Chapter 482: Chapter 221 Storm Raven (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_3

Rein tentatively answered, “Lord Trevo, is it prediction?”

Trevo looked at Rein with an appreciative gaze and said, “Lord Rein, your wisdom is truly breathtaking.”

“You know, when my archery teacher once asked me this question, I pondered over it for a long time and answered incorrectly several times before figuring it out. I didn’t expect you to get it right on your first try.”

“It is prediction!”

“Unlike shooting a stationary object, hitting a moving target at a distance requires predicting its direction and speed in advance. The greater the distance, the more crucial the prediction is.”

Rein nodded; he understood this point, having heard the saying ‘A miss by an inch could lead to a failure of a thousand miles’ in his former life.

If the prediction is wrong from the start, the arrow will deviate slightly at the beginning, and as it travels farther, the deviation could eventually be measured in meters, or even tens of meters.

“Lord Rein, based on the demonstration just now, I’ve noticed that you already have a solid foundation in archery, and your physical condition is very strong in all aspects. Thus, we can directly proceed to the subsequent training,” said Trevo.

“Let’s start the first training now, shooting the Gold Coin.”

Trevo smiled and took out an imperial Gold Coin from his pocket, flicked it with his thumbnail, and the shiny coin tumbled through the air, landing back in Trevo’s palm after two seconds.

“In a moment, I will flick the coin into the air from thirty meters away, and Lord Rein, you will need to hit it before it hits the ground. If your accuracy exceeds ninety percent, then you will have completed the first training session.”

Rein nodded.

This pure skill training was more to his liking.

Clearly, the training content of shooting the Gold Coin did not require much strength, but it demanded a high level of eyesight and prediction.

“Lord Rein, please be prepared, I am going to start,” Trevo announced from a distance.

“Ding!”

As Trevo flicked the coin into mid-air.

“Whoosh!”

Rein quickly drew his bow and shot!

Unfortunately, he didn’t hit the coin on his first try, but the arrow wasn’t far off.

After several more arrows, Rein subtly grasped the pattern of the coin’s velocity as it fell from its peak.

In less than ten minutes, Rein started hitting the target occasionally.

Half an hour later, his accuracy was close to fifty percent.

Two hours later, his hit rate had reached over 90%.

This pleasantly surprised Trevo; he hadn’t expected Rein to be so talented with the bow and arrow.

“Very good, Lord Rein, your training progress shows you have remarkable archery talent. Now it’s time to increase the difficulty. I will increase the distance to fifty meters,” Trevo said.

“However, we can take a short break first.”

After a moment’s thought, Rein nodded and said, “All right, Lord Trevo.”

At that moment, Trevo glanced at the Dual-Handed Greatsword and Two-Handed Warhammer Rein was carrying on his back, and the metal greatbow he was still holding, and his face showed contemplation. Hesitating for a moment, he said:

“Lord Rein, don’t you think you are carrying too many weapons, which must greatly reduce your speed?”

“Yes, does Lord Trevo have any solution?” Rein, sensing that Trevo might have a solution for this vexing issue, quickly inquired with a stir of interest.

“I just remembered that last year, when we were operating with a team of Sword Bearers, their captain used a rare metal-based witchcraft to transform metal. He turned a Longsword into a metal round shield in just a few seconds.”

“So, I was thinking, if you learned that witchcraft, it might be more convenient for you, at least you could carry just one of either the Dual-Handed Greatsword or the Two-Handed Warhammer.”

“If the bowstring issue could be resolved, you might only need to carry the weight of one weapon in metal.”

“Is there such witchcraft?” Rein asked excitedly after hearing this.

He quickly asked, “Does the imperial navy have this witchcraft?”

After all, there were still more than twenty days until the Sword Bearer assessment, and even if he joined successfully, he wouldn’t be able to exchange for this witchcraft immediately.

Considering the navy’s special unit, the Wave Steppers, he would need to complete a mission of a certain difficulty level, receive an evaluation, and then could exchange for items of corresponding grade.

If the navy had it, that would be best, perhaps he would have a chance to obtain this witchcraft.

“Yes, Lord Rein, I am certain of this,” Trevo affirmed.

“Unfortunately, the special items exchange catalog on the navy side does not have it, I’m sorry to disappoint you,” Trevo shook his head and said.

This left Rein feeling somewhat disappointed.

“By the way, Lord Rein, you are about to head to Mingster for the ‘Sword Bearer’ organization’s assessment, aren’t you?” Trevo changed the subject and asked.

“Exactly, Lord Trevo, are you also interested in the Sword Bearer organization?” Rein curiously asked.

“Haha, Lord Rein, I participated in the Sword Bearer assessment four years ago and was not selected, that’s how I ended up with the imperial navy’s Wave Steppers,”

Rein raised his eyebrows; he hadn’t expected Trevo to have also participated in the Sword Bearer selection and been rejected. However…is the Sword Bearer assessment really that difficult?

Shouldn’t be!

Could a Great Knight also be rejected?

“Hmm? Could Lord Trevo elaborate a bit? As far as I know, the Sword Bearer assessment shouldn’t be so difficult. Could it be that someone of your status as a Great Knight archer also got rejected?”
