

Even the joy of just having slain Ancestor Dragon Kolaxius was significantly dampened.

However….

It’s not like he’s actively seeking danger, but there’s a compelling reason to go.

Metal Series witchcraft is rare to begin with, and this time it’s an offensive Metal Series witchcraft. It was the first time Rein encountered it, and if he didn’t retrieve it, he would likely be discontented for quite a long time.

“Previously in Mingster, I hadn’t faced the Sea God Sect directly, but I didn’t expect to have this opportunity in the Frostwind Prairie.” Rein thought to himself.

“Merita, regarding your matters with Lord Rein, it’s not my place to intervene, but this time you’ve certainly created inconvenience for Lord Rein.”

“Lord Rein, if it’s convenient, could you inform us of your specific purpose for going to the Wailing Wind Fjord?” Batalov first reprimanded Merita, then turned to Rein for an inquiry.

Around them were only Anna, along with Luther, Batalov, and a few other high-level leaders from Winterfort Academy. With the Gold Mine as a link, the three parties were somewhat a community of interests.

So Rein smiled and said, “There’s nothing to keep secret. In fact, Lady Merita knows the most about this matter, why not let Lady Merita explain it.”
