Chapter 492: Chapter 224 The Choice of the 5th Profession (2 in 1 Big Chapter)

Moreover, Wexman had already figured out Rein’s next move, which would surely be to rapidly retreat, then look for an opening in the battle to draw the Dual-Handed Greatsword he carried on his back.

However, Wexman didn’t plan to give him that opportunity. He would cling to the boy like a persistent infection, preventing him from having any chance to use the secondary weapon.

The intense pain from his left arm filled Wexman with hatred towards the boy. It had been a long, long time since he had suffered such a significant setback.

Wexman decided he would stab the opponent’s body with his Dagger, creating one hundred and eighty holes, to alleviate the hatred in his heart.

But unexpectedly, the boy didn’t choose to retreat or to draw the Dual-Handed Greatsword on his back. Instead, his fists flew swiftly and furiously at him from both hands.

Wexman’s pupils constricted, and he immediately swung his Dagger to block, while his peripheral vision caught sight of the four sharp blades springing from Rein’s gauntlets, making him exclaim, “Finger Tiger!”

“Clang, clang, clang!”

A torrent of metallic clashes, denser than before, rapidly sounded, almost melding into a single noise.

Although Wexman was much faster than Rein in terms of sheer speed, this was when he was not injured.

At this moment, his left arm hung uselessly by his side, devoid of any fighting capacity, and the loss of arm swinging and balance drastically affected Wexman’s movement speed.

Furthermore, Wexman was not invincible, even a Peak Knight would be nearing the end of his stamina after the fierce battle they had just endured, reducing his movement speed once again!

Thus, even though Wexman had finally escaped the predicament of stiffening for a moment with every hit, at this moment, he faced Rein’s extremely fast Finger Tiger without any chance to catch his breath.

This started to completely break down Wexman’s previously calm mindset.

He estimated his remaining stamina and knew he had to fight desperately now or he might actually die here.

Wexman’s expression suddenly became ferocious. He no longer chose to block Rein’s Finger Tiger but decided to exchange blow for blow.

“Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!”

“Pfft!”

The two men became like two blurs of mist, drifting back and forth across the backyard, mud splashing and grass flying wherever they went!

Rein waved his hands left and right, his movements fast as lightning, his actions a blur. It seemed as if he suddenly had eight arms, all striking at Wexman simultaneously.

The Finger Tiger was like a tempest, filling the sky with afterimages. In the blink of an eye, it slashed across Wexman’s body over a dozen times.

Meanwhile, Wexman’s crimson Dagger acted like a snake spitting venom, carving holes in Rein’s high-quality steel knight’s armor.

Wexman laughed!

The opponent hadn’t chosen to fight cautiously but had opted to trade blow for blow with him.

His Dagger had the special effects of ‘Vampirism’ and ‘Recovery,’ meaning that with each strike, although the wounds weren’t deep, they would instantly cause significant blood loss. Meanwhile, some of the blood absorbed by the Dagger would convert into energy for him.

This meant that he would become stronger as the battle progressed!

But the next second, Wexman wasn’t laughing anymore!

He could feel his Dagger piercing through the opponent’s armor and skin, injuring the body. Although the wounds were not deep, he felt the Dagger drawing blood and converting it into energy.

However, why did it seem like the opponent’s movements were getting faster? Each time he struck, the opponent’s Finger Tiger would slash him more than ten times.

That’s not right!

Dammit, it wasn’t the opponent getting faster; it was himself slowing down!

This numbness throughout his body…

Damn!

The damn Finger Tiger was poisoned!

Wexman suddenly felt screwed!

He was a master of assassination, but because he hadn’t prepared for Rein as the highest level of enemy, he hadn’t poisoned his Dagger.

He hadn’t expected that this broad-browed, big-eyed young man, a mere Governor from a small town in the Dragan Empire, would use poison.

Seconds later, both men stood still, motionless.

Wexman couldn’t move. His body trembled uncontrollably, the numbness so evident. Now, he could hardly lift his arms.

He couldn’t even speak; his tongue was numb!

Wexman’s leather armor fell from him like autumn leaves, piece by piece. The remaining bits hung like ribbons. Now, his body bore hundreds of cuts from the Finger Tiger.

“Bang!”

Wexman, stiff as a concrete statue, thudded onto the ground!

His posture still bent at the knees, Dagger in hand as if ready to strike; the sight was ironically comical.

And in that moment, all he wanted to say to Rein was,

“Damn! The dose of your paralysis poison is way too damn high!”

This was also beyond Rein’s expectations.

When he had applied the paralysis poison to his Finger Tiger, it was only with the thought that if the enemy excelled in witchcraft, he would use the swiftly striking Finger Tiger to disrupt their chanting.

If he could draw blood, even just once, it could have a miraculous effect!

But unexpectedly, like him, the enemy was also more proficient in close combat, and in their high-frequency combat, neither had any chance to perform any form of witchcraft.
