Chapter 455: Chapter 214: Prerequisites for [Warhammer Wizard (Legendary)] (Two-in-One Mega Chapter)_4

“Someone helped?” Mary asked cautiously.

“Yes, I applied a Water Membrane Technique on Lord Rein.” The twin-tailed girl quickly raised her hand and sweetly added.

“Just a Water Membrane Technique?” Major Mary glanced at Vinica and asked again.

The ‘Water Membrane Technique’ she of course knew was merely a basic-level witchcraft, capable of providing defense… well, if it was for a Knight-level battle, that would be considerably effective.

But for a battle between Great Knights, it would be quite weak.

If it were a match against someone like Volod…

Then one could only say… it’s better than nothing!

“Uh… the rest, mainly I also didn’t manage to…,” the twin-tailed girl swayed her braids, seemingly embarrassed by the spectators around her, and spoke with her head down.

However, Vinica quickly realized, the battle between Rein and Volod, if it were any other Wizard Apprentice, they probably wouldn’t have been able to intervene either!

Their movements were just too fast, she held the ‘Tomb of Water’ Sorcery Scroll at the time but hesitated to use it, worried about harming Rein by mistake.

Therefore, after understanding this, the girl quickly lifted her head again and excitedly began to recount:

“The battle between Lord Rein and Volod was just too fast…”

Soon, through Vinica’s vivid storytelling, the scene of Rein’s fierce battle with ‘Skull Crusher’ Volod came to life before everyone’s eyes.

Major Mary and the Reiman brothers were all the more frequently casting their gazes toward Rein.

Rein himself was somewhat speechless on the side.

The gaze from the beautiful Major Mary did make him feel quite proud inside.

But the frequent looks from the two burly siblings Reiman brothers were… indescribable.

Thus, Rein coughed and interrupted, “Let’s head back to the town hall for now…”

…

After returning to his room, Rein continued to ponder over the matter of the Golden Skill Points.

Although the system hadn’t specified what Golden Skill Points could be used for, from their source, Rein thought they should be applied to some special skills, or perhaps for later enhancements in skills.

But this was merely his conjecture, and the specifics would only be clear when the time came to use them.

After resting briefly, Rein began to quickly review the recent battle.

After all, only by constantly summarizing and improving could one maintain progression!

What left the deepest impression on Rein was the crystal necklace used by Volod.

Clearly, it was a magical artifact, within which a rather potent witchcraft was sealed. If it weren’t for the Water Membrane Technique from Vinica, the high-level knightly plate armor, and his innate ‘Steel Body’ triple defense.

Under that attack, Rein would have certainly been severely injured, and the battle situation might’ve turned!

Moreover, when Volod fought him with a Dagger in hand, his repeated attempts to distance himself were very obvious, probably aiming to cast witchcraft.

Looking at it now, the fact that Volod did not bolster himself with defensive witchcraft in advance showed he probably underestimated Rein.

Otherwise, he should have been protected by defensive witchcraft.

But… is it possible that the witchcraft Volod released during the sneak attack was incompatible with stacking defensive witchcraft?

Rein couldn’t help but speculate.

After thinking a bit, Rein shook his head slightly. This point wasn’t important.

What was important was that in future battles against such veteran Wizard Apprentices, one must close the distance, not allowing the enemy the time and space to cast witchcraft.

Therefore, Kadar Martial Arts, known for the fastest strike speed and highest attack frequency, would be the best choice.

Furthermore, the High-frequency Shock-infused hammer blow Volod executed with one hand should be some sort of secret technique, the second one Rein encountered.

The first was during the battle with Colonel Parix of the Zaral rebellion force.

A secret technique’s power was clearly above that of secret skills. Under the enhancement of ‘Warhammer Specialization lv3’, Rein was able to push the power of the secret skill ‘Earth-splitting Hammer’ nearly to its limit.

Yet, during the battle, he was still at a slight disadvantage. If others were to use secret skills against a secret technique, they would likely suffer a crushing defeat!

It seems, Rein also needed to master a secret technique of his own, and quickly!

…

At this moment, a knock on the door suddenly interrupted Rein’s review thoughts.

“Knock knock knock!”

“Lord Rein, the Dragon-snake squad has returned. Captain Baron wishes to have a word with you,” Major Mary’s clear voice came from outside the door.

Hmm?

Rein was momentarily taken aback. Had the Dragon-snake squadron not returned?

Although they hadn’t been of help, Rein still highly regarded their quick response to make for the island.

On the other hand, he was quite curious about the Dragon-snake squad.

When disembarking the ship earlier, Major Mary had briefly mentioned the Dragon-snake squad, but seemingly due to the secret nature of the matter, she hadn’t elaborated, only vaguely mentioned it seemed to be a special department belonging to the navy.

Now, with the opportunity to meet with the Dragon-snake squad up close, Rein was very interested in meeting with them.

“Major Mary, I’ll be right there,” said Rein.
