Chapter 491: Chapter 223 Shadow Assassin (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_4

A minute and a half later, Wexman’s eyes began to show obvious confusion and astonishment.

Based on his extensive combat experience, he had judged that the young man before him should have shown signs of declining strength half a minute ago, which would turn the tide of the battle, allowing him to break free from the current passive situation.

But damn it, a minute and a half had passed, and every swing of the other party’s hammer was still so powerful, so swift!

On the contrary, it was his strength that was gradually waning.

This inexplicable irritation began to bother Wexman.

Had the opponent taken some potion beforehand?

Therefore, he could maintain his current state.

A potent stamina potion?

Probably not!

Because that could only increase his stamina by about ten to twenty percent.

A magic blood potion?

Clearly not either!

Since the effect only lasted for half a minute, it was always consumed during combat, and just now the opponent clearly had no chance to take any potion.

…

Wexman’s mind raced, but he couldn’t figure out what kind of potion the opponent could have taken to have such a powerful effect!

Could it be some new potion from the Dragan Empire?

Or was this the opponent’s true strength?

No, that was absolutely impossible!

The guy before him was only a few years old; there was no way he had such strength.

At this moment, Wexman felt a bit of regret. He should have prepared for this fight by treating his opponent as the most dangerous kind of enemy before making his move.

It had been a long time since he found himself in such a predicament!

There had been no sign from Zenina so far, which meant she was likely being held back by the other party’s two third-level Wizard Apprentices and one Spirit Archer.

Another half minute passed…

“Clang!!!”

When Rein struck again with his hammer, he could clearly feel his opponent’s strength weakening in the block, as his knees bent even more than before.

As the opponent in combat, nobody knew the subtle changes better than him, and it immediately became clear to Rein that his adversary’s strength was gradually bottoming out.

Silently, Rein added a little more to his strength.

With remaining attribute points going from 5→4, his Constitution also went from 29 points→30 points.

In a flash, the fatigue from the continuous battle was swept away, and he felt invigorated!

He knew that since he could sense the opponent’s decrease in strength, the opponent would likely realize this too. So if the opponent didn’t want to be worn down to death or hammered to death, he would have to act fast and seek a change.

Rein’s eyes, bright and focused, watched every move his opponent made, his attention now highly concentrated.

He continued to unleash a torrent of heavy hammer blows!

And at this moment, Wexman was beginning to feel weak in his limbs.

Even with his exceptional physical prowess, hard-blocking hundreds of full-force hammer smashes from an exceedingly strong opponent would take its toll.

What’s more, his Transcendent trait wasn’t strength-based.

So, with time dragged out to this point, he had to take a risk!

Faced with another ferocious hammer strike from Rein, Wexman’s face twisted with resolve. He didn’t retreat any longer but instead leaned forward, stepping in, blocking as much as he could with his left hand, and with his right hand gripping the Dagger, he swiftly thrust it towards Rein’s abdomen.

Wexman had decided to exchange injury for injury, intending to resist Rein’s hammer with his left arm to gain a chance to puncture Rein’s abdomen.

He had anticipated the possible countermeasures from his opponent. If the opponent dodged, it would disrupt his power generation and throw off his rhythm, allowing Wexman to escape this passive situation.

If the opponent chose to exchange injuries, then at worst his left hand would be rendered incapable of fighting, but the opponent would surely suffer a severe stab wound to the abdomen.

However, this meant he would be injured.

Being injured in enemy territory was a very troublesome matter, which was why Wexman tried his best to avoid this situation.

“Clang!!!”

“Thwack!”

Two different sounds of metal colliding erupted almost simultaneously!

Rein’s near-full strength strike was clearly not something Wexman could block with one hand, and after the clash between hammer and dagger, the dark warhammer came crashing down hard on Wexman’s left arm.

With a ‘crack,’ the bones in his left shoulder joint were shattered by the warhammer!

At the same time, Wexman’s blood-colored dagger pierced through Rein’s watersilk steel breastplate and into his abdomen.

But a strong sense of resistance, as if stabbing into steel, came through the dagger, causing Wexman’s face to change instantly!

This was the effect of Rein’s innate ‘Steel Body’ ability.

Wexman’s reaction was extremely fast; in the blink of an eye, his right hand’s dagger flicked upward to the center between Rein’s hands and then slashed backward, forcing Rein to let go of his hammer’s handle.

Seeing Rein lose his best weapon, the Two-Handed Warhammer, Wexman, enduring the severe pain in his left shoulder, twisted his lips into a sinister smile, his heart settling down at last.

Without your main weapon, let’s see how you fight against me now!

Young man, your combat experience is still lacking!
